Not quite so much stuff on my desk right now, but there are still a ton of piles…
Desktop Tuesday #2
Working on my planner and my memory planner this week. Really hoping to finish my 2020 Memory Planner and put it away and get my 2021 one started.
Currently
Reading: Scythe by Neal Shusterman. It’s been on my list and comes highly recommended by many bloggers. I’m enjoying it so far.
Watching: We’re a week into New-to-Us movie month. It’s going really well right now. We’ve watched some decent movies and a couple of good documentaries.
Listening: I’ve had A Day to Remember on repeat for about a week now. Really really digging the new songs.
Making: I finally got back into our 52 Desserts and Snacks projects with two different recipes this week.
Feeling: It’s so incredibly cold this week! The highs are all in the single digits. It’s too cold to even play outside right now.
Planning: I’ve got a huge list of Valentine’s crafts. I really need to look at the list and find a few that we can do on Saturday morning.
Loving: It’s cold and I need hot tea every night!

Reading: I finally started Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series with The Duke and I . I’m about 75% of the way through it and loving every page (except for that one bedroom scene, so many problems). I’m hoping to read at least the next three books before starting the TV series.
Watching: J convinced me to start watching Lupin S1 and I’m really digging it. It’s a lovely action, spy-style show with quite a bit of mystery and humor. As it’s in French, we have to read the subtitled version which is fine except for when I have a nasty headache. Consequently, we aren’t burning through the series like we usually do. We’ve only watched the first three episodes so far.
Listening: Still loving Currently Reading. I joined their Patreon in December, so I had a ton of back podcasts to listen to from the members only section. And they are putting out a ton of great new content on the main podcast feed. I’m all about Meredith and Kaytee (and Mindy and Mary) right now!
Making: Our 2021 Food Project of 52 Weeks of Desserts and Snacks is off to a great start. After two dessert recipes, I’m turning to more breakfast style baked goods for the rest of January. I made Earl Grey Tea Bread earlier this week and hope to make Banana Bread Baked Oatmeal later this week.
Feeling: Being stuck in our house all day every day with no real hope of outside activities is really getting to me. I’m so grateful to have a home with some space, but we are all still here together for the foreseeable future. I’m really mourning the days when we could do activities outside of our home.
Planning: As to the previous point, I think I’m going to try and schedule a zoo day this week. The zoo is usually very sparsely attended during a normal January. I’m hoping that there will be even less people so we enjoy the Jungle Building, Desert Dome, Aquarium, and maybe even the giraffes and elephants. Also wondering if we can get to the sea lion exhibit without walking the long way around outside (must inquire at the check-in…). I’m thinking maybe Thursday before or after the library.
Loving: I’m all about a hot cup of coffee in the morning and a hot cup of tea in the afternoon (during reading time) or in the evening (during TV with J time).
Desktop Tuesday #1
No actual crafting on my desk right this minute. I’m using my space to prep homeschool for this semester. And I have my current library book hanging out right there on top!
But under my desk, I have this giant mess to deal with. Obviously I finished all my Christmas cards, but before I put away the Christmas supplies, I do need to pull things to do December Daily for 2020. So I really need to spend some time this week organizing this pile. Sneak peek into my new craft storage system. I’m working on a big craft room tour post for later this month. Still need to clean the floor obviously.

Reading: I just started When Women Ruled by Kara Cooney. It’s about the six queens of ancient Egypt. I’m only on the first queen, but it’s fascinating. Turns out I knew very little about the First Dynasty of ancient Egypt.
Watching: J and I are making our way through S3 of Broadchurch, but it’s so very heavy. To lighten up our nights, we started watching Holey Moley S1. A mini golf competition crossed with Wipe Out? We’re totally here for this!
Listening: Palaye Royale’s new album The Bastards dropped this week. Oh so incredibly good!
Making: I did manage to make a couple of homemade loaves of bread this week.
Feeling: For the past four days, I’ve really felt off. I’ve had a fever off and on, body aches, nausea, and headache. It’s been terrible…
Planning: Meal planning like every week…
Loving: I figured out the “Over Ice” feature on my coffee maker and have been making iced coffee all week. So nice when I want coffee but it’s 90 degrees.
Currently
Reading: Hollowland by Amanda Hocking - I definitely needed a good zombie adventure flick.
Watching: We finished S1 of Living With Yourself and it was weirdly delightful.
Listening: Loving the Currently Reading podcast for great book discussions. I really enjoy that they don’t get distracted by other topics but focus on the books!
Making: Finally getting moving on 2019 Family Project Life album. Almost done with January’s pages.
Feeling: We’ve officially reached 90 degrees here and it’s terrible. We had to put the AC on and I really enjoy having the windows open for the breeze.
Planning: I’m craving some homemade desserts, but there are so many options. I’m thinking a Lemon Pistachio Olive Oil Cake or Smores Cookies.
Loving: Speaking of desserts, I finishing a sleeve of raspberry jaffa cakes and they are so yummy.

I’m actually in between projects right now. I finished my 2019 Week in the Life album on Sunday. I started prepping for my 2020 Week in the Life album, but am currently documenting so the supplies are just on hold. I should pull out my Memory Planner and finish my May pages next.
Currently
Reading: I’m rereading Circe by Madeline Miller for May’s Girly Book Club. I’m also finishing The Deep by Alma Katsu.
Watching: Continuing our May Movie Month. We just did a string of three YA scifi movies: The Darkest Minds (terrible), Mortal Engines (very pretty, but not great), and Alita: Battle Angel (confusing).
Listening: Lots of podcasts like usual, but I always make time for Corona Virus Daily from NPR.
Making: Working on various Project Life pages. I’m still finishing Arthur’s 2018 album, but have started the family 2019 album and the WITL 2019 album.
Feeling: Life with the teenagers has been pretty tense this past week. Not quite sure what’s going on right now, but hoping we can get to the bottom of this conflict soon.
Planning: Arthur is officially done with Kindergarten, but we’re not going to stop learning. As we cannot really visit various places, I’m setting up weekly theme units to get us through the summer. First up is Art History with lots of hands-on projects.
Loving: I picked up some stacks of rhubarb from the grocery and have really enjoyed the strawberry-rhubarb crumble I made from them.
Currently
Reading: Things in Jars by Jess Kidd - One of my Book of the Month selections. It’s a strange story reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes with a dash of actual fantasy thrown in. I’m really digging it so far!
Watching: We’re currently balancing a light show (Making It S2) and a dark show (Broadchurch S2) before we embark on a movie week.
Listening: Randomly picking albums to listen to while making meals. The other day is was Invented from Jimmy Eat World.
Making: Back at the Project Life spreads. I’m so close to finishing Arthur’s 2018 Album. Just about 50 more photos to print. and a few more weeks to journal.
Feeling: Tired. This whole thing has exhausted me daily. Sleeping 8 hours isn’t even touching my exhaustion.
Planning: We’re shooting for the grocery store once every two - two and half weeks. That means I really need to get creative about what to buy and when so things do not go bad before using.
Loving: With all the crazy, I have found time to read daily. Working in at least an hour every day.
