SSINKIC40: Winter Forest

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the inspiration picture:

I started with the some of the colors of the card, then I looked for a stamp set to help create my forrest. Thankfully I had access to the Totally Trees stamp set. This set is great because of how many different tree designs are included. I focused on one specific tree and created my own forrest on the center piece. For the colored portion of the trees, I inked up each color and stamped off before stamping the tree. This created a softer texture that I love! From there, I added a layer of Fancy Frost DSP. The paper is embossed but doesn't have the glossy sections like the Irresistibly Floral DSP in the annual catalog. I sponged some of the same ink colors around the DSP to mimic my forrest. Perfect card!

SSINKCC40: Variations of Green

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the colors below.

Right away I ran into a bit of a snag. I don't have Sahara Sand ink, but I do have Sahara Sand Cardstock. So I made a bit of a substitution. I kept the Sahara Sand Cardstock as a layering piece, but used Crumb Cake for the trees and Tip Top Taupe for the sentiment. Beyond that, I had fun coloring the leaves on the repeating tree three different green colors to give them more interest. The card felt a little too plan without a pattern paper (the other side of the envelope paper is dots which looked too busy), so I added a bit of gold foil paper peeking out from behind the tree image. Perfect little pop of shine! To finish the card, I added a nice sentiment and a few Flirty Flamingo Enamel Shapes.

  • Stamps: Totally Trees; Suite Sayings
  • Inks: Crumb Cake; Tip Top Taupe; Old Olive; Pear Pizzazz; Always Artichoke
  • Cardstock: Gold Foil; 2016-2018 In Color Envelope Paper (Flirty Flamingo); Sahara Sand; Old Olive; Whisper White

SSINKTC39: Multicolored Trees

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the technique below.

I love using the baby wipe technique to add another layer of visual interest to my cards. For this one, I had fun experimenting with Totally Trees. I love how my row of multicolored trees came out! Instead of autumn colors, I decided to play with traditional Christmas colors. Very festive! I wanted the trees to be the focal point of the card, so I added a simple sentiment and few layers. At first I had the green cardstock squared up with the white, but on a whim I angle the green cardstock. And surprise, surprise, I loved it slightly askew!
