Glitter and Bow

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a Christmas card. I went with a fun and simple card that packs a hidden surprise. This cute card started with the fun DSP from Candy Cane Lane. I love the fun pattern and wanted to make sure to highlight it on the card. From there, I added a sentiment, but it turned out just adding a sentiment stamped in Real Red was too boring. Instead, I stamped my sentiment in Versamark and added the Real Red Glitter Embossing Powder to added that something extra to the card. You can't quite tell from the picture, but that sentiment is just full of glitter fun! As a finishing touch, I created a fun bow using my Envelope Punch Board. Such a great card!

  • Stamps: Wonderful Year
  • Inks: Versamark
  • Cardstock: Candy Cane Lane DSP; Crumb Cake; Early Espresso; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Red Glitter Embossing Powder
  • Tools: Circles Framelits; Envelope Punch Board (bow)

Sweater Tag

My countdown to Christmas continues with this lovely card full of pattern and texture. The Cable Knit Embossing Folder is an amazing way to create visual and tactile interest on your cards. I added a strip of DSP from the Warmth and Cheer Stack to continue the sweater theme. From there I finished the card with a simple tag and a few embellishments. And the card features my favorite Christmas color combination of Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green.

  • Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth
  • Inks: Cherry Cobbler; Garden Green
  • Cardstock: Warmth & Cheer DSP; Cherry Cobbler; Early Espresso; Very Vanilla
  • Accessories: Gold Sequin Trim; Cherry Cobbler Twine
  • Tools: Cable Knit Embossing Folder; Scallop Tag Topper Punch

Trio of Christmas Creatures

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create gift packaging. I took one of the old extra large gift boxes and decided to have some fun dressing it up. Two bands of DSP, one envelope punch board created ribbon, and a trio of Christmas creatures make a festive box for gift giving. I went simple, but I think it really turned out quite cute.

  • Cardstock: Presents and Pinecones DSP

Repeating Reindeer

How a bit a repeating reindeer for today? In October, I made a similar card with a repeating scarecrow. Of course I had to try it with the cute reindeer. I even made him Rudolph complete with his red nose! You can't tell from the picture, but the red stripes were colored with Wink of Stella to give them a bit of shine.

SSINKIC40: Winter Forest

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the inspiration picture:

I started with the some of the colors of the card, then I looked for a stamp set to help create my forrest. Thankfully I had access to the Totally Trees stamp set. This set is great because of how many different tree designs are included. I focused on one specific tree and created my own forrest on the center piece. For the colored portion of the trees, I inked up each color and stamped off before stamping the tree. This created a softer texture that I love! From there, I added a layer of Fancy Frost DSP. The paper is embossed but doesn't have the glossy sections like the Irresistibly Floral DSP in the annual catalog. I sponged some of the same ink colors around the DSP to mimic my forrest. Perfect card!

  • Stamps: Totally Trees; Happy Happenings
  • Inks: Soft Suede; Pool Party; Mint Macaron; Claypso Coral; Flirty Flamingo; Peekaboo Peach
  • Cardstock: Fancy Frost DSP; Island Indigo; Pool Party; Whisper White

Dragonfly Dreams

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using one of the new Occasions Catalog suites! I had to showcase the Dragonfly Dreams bundle with the Inside the Lines DSP from SAB. I love the butterflies from the annual catalog, so the dragonflies are a perfect addition to my sets. Originally I was going to color the entire piece of Inside the Lines DSP, but then I remembered the great spotlight technique. I choose a small circle to die cut and then color with the new watercolor pencils. I love the effect and will definitely be using the pencils more. From there I added some layering pieces and a pretty die cut dragonfly.

Detail of the wink of stella on the cut out dragonfly.

  • Accessories: Wink of Stella; Watercolor Pencils

A Warm Christmas

Can you tell how much I love the Wrapped in Warmth Stamp Set? The greetings are so perfect for all my cards. For this card, I played with layering different pieces of cardstock, one DSP strip and one embossed strip, to create an interesting backdrop for my doily and sentiment. Note the fun stitching around the sentiment. I have totally fallen for the Stitched Shapes Framelits. So glad I bought those last month.

  • Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth
  • Inks: Cherry Cobbler
  • Cardstock: Warmth & Cheer DSP; Garden Green; Basic Black; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Doilies
  • Tools: Stitched Shapes Framelits; Cable Knit Embossing Folder

Let It Snow

Welcome to the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration blog hop! This month we are creating winter themed cards. As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 2 on the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Blog Hop – Darcy @ Dj's Stampin' Place. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn’t work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

I played around with a few designs and color schemes before settling on this fun and wintery shaker snowman. While the design is simple, the card has a ton of fun elements to punch it up. I embossed the piece of Whisper White, added more shape to my snowman with the die cut, and added some fun silver and Flirty Flamingo stars. While I live in California (the part where it doesn't snow), the boys and I are spending Christmas at my mom's house in Indiana. And we get some actual snow this year! So to everyone in cold climates, let it snow!

SSINKCS40: Classic Christmas

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the sketch below.

I had this leftover stamped sentiment from the My Hero stamp set still sitting on my desk. This sketch was the perfect place for it! I layered on some fun green dsp from the This Christmas packet, but something was missing. Instead of using dsp or a solid piece of cardstock, I decided to emboss some Real Red to compliment the sentiment. Perfect idea!

  • Stamps: My Hero
  • Inks: Real Red
  • Cardstock: This Christmas DSP; Real Red; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Rhinestones
  • Tools: Circles Framelits; Softly Falling Embossing Folder
