Santa and Snow

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a with the theme of Winter Wonderland. I stumbled upon this card from Sandra Korten and I just had to CASE it. She uses a great combination of colors and elements to create a very fun winter card. I kept most of her elements while subbing out the colored paper and twine.

Rainbow Birthday

Today I'm featuring not one card, but an entire set of 12 cards! I saw a similar card idea on Pinterest and knew I wanted to recreate it using all 12 Stampin' Blends colors and a ton of scrap DSP pieces. I tried to use only scrap pieces of DSP from my giant scrap box. I love how this design makes great use of scraps. After stamping and coloring, I added the stamped image to my DSP with glue but also added a strip of decorative washi tape. These cards were so much fun to put together. I loved finding paper, color, and washi tape combos in my stash. P.S. This card is being featured at my Quick and Easy class. Participants can choose which color they want.

Wintery Tree

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a Winter Blues card. I'm grateful to live in the San Francisco Bay Area where the temperature rarely goes below 50 degrees. That said, I grew up in Indiana and know what it's like to live through winter. For this card, I stamped a common sight in winter, a bare tree, and added some fun color swooshes. I layered my stamped image onto some coordinating cardstock and them embossed a piece of Whisper White. A simple, but nice card for today.

Copper Ringed Reindeer

For today's card, i CASEd the lovely Paula Dobson @ Stampinantics. I loved making this card even if I had to fussy cut that reindeer. The piece of Cherry Cobbler DSP is my favorite from that pack. I love the subtle pattern.

Let It Snow

Welcome to the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration blog hop! This month we are creating winter themed cards. As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 2 on the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Blog Hop – Darcy @ Dj's Stampin' Place. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn’t work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

I played around with a few designs and color schemes before settling on this fun and wintery shaker snowman. While the design is simple, the card has a ton of fun elements to punch it up. I embossed the piece of Whisper White, added more shape to my snowman with the die cut, and added some fun silver and Flirty Flamingo stars. While I live in California (the part where it doesn't snow), the boys and I are spending Christmas at my mom's house in Indiana. And we get some actual snow this year! So to everyone in cold climates, let it snow!

Fun n' Crafty Blog Hop December 2016

Welcome to the Fun n’ Crafty Blog Hop for December. This month's theme is metallics. Pull out all the shiny and get to stamping! For my card, I wanted to use one my favorite embellishments: the metallic foil doilies. I love how the package comes with gold and silver foil in two different sizes. I've used these so much that I'm on my third package! To help highlight the shine, I stamped a simple greeting onto a white circle and had the doily frame my centerpiece. I added more texture to the card with the embossing folder, but kept the patterns simple with just a small strip of DSP. Hop along below to see what the other FNC ladies made with their shiny pieces!

Variation using retired DSP.

  • Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth
  • Inks: Cherry Cobbler; Island Indigo
  • Cardstock: Presents & Pinecones DSP; Cherry Cobbler; Emerald Envy; Mint Macaron; Winter Frost DSP (retired); Island Indigo; Pool Party; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Metallic Foil Doilies
  • Tools: Circle Framelits; Softly Falling Embossing Folder

Winter Thanks

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using one of our tree stamps. I decided to highlight the very versatile Sheltering Tree stamp.

In fact, I have a few Sheltering Tree cards coming this month. I loved taking the bare tree, stamping some "snow", and then adding texture and shine to the card.

  • Stamps: Sheltering Tree; Labeler Alphabet
  • Inks: Soft Sky; Night of Navy; Early Espresso
  • Cardstock: Soft Sky; Night of Navy; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Metallic Foil Doilies; Silver and White Twine (nonSU)

Cool Trees

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a Christmas card using nontraditional colors. I decided to go with Rich Razzleberry, Mint Macaron, and Silver. I love the cool look of this card. I embossed the piece of Mint Macaron with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder to give some extra dimension to the card. The trees were stamped from the Foxy Friends stamp set and coordinate with the Perfect Pines Framelits. Unfortunately, I never bought those framelits. Oh well! I just fussy cut the trees. Not a huge deal, but I'm really thinking about buying those framelits now.

  • Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth; Foxy Friends
  • Inks: Rich Razzleberry; Mint Macaron
  • Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry; Mint Macaron; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Metallic Doilies; Rhinestones
  • Tools: Lots of Labels Framelits; Softly Falling Embossing Folder
