Washi Tape Christmas

Today’s card set are a CASE from Amy Koenders. I love the simplicity of a big sentiment and some Washi tape. I pulled some sentiments and Washi tape from stash and put together four slightly different cards.

Wonderful Shine

For this card, I CASEd this great card from Cindy @ Paper Craft Crew Challenges. I love making Christmas card with big sentiments! I kept the Wonderful Year stamp set from last year just for that reason. For this card, I stamped my sentiment onto a piece of whisper white, added a Garden Green layer, and put it all on a piece of beautiful gold foil paper. At first, I just saw the Bundle of Love DSP pack as baby paper, but the gold side is just so versatile. I'm sure it will be used a few more times before Christmas. As a finishing touch, I added a couple of punched gold foil snowflakes.

#7 Simple Polka Dots

Today's sketch comes from January 2015.

Very simple card for today. I used some random scrapbook stickers to create my layers. I also stamped some polka dots onto my kraft layer to give a bit more visual interest.

#4 Candlelight Christmas Throwback

Today's sketch comes from January 2017.

For today's card, I pulled out my random retired paper scrap box and found some pieces from SU's Candlelight Christmas DSP pack. I figured out my favorite pattern combos and started layering. To help break up the pattern, I cut out a piece of Real Red cardstock. I added a simple sentiment from last year's stamp set, Wonderful Year. As a final touch, I added this 3D pointsettia.

Wonderful Scraps

What to do with all the scraps of DSP you inevitably have leftover? Make a fun card with them of course! Siimply cut some DSP down to 3/4" x  3 3/4" and create a background pattern. A simple heat embossed sentiment and a few embellishment create a great card! Tomorrow I'll show you another fun way to use your scraps.

Glitter and Bow

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a Christmas card. I went with a fun and simple card that packs a hidden surprise. This cute card started with the fun DSP from Candy Cane Lane. I love the fun pattern and wanted to make sure to highlight it on the card. From there, I added a sentiment, but it turned out just adding a sentiment stamped in Real Red was too boring. Instead, I stamped my sentiment in Versamark and added the Real Red Glitter Embossing Powder to added that something extra to the card. You can't quite tell from the picture, but that sentiment is just full of glitter fun! As a finishing touch, I created a fun bow using my Envelope Punch Board. Such a great card!

  • Stamps: Wonderful Year
  • Inks: Versamark
  • Cardstock: Candy Cane Lane DSP; Crumb Cake; Early Espresso; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Red Glitter Embossing Powder
  • Tools: Circles Framelits; Envelope Punch Board (bow)

SSINKTC39: Multicolored Trees

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the technique below.

I love using the baby wipe technique to add another layer of visual interest to my cards. For this one, I had fun experimenting with Totally Trees. I love how my row of multicolored trees came out! Instead of autumn colors, I decided to play with traditional Christmas colors. Very festive! I wanted the trees to be the focal point of the card, so I added a simple sentiment and few layers. At first I had the green cardstock squared up with the white, but on a whim I angle the green cardstock. And surprise, surprise, I loved it slightly askew!

  • Stamps: Totally Trees; Wonderful Year
  • Inks: Garden Green; Cherry Cobbler; Old Olive; Early Espresso
  • Cardstock: Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate; Garden Green; Real Red

CASEing the Holiday Catalog

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to CASE a card from page 12 of the Holiday Catalog. Here's a pic of some of the creations on page 12. I decided to CASE the Cherry Cobbler based card at the bottom of the pic.

I took the basic idea of layering some dsp and adding a sentiment and a few fussy cut trees. I switched out the dsp for washi tape and added some different embellishments to my card, but the basic idea is the same.

  • Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth; Wonderful year
  • Inks: Emerald Envy; Cherry Cobbler
  • Cardstock: Presents and Pinecones DSP; Cherry Cobbler; Whisper White
