Blue Candles

I always have to throw in some nontraditional color Christmas cards. I loved the repeating candle image, so I made that part of my background. I added a bit of DSP from an old retired set. Finally I added the great sentiment from the Merry Patterns set and some rhinestones. Love this card!

A Collection of Quilts

Merry Christmas Everyone! The boys and I are at my mom's house in Indiana snuggling up to stay warm and enjoying our lazy day. Today's card is the last of my Christmas cards to share with you this year. Simply make a quilt from all the little pieces! In this case, I used the smallest square from the Stitched Shapes Framelits set and die cut 12 squares for each card. If you look, I ended up die cutting 96 squares to make this collection. A lot of cranking! But it was worth it create this amazing collection of cards. And I used use a ton of small scraps laying around. Win win!

Fun n' Crafty Blog Hop December 2016

Welcome to the Fun n’ Crafty Blog Hop for December. This month's theme is metallics. Pull out all the shiny and get to stamping! For my card, I wanted to use one my favorite embellishments: the metallic foil doilies. I love how the package comes with gold and silver foil in two different sizes. I've used these so much that I'm on my third package! To help highlight the shine, I stamped a simple greeting onto a white circle and had the doily frame my centerpiece. I added more texture to the card with the embossing folder, but kept the patterns simple with just a small strip of DSP. Hop along below to see what the other FNC ladies made with their shiny pieces!

Variation using retired DSP.

  • Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth
  • Inks: Cherry Cobbler; Island Indigo
  • Cardstock: Presents & Pinecones DSP; Cherry Cobbler; Emerald Envy; Mint Macaron; Winter Frost DSP (retired); Island Indigo; Pool Party; Whisper White

Razzle and Pool Trees

Another great Christmas card buffet card for today. This one utilizes some great retired Stampin' Up DSP that I still had laying around the house. I pulled the Pool Party from the DSP to create a nontraditionally colored Christmas card. I layered on some stamped trees to create more visual interest. Then I went a little crazy with the embellishments. The card cried for some bling (hence the rhinestones), but the sentiment looked to plain by itself on the paper. The two ribbons layered underneath helped to fill that void. As an afterthought, I pulled out these great little snowflake brads. Perfect touch!

  • Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth; Foxy Friends
  • Inks: Pool Party; Rich Razzleberry
  • Cardstock: Winter Frost DSP (retired); Rich Razzleberry; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Rhinestones; Rich Razzleberry Ribbon; Pool Party Ribbon (retired); Snowflake brads (non-SU)
  • Tools: Lots of Labels Framelits

Jar of Stars

Today's card is one I'm offering at my Christmas Card Buffet. (Click here to join my Meetup group and RSVP) I tried to have a mix of colors, designs. and products. This card is using some of the retired DSP I have stashed away. I decided to go with a nontraditional color scheme. I love the end result. The jar of stars is a cute alternative to a Christmas tree on your Christmas card.
