Spring Jar of Flowers

Today's card is a riot of spring flowers. When I want to make a colorful card, I often turn to the Jar of Love stamp set and coordinating Framelits. I love making floral cards! For this one, I layered a ton of flowers to create my jar of flowers, heat embossed a piece of vellum to create the jar, and added a ton fo fun texture to finish the card. I've been playing with texture lately and love how this card has real texture (ribbon, tinsel, embossed panel) and perceived texture (wood grain dsp). Such a great all occasions card!

Riding with Van Gogh

Today's card is part of my die cuts class (January - March). I knew I wanted to build a bike for one of our cards. Once deciding on a color palette, I started adding accessories for my bike. I picked this great sentiment from the Just Add Text set to compliment my scene. As a final touch, I stamped some leaves and flowers. Love this cute card; it reminds me of spring.

P.S. In my mind, the dog is named Van Gogh...

Fall Bingo - Decor and Goody Bags

Last Saturday, I held my second Stampin' Up! Bingo Party. It was so much fun! For this time, I went with a fall theme even though it was over 100 degrees this past weekend. This week, I'll be sharing the projects I prepped and the make n takes from the party.

Today's post is all about the decor and goody bags. I didn't go overboard, but I just had to make something cute to be put on the table. I found a tutorial online for this adorable little treat boxes. Once I stamped and die cut the jars, I added some cute punched scarecrows from last year's stamp set. Inside, there are bags of M&Ms tied with with some great retired Delightful Dijon ribbon.

For the goody bags, I bought some plain kraft gift bags in bulk. Seriously I got 50 bags for super cheap. Thanks Amazon! For there, I found some leftover die cut flowers from about three years ago. I used the patterns and colors as my palette. I punched some tags and stamped them all over with the retired Four Feathers stamp set. I finished off the tags with copper thread and the rest of the feathers. The tags were attached to the bags with some great retired Blackberry Bliss Ribbon.

Ride from the Flower Market

Today's challenge was to use two of my current favorite colors. I am loving Fresh Fig and Island Indigo and they look amazing together! I stamped the back end of the bicycle and added some pretty flowers. I also snuck in a few fireflies from the Jar of Love stamp set. I mounted my bicycle on a piece of Fresh Fig and went to dig for some DSP. In my scrap stash, I had this piece of fun dotted DSP from the Scenic Sayings Paper Stack (retired). Perfect pattern to show off my bicycle but not compete with it.

  • Inks: Fresh Fig, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist, Early Espresso
  • Cardstock: Scenic Sayings DSP (retired), Fresh Fig, Island Indigo, Whisper White

A Touch of Ribbon

I bought the gorgeous Night of Navy Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon weeks ago and it has just say on my desk. How have I not used this yet? The ribbon is just so great to work with. It's thin and easy to tie into a ribbon. But it also looks great as just a strip on a card. After deciding on using the ribbon on some card, I started pulling ink colors and DSP to coordinate. I ended up with two jars full of flowers. I love all the patterns and textures of this card. So cute!

  • Stamps: Jar of Love
  • Inks: Early Espresso; Dapper Denim; Soft Sky; Daffodil Delight; Crushed Curry; Flirty Flamingo; Watermelon Wonder; Pear Pizzazz

Marvelous Mint Macaron

Hello everyone! With the close of every Stampin' Up Annual Catalog, we have to say goodbye to five In Colors. This May, we will be losing the following colors:

Initially I wasn't a huge fan of these colors. It seemed to be a odd combination. But over the past two years, I have grown to like all of the colors. In fact, I have grown to love love love Mint Macaron. It will be sad to lose these colors, but I am devastated to lose Mint Macaron. Hands down my favorite! Today I'm celebrating Mint Macaron and giving it a proper sendoff with three fun cards!

My first card is actually one I made using a ton of retired products. I don't usually hang on to retired stamp sets (preferring to sell them and get new ones), but I have kept two sets that get pulled out time and time again: Four You and Four Feathers! This great monochrome triptych features both of those retired sets plus one current set (Timeless Textures) and a great accessory (Mint Macaron Striped Ribbon). Simple card, yet it highlights the color beautifully.

