Crafting Forever Sketch

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the sketch below.

june2018.jpg

I'm a huge fan of sketch challenges, and this one is no exception. For my card, I decided on a simple color palette of Lemon Lime Twist and Call Me Clover. From there, I picked a background stamp set to add some interest to the cardstock and then started building the rest of the card. I love the mix of patterns that resulted. As the last touch, I added some fun Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon.

Beautiful Soiree

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the sketch below:

feb2018.jpg

I adore the Sweet Soiree DSP with the beautiful silver foil accents. Super feminine paper is not usually my go-to, but I love this pack so much! I decided to really let the paper shine by layering on a few different patterns. For my sentiment, I choice this fun coloring stamp from the Just Add Text set. I added a bit of ribbon and tinsel and finished off my card!

  • Stamps: Just Add Text
  • Inks: Basic Black; Calypso Coral; Daffodil Delight; Old Olive; Powder Pink; Marina Mist; Sweet Sugarplum; Berry Burst
  • Cardstock: Sweet Soiree DSP; Berry Burst
  • Accessories: Berry Burst Finely Woven Ribbon; Love Mini Tinsel Trim

#4 Candlelight Christmas Throwback

Today's sketch comes from January 2017.

For today's card, I pulled out my random retired paper scrap box and found some pieces from SU's Candlelight Christmas DSP pack. I figured out my favorite pattern combos and started layering. To help break up the pattern, I cut out a piece of Real Red cardstock. I added a simple sentiment from last year's stamp set, Wonderful Year. As a final touch, I added this 3D pointsettia.

  • Stamps: Wonderful Year (retired)
  • Inks: Real Red
  • Cardstock: Candlelight Christmas DSP (retired 2012); Real Red; Very Vanilla
  • Accessories: random flower 3D sticker

GDP098: Dinosaur Banners

Today's challenge is my submission for Global Design Projects Sketch Challenge. I love sketch challenges! They give me some start for my card but are really very open to interpretation.

I pulled out one of my favorite patterns in the entire catalog: the dinosaur paper from Pick a Pattern. Those little dinosaurs are just so cute! Once I picked my focal paper, I grabbed some coordinating but more muted patterns to use as the base and as another banner. I added a simple sentiment from the same suite and a simple faux ribbon detail. This card was super easy and fun. I will be featuring it as a free make n take for my crop day this coming Sunday.

  • Stamps: Pieces and Patterns
  • Inks: Basic Black
  • Cardstock: Pick a Pattern DSP, Emerald Envy, Crushed Curry
  • Accessories: Crushed Curry Ribbon

SSINKCS46: Abstract Crackle

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the card sketch below:

I decided to feature the new Color Theory DSP stack. I love this crackle look paper so I made it the focus. I simply picked two complimentary colors and repeated them throughout the simple card. The card gave me a chance to use my new Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set and Duet Banner Punch.

  • Stamps: Thoughtful Banners
  • Inks: Crushed Curry; Dapper Denim
  • Cardstock: Color Theory DSP; Dapper Denim; Crushed Curry; Whisper White
  • Accessories:
  • Tools: Duet Banners Punch

SSINKCS45: Love You!

Today’s card is a submission for Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration's Card Sketch Challenge! I love card sketches to give me a "roadmap" for a card design. This month's card sketch:

My card was created using the last bits of the Festive Birthday DSP pack. I had a larger piece of the Melon Mambo paper and so based my card off of that that. I added some great other patterns and colors as banners. The sentiment echoes the colors of the DSP. As a final touch, I had to add some shiny in the form of gold sequins

  • Stamps: Friendly Wishes
  • Inks: Melon Mambo; Emerald Envy
  • Cardstock: Festive Birthday DSP; Emerald Envy; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Emerald Envy Ruched Ribbon; Gold Sequin Trim
  • Tools: Stitched Shapes Framelits

SSINKCS41: Carried Away

I ran out of time this past weekend to get a card sketch card posted for Monday's SSINK challenge. So instead of being a design team member, I'm going to participate in the challenge today. Click on the sketch to play along with us!  Here's the sketch we were given:

And here's the card I came up with! I decided to play with patterns and stamping for this card. The new SAB paper Carried Away is one of my favorites! I love the great color combinations and patterns. So I took three patterns from that pack for the circles and the banner. I then added a simple sentiment, but jazzed it up by using tone on tone stamping to create my own patterned background. Before I glued everything down, I decided the background needed a bit more. Enter the Playful Backgrounds stamp set. A few stamps of these fun circles completed my card.

  • Stamps: Designer Tee (SAB); Playful Backgrounds
  • Inks: Watermelon Wonder; Peekaboo Peach
  • Cardstock: Carried Away DSP (SAB); Watermelon Wonder; Peekaboo Peach
  • Accessories:
  • Tools: Circles Framelits; Triple Banner Punch

SSINKCS40: Classic Christmas

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the sketch below.

I had this leftover stamped sentiment from the My Hero stamp set still sitting on my desk. This sketch was the perfect place for it! I layered on some fun green dsp from the This Christmas packet, but something was missing. Instead of using dsp or a solid piece of cardstock, I decided to emboss some Real Red to compliment the sentiment. Perfect idea!

  • Stamps: My Hero
  • Inks: Real Red
  • Cardstock: This Christmas DSP; Real Red; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Rhinestones
  • Tools: Circles Framelits; Softly Falling Embossing Folder

SSINKCS39: Warm Christmas

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the sketch below. Sketch cards are always a lot of fun to make.

I had a few pages from the Warmth and Cheer DSP pack leftover from my paper share. I love this fun collection of patterns and colors. So I decided to go with a nontraditional combination of Garden Green and Delightful Dijon. I had a ton of fun mixing and matching patterns to recreate the sketch. A simple, but very visually appealing card.

  • Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth
  • Inks: Garden Green
  • Cardstock: Warmth and Cheer DSP; Crumb Cake; Kraft
  • Accessories:
  • Tools: Stars Framelits
