Best Botanicals

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using our favorite die set. I go back and forth between a few sets, but I recently rediscovered my love the Botanical Builder Die Set. Check out all the pieces!

For my card, I decided to showcase a few of the die pieces including the border piece that I seldom use. I picked some fun bright colors and papers. I haven't used all of my Festive Birthday DSP pack and fortunately it has this great subtly patterned sheet of Melon Mambo.  From there, I picked a nice big sentiment from the Friendly Wishes set. Finally I cut out some great layered flowers and added a hint of embellishment with the Perfect White Accents.

Cool Trees

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a Christmas card using nontraditional colors. I decided to go with Rich Razzleberry, Mint Macaron, and Silver. I love the cool look of this card. I embossed the piece of Mint Macaron with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder to give some extra dimension to the card. The trees were stamped from the Foxy Friends stamp set and coordinate with the Perfect Pines Framelits. Unfortunately, I never bought those framelits. Oh well! I just fussy cut the trees. Not a huge deal, but I'm really thinking about buying those framelits now.

  • Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth; Foxy Friends
  • Inks: Rich Razzleberry; Mint Macaron
  • Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry; Mint Macaron; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Metallic Doilies; Rhinestones
  • Tools: Lots of Labels Framelits; Softly Falling Embossing Folder

November 2016 Crafting Goals

  • Think about participating in a new mail class idea -- Two fellow demos are contemplating starting a new by mail class series. I'm thinking about joining in but need to parse our my time and monetary commitments.
  • Post about my upcoming stamp club on Meetup, FB, and blog -- I want to promote my restarting of stamp club in January. Hopefully I will see a few new ladies join. I might also run a Saturday morning club also.
  • October PL -- The usual. I'm adding Q's album into the usual routine.
  • Plan and prep a shoebox swap -- Trying a new event type for late November or early December.
  • Get December's design team cards started (and possibly done) -- Always love to work ahead.
  • Redo my SU wish list -- Waiting for the Occasions catalog to be released to demos in November. Then I need to reevaluate my wish list.

A recap of last month's goals:

  • August/September PL — Success! I somehow got these finished and started laying out October's pages.
  • Start Quentin’s PL album — Success! I got Q's pages started and a few pages even finished.
  • Start The Craft Sea newsletter — Fail
  • Plan November classes/events — Success! I have scheduled, planned, and prepped for two All Occasions Card Buffets and two Christmas Card Buffets plus a crop day.

Happy Halloween!

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a Halloween card. I went super simple with my card today and decided to highlight the fun Halloween Night DSP. I love the fun mix of patterns and classic Halloween colors. I did add some silver foil washi tape to the one piece of paper and a little stamped sentiment to finish out the card. Now it's time to go celebrate Halloween with massive amounts of candy!

  • Stamps: Labeler Alphabet
  • Inks: Pumpkin Pie
  • Cardstock: Halloween Night DSP; Smoky Slate; Pumpkin Pie; Basic Gray; Whisper White

Candy Cane Lane Box

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a 3D Project. I choose a cute little box featuring the beautiful Candy Cane Lane DSP. This box looks complicated, but I assure you, it's super easy to put together. I followed the directions from Angie Kennedy Juda's great little video. As an added bonus, it took me less than 10 minutes to finish. Perfect for little gifts.

A side view of the box. This would be perfect to put a few chocolates into.

  • Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth
  • Inks: Real Red
  • Cardstock: Candy Cane Lane DSP; Early Espresso; Whisper White

Moroccan Star

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a washi tape card. I ended up directly CASEing a beautiful card from Leanne Johnson @ Literally My Joy. I rediscovered her card while searching for some way to incorporate washi tape and make a fun card for my card buffet class. I changed up the sentiment and colors, but kept the simple design. I love it!

  • Inks: Early Espresso
  • Cardstock: Cajun Craze; Delightful Dijob; Very Vanilla
  • Accessories: Moroccan Washi Tape

Jar of Stars

Today's card is one I'm offering at my Christmas Card Buffet. (Click here to join my Meetup group and RSVP) I tried to have a mix of colors, designs. and products. This card is using some of the retired DSP I have stashed away. I decided to go with a nontraditional color scheme. I love the end result. The jar of stars is a cute alternative to a Christmas tree on your Christmas card.

  • Stamps:Jar of Love; old SU sentiment
  • Inks: Real Red; Basic Gray
  • Cardstock:Winter Frost DSP (retired); Real Red; Pool Party; Smoky Slate; Whisper White; Silver Glimmer Paper
  • Accessories:

SSINKTC38: Spooky Skeleton

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the technique below.

I decided to use my colored and embossed piece of cardstock to frame this little spooky skeleton. I'm especially fond of the polka dot pattern paper peeking through the oval and the edges. As a finishing touch, I added some Pumpkin Pie enamel dots to help "bling" up my card.

  • Stamps: Cookie Cutter Halloween; Labeler Alphabet
  • Inks: Pumpkin Pie; Craft White
  • Cardstock: Halloween Night DSP; Pumpkin Pie; Whisper White; Basic Black
  • Accessories: Halloween Night Enamel Dots
  • Tools: Woodgrain Embossing Folder; Ovals Framelits