  • Stamps: Four Feathers (retired); Four You (retired); Timeless Textures
  • Inks: Mint Macaron
  • Cardstock: Mint Macaron; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Mint Macaron Striped Ribbon
  • Tools:

Card two features a Holiday Catalog stamp set that is carrying over! I immediately fell for the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set and Punch and love that I can use it beyond Christmas time. The little suit stamp is perfect as a teddy bear. And I love the color combination of Mint Macaron and Crumb Cake. The soft colors make a great gender neutral baby card. This card also features the In Color DSP pack. I love these packs for great background pieces. SU sells the DSP packs in both In Color collections, Brights, Regals, Subtles, and Neutrals.

  • Stamps: Cookie Cutter Christmas; Suite Sayings
  • Inks: Mint Macaron; Crumb Cake; Chocolate Chip
  • Cardstock: 2015-2017 In Color DSP; Neutrals DSP; Mint Macaron; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Mint Macaron Striped Ribbon
  • Tools: Cookie Cutter Punch; Layering Circles Framelits

Finally I am featuring my favorite color combination: Mint Macaron and Rich Razzleberry. Purple is my favorite color and I love the green and purple combo of these two colors. I am again featuring the In Color DSP as my background paper. I kept the main image of the card fairly simple with a jar full of flowers.

  • Stamps: Jar of Love
  • Inks: Sweet Sugarplum; Rich Razzleberry; Mint Macaron; Smoky Slate
  • Cardstock: 2015-2017 In Color DSP; Mint Macaron; Whisper White
  • Accessories:
  • Tools: Everyday Jars Framelits

Super sad that we only have a few weeks left with Mint Macaron, but hey, maybe they will eventually bring it back when Stampin' Up does another color refresh. A girl can dream, right?

Jar of Heart Flowers

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a Valentine's Day or love card. I don't send out Valentine's Day cards, so I decided to make a more generic love card. I love how thus one turned out. I stamped the jar onto my piece of white and also onto the DSP. I then die the DSP to "fill" the jars. Hint: cut down the die cut DSP just a bit so that it fills the jar instead of covering it up. I then stamped the steams and created my heart flowers. Such a pretty card!

  • Stamps: Jar of Love
  • Inks: Old Olive; Chocolate Chip
  • Cardstock: Blooms and Bliss DSP; Gold Foil; Sweet Sugarplum; Whisper White
  • Accessories:
  • Tools:Everyday Jar Framelits; Baker's Box Thinlits (heart shape)

Jar of Stars

Today's card is one I'm offering at my Christmas Card Buffet. (Click here to join my Meetup group and RSVP) I tried to have a mix of colors, designs. and products. This card is using some of the retired DSP I have stashed away. I decided to go with a nontraditional color scheme. I love the end result. The jar of stars is a cute alternative to a Christmas tree on your Christmas card.

  • Stamps:Jar of Love; old SU sentiment
  • Inks: Real Red; Basic Gray
  • Cardstock:Winter Frost DSP (retired); Real Red; Pool Party; Smoky Slate; Whisper White; Silver Glimmer Paper

SSINKIC38: Jar of Bats

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the inspiration picture:

I decided to make a Halloween card using the colors I found in the picture. I want to featured the great Halloween Night DSP and the Pumpkin Pie Glitter Paper. From there, I decided to add some Halloween stamps but didn't want to just use one of the big images from the Cookie Cutter Halloween set. Instead, I used the cute little bat in the set. Instead of just stamping the bat, I filled a jar full of bats and had them spill out. Such a fun card!

  • Stamps: Cookie Cutter Halloween; Labeler Alphabet; Jar of Love
  • Inks: Pumpkin Pie; Basic Black; Basic Gray
  • Cardstock: Halloween Night DSP; Pumpkin Pie Glitter Paper; Pumpkin Pie; Smoky Slate; Basic Gray
  • Accessories:
  • Tools: Everyday Jars Framelits
