Silver Falling Snowflakes

Every Christmas, I end up making at least one set of cards with more winter pastel colors. I knew that I wanted to do a sponged card and this color scheme was perfect for the technique! After making my sponged strip, I added some great silver embossed snowflakes slowly falling. All the card needed to finish was a simple sentiment and a few pretty rhinestones.

One Big Beautiful Ornament

Today’s card features one big stamped imaged! I grabbed this stamp set from a FB Stampin’ Up! buying and selling group for really cheap. I don’t know why I never bought it. I love the big ornament and the ability to color it however I like. For these cards, I heat embossed the image in gold, copper, silver, and pewter. From there, I created color groups and started coloring. Pairing the image with a coordinating cardstock and DSP scrap completes my card.

Hanging Ornaments

Today’s card inspiration comes from this card from Amy Koenders @ Stamp with Amy K. I loved the heat embossed hanging ornaments with the fun colored ornaments. I kept the rest simple with some pops of DSP as background and a coordinating ribbon. I pulled ton from my paper scrap stash and retired ribbon stash. I think that is the theme of this year’s Christmas cards.

Lots of Baubles

Today’s card inspiration comes from this card from Linda Dalke. I love the shine on this design and had to make my own! This card definitely took the longest to create of any cards this season, but the results are stunning! I first embossed my ornaments in gold (2), silver (2), pewter, and copper. From there I picked a few color combination to color the ornaments with my Stampin’ Blends. I made two more traditional color ornaments and four frosty winter ornaments. For my sentiment, I kept it simple with a heat embossed Deck the Halls.

Cup of Happiness

Today’s card is just a explosion of fun colors. I adore the Needlepoint Nook DSP which is a surprise. I just usually gravitate to the feminine and country style papers, but this pack is just too beautiful. This pattern isn’t textured, but it sure looks like it! Love the detail. I decided to really showcase the paper and add a simple image of a coffee cup and some accessories. This card just makes me happy.

Fun n Crafty Blog Hop

FNC Blog Hop.jpg

It's time for another fun blog hop from the Fun n Crafty Stampers! Today we are celebrating the launch of the Holiday Catalog featuring cards showcasing various products. I choose to highlight my favorite bundle in the catalog with the Making Christmas Bright Bundle. I love the fun Christmas light images. So I created a card by stamping and punching a ton (and I do mean a ton) of separate bulbs and casings. I found a fancy trick to making stamping and punching easy. I punched out the image from a piece of random scrap paper and used that as a stamping template. So easy! From there, I spent some time varying the colors to create a fun multi-colored light strand. Love this card so much!

I made a few variations:

  • Stamps: Making Christmas Bright
  • Inks: Real Red; Call Me Clover; Flirty Flamingo; Daffodil Delight; Old Olive
  • Cardstock: All is Bright DSP; Old Olive; Real Red; Flirty Flamingo;
  • Accessories: Sheer Old Olive Ribbon; Real Red Ribbon
  • Tools: Stitched Shapes Framelits; Gold Embossing Powder; Christmas Bulb Builder Punch

Blended Beautiful Day

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using our favorite coloring technique. I go back and forth between technique, but currently I really love coloring with the Stampin' Blends. For my card, I stamped the large flower and sentiment from Beautiful Day and heat embossed them with gold powder. From there I choose a few fun colors and started filling in the flowers. Easy peasy with great results!!

A CASE of Mermaids

unique fun Things to Do on New Year's Eve.png

It's officially May which means it's time to say goodbye to all the retiring stamp sets. In total, I'm losing 18 stamp sets from my collection (although a few of those will be kept because I love them so much). Many of these stamp sets are still available, but they are no longer guaranteed. If you want any of the sets features, buy now before they are gone!

For today's cards, I made the first mermaid card (featuring Brusho) for Stamp Club and then went a little crazy and made three more mermaid cards. Except for the Brush card, these designs were all CASEd from great designers all around the web. The first one was a ton of fun layering on the Brusho crystals to create an undersea look. From them I stamped, colored, and die cut my mermaid. I added some layered DSP and a sentiment and finished my card with some bling. Always have to have a bit of bling.

5:19-4.jpg

My second card I CASEd the design from Amy O'Neill @ Amy's Paper Crafts. I replaced a few elements, but I loved the layered circles plus a piece of Calypso Coral ribbon. For a finishing touch, I colored some White Enamel Accents with the Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends.

5:19-1.jpg

This card is a direct CASE from Katrina Duffell @ Ink Paper Girl. I did change the color from pink to purple and added some Copper Thread, but the design is the same. SO cute!

5:19-2.jpg

I've completely lost the link for this CASE, but isn't the little mermaid and glimmer paper just so cute. I love this card so much.

Silver, Black, and Red

For this card, I CASEd this great card from Linda Dalke. I wouldn't have thought about combining silver, black, and red, but I love the effect! It's hard to see in my picture, but the sentiment is wonderfully shiny as it's been heat embossed in silver. I'm in love with the beautiful metallic washi tape including in the Year of Cheer Washi Tape pack. You receive a thin strip of silver, gold, and copper, plus two great pattern rolls. This pack of washi tape will not last through the Christmas season, I've been using them on everything!

Gold Snowflake

Today's post is a simple shiny card with lots of texture! I wanted to created a card with some layered snowflakes. I started with the Winter Wonder Embossing folder and a smaller piece of Whisper White cardstock. Next I layered on a gold foil snowflake. From there, I heat embossed my sentiment in gold and die cut it using the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I bought this framelit set last year and am constantly amazed at how often I pull it out to use. Definitely one of my better investments! Finally, I needed some more shine, so I pulled out the Year of Cheer DSP pack. I was going to use the gold snowflake pattern, but this plaid was the better choice -- a nice contrast to the repeating the snowflakes. For a pop of color, I added a layer of Night of Navy cardstock. and place the whole thing on a white card base. Love this shiny card!
