Christmas Tree Farm

Today’s card is one of the simple cards that just comes to me. I immediately thought of Santa amongst a bunch of Christmas trees. Perfect for stamping and coloring. I kept the rest of the card simple with some DSP scraps, a simple sentiment, and some fun enamel shapes.

3D Christmas Tree

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card featuring some punch art. I choose to go simple and create a Christmas tree out of one of my punches. After digging through, I settled on the Christmas bulb punch to create the “leaves.” From there, I stamped some leaf detail using a retired stamp and got to punching. After assembling my tree, I added a few ornaments with a hole punch and a tree topper with a star punch. For a final touch, I added some Wink of Stella “snow” to my card face.

#23 Plaid Trio

Today's sketch comes from August 2014:

I'm so glad that SU carried over the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set from last year's Holiday Catalog. The images are too cute to get rid of! For this card, I took a page from a Halloween card from last year, flipped it on the side, and switched out the ghouls for Christmas images. Plus, I found a great card to showcase the beautiful plaid paper from the Christmas Around the World DSP.

Marvelous Mint Macaron

Hello everyone! With the close of every Stampin' Up Annual Catalog, we have to say goodbye to five In Colors. This May, we will be losing the following colors:

Initially I wasn't a huge fan of these colors. It seemed to be a odd combination. But over the past two years, I have grown to like all of the colors. In fact, I have grown to love love love Mint Macaron. It will be sad to lose these colors, but I am devastated to lose Mint Macaron. Hands down my favorite! Today I'm celebrating Mint Macaron and giving it a proper sendoff with three fun cards!

My first card is actually one I made using a ton of retired products. I don't usually hang on to retired stamp sets (preferring to sell them and get new ones), but I have kept two sets that get pulled out time and time again: Four You and Four Feathers! This great monochrome triptych features both of those retired sets plus one current set (Timeless Textures) and a great accessory (Mint Macaron Striped Ribbon). Simple card, yet it highlights the color beautifully.

  • Stamps: Four Feathers (retired); Four You (retired); Timeless Textures
  • Inks: Mint Macaron
  • Cardstock: Mint Macaron; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Mint Macaron Striped Ribbon
  • Tools:

Card two features a Holiday Catalog stamp set that is carrying over! I immediately fell for the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set and Punch and love that I can use it beyond Christmas time. The little suit stamp is perfect as a teddy bear. And I love the color combination of Mint Macaron and Crumb Cake. The soft colors make a great gender neutral baby card. This card also features the In Color DSP pack. I love these packs for great background pieces. SU sells the DSP packs in both In Color collections, Brights, Regals, Subtles, and Neutrals.

  • Stamps: Cookie Cutter Christmas; Suite Sayings
  • Inks: Mint Macaron; Crumb Cake; Chocolate Chip
  • Cardstock: 2015-2017 In Color DSP; Neutrals DSP; Mint Macaron; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Mint Macaron Striped Ribbon
  • Tools: Cookie Cutter Punch; Layering Circles Framelits

Finally I am featuring my favorite color combination: Mint Macaron and Rich Razzleberry. Purple is my favorite color and I love the green and purple combo of these two colors. I am again featuring the In Color DSP as my background paper. I kept the main image of the card fairly simple with a jar full of flowers.

  • Stamps: Jar of Love
  • Inks: Sweet Sugarplum; Rich Razzleberry; Mint Macaron; Smoky Slate
  • Cardstock: 2015-2017 In Color DSP; Mint Macaron; Whisper White
  • Accessories:
  • Tools: Everyday Jars Framelits

Super sad that we only have a few weeks left with Mint Macaron, but hey, maybe they will eventually bring it back when Stampin' Up does another color refresh. A girl can dream, right?

A Collection of Quilts

Merry Christmas Everyone! The boys and I are at my mom's house in Indiana snuggling up to stay warm and enjoying our lazy day. Today's card is the last of my Christmas cards to share with you this year. Simply make a quilt from all the little pieces! In this case, I used the smallest square from the Stitched Shapes Framelits set and die cut 12 squares for each card. If you look, I ended up die cutting 96 squares to make this collection. A lot of cranking! But it was worth it create this amazing collection of cards. And I used use a ton of small scraps laying around. Win win!

Trio of Christmas Creatures

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create gift packaging. I took one of the old extra large gift boxes and decided to have some fun dressing it up. Two bands of DSP, one envelope punch board created ribbon, and a trio of Christmas creatures make a festive box for gift giving. I went simple, but I think it really turned out quite cute.

Repeating Reindeer

How a bit a repeating reindeer for today? In October, I made a similar card with a repeating scarecrow. Of course I had to try it with the cute reindeer. I even made him Rudolph complete with his red nose! You can't tell from the picture, but the red stripes were colored with Wink of Stella to give them a bit of shine.

Simple Stamped Christmas

How about a one layer stamped card with a bonus gingerbread? I featured this card as a make-n-take at my November events. I combined the Wrapped in Warmth and Cookie Cutter Christmas stamps to create a nice background for the little punched out gingerbread. Note the paper piercing around the edge of the Garden Green piece. I feel like the piercing really pulls the card together.

  • Inks: Cherry Cobbler; Garden Green; Early Espresso
  • Cardstock: Garden Green; Whisper White; kraft

Gingerbread Swaps

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using my favorite Christmas bundle. Of course, I had to highlight the fun Cookie Cutter Christmas Bundle. I keep coming back to this bundle time and again!

I also used this card as a fun swap card from some of my fellow demonstrators.  I had fun stamping all the images from the Cookie Cutter Christmas set, but I think my favorite is this sweet little gingerbread man. I decided to layer him on some fun pattern paper and coordinating circles. The card was missing that something extra until I remembered the metallic foil doilies. Perfect little addition to the card!

Fun n' Crafty Blog Hop November 2016

Welcome to the Fun n’ Crafty Blog Hop for November. This month's theme is Christmas cards. Have you seen the new Stitched Shapes Framelits? They are a great addition to Stampin' Up's framelits. I bought mine last week and they arrived on Monday, just in time for me to use them for today's card.

For my card, I wanted to go simple but play with shapes and patterns. I layered a couple different patterns from the Warmth and Cheer DSP stack to create my background. From there, I layered some ovals framelits to create the nice center of my card. Note the fun stitching around my sentiment! To finish off the card, I added some metallic thread behind my sentiment and and a few gold enamel shapes.

  • Stamps: Cookie Cutter Christmas
  • Inks: Cherry Cobbler
  • Cardstock: Warmth and Cheer DSP; Garden Green; Cherry Cobbler; Basic Black; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Real Red Metallic Thread; Metallic Enamel Shapes
  • Tools: Stitch Shapes Framelits; Ovals Framelits
