SSINKCC45: Two-Toned Birthday

This week I'm participating in the SSINK Color Challenge!

SSINKCC45 (1920).jpg

I'm so incredibly sad that the Endless Birthday Wishes Stamp Set is retiring at the end of May. It's just so versatile! For this card, I decided to play with textures and patterns. Very rarely do I layer pieces on top of embossed pieces, but this was perfect! Delightful Dijon wasn't my favorite of the 2015-2017 In Colors, but it does look very nice with Pacific Point. Love this great birthday card.

  • Stamps: Endless Birthday Wishes
  • Inks: Pacific Point; Delightful Dijon
  • Cardstock: 2015-2017 In Color DSP; Pacific Point; Delightful Dijon; Whisper White

Sneaky Chicks

Today’s card features one of the many Sale-a-Bration offerings. Remember that you only have until March 31st to get your own free SAB item. order now! I didn't initially order the Hey Chicks stamp set, but after seeing all the cute examples, I could resist! I made this card featuring these fun and crazy chickens colored with multiple markers. I decided to make them look different by using a different combination. I then die cut and embossed a layer of Cajun Craze to create their chicken coop. A piece of the Urban Underground DSP in Delightful Dijon paired perfectly with my colors and added some fun pattern.

Hello Spring Bee!

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a spring card. Around my house spring means bees hanging out in the bushes near my front walk. So I decided to make a spring card featuring the delightful bumblebee from the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set. I can't believe this is the first card I've made using the bee. Apparently I was really fixated on the dragonfly image. I stamped my bee (two layer stamping) and cut him out by hand. There is a die cut corresponding to the bee but I would have lost the color if I die cut it. From there, I stamped some fun spring blooms and added a sentiment to one layer. The top layer is embossed using the Hexagons Embossing Folder and then sponged with some Delightful Dijon to create a pseudo honeycomb. Love this cute little card so much I featured it at March's stamp club.

  • Stamps: Labeler Alphabet; Blooms and Wishes; Dragonfly Dreams

Textured Framed Bloom

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card with a forgotten favorite from the annual catalog. I resisted when I first saw this set, but eventually I bought the Birthday Blooms stamp set. And ever since, I have loved it so much! i use this set all the time. I love to change how it looks. I love to color it in different ways using different colors. For this card, I took my design from a previous card. I kept it very simple with a fun texture layer as a base. On top, I stamped the bloom, colored it, and drew a frame to help feature the bloom. I oh so love this card!

Sweater Tag

My countdown to Christmas continues with this lovely card full of pattern and texture. The Cable Knit Embossing Folder is an amazing way to create visual and tactile interest on your cards. I added a strip of DSP from the Warmth and Cheer Stack to continue the sweater theme. From there I finished the card with a simple tag and a few embellishments. And the card features my favorite Christmas color combination of Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green.

  • Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth
  • Inks: Cherry Cobbler; Garden Green
  • Cardstock: Warmth & Cheer DSP; Cherry Cobbler; Early Espresso; Very Vanilla
  • Accessories: Gold Sequin Trim; Cherry Cobbler Twine

A Warm Christmas

Can you tell how much I love the Wrapped in Warmth Stamp Set? The greetings are so perfect for all my cards. For this card, I played with layering different pieces of cardstock, one DSP strip and one embossed strip, to create an interesting backdrop for my doily and sentiment. Note the fun stitching around the sentiment. I have totally fallen for the Stitched Shapes Framelits. So glad I bought those last month.

  • Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth
  • Inks: Cherry Cobbler
  • Cardstock: Warmth & Cheer DSP; Garden Green; Basic Black; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Doilies
  • Tools: Stitched Shapes Framelits; Cable Knit Embossing Folder

Let It Snow

Welcome to the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration blog hop! This month we are creating winter themed cards. As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 2 on the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Blog Hop – Darcy @ Dj's Stampin' Place. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn’t work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

I played around with a few designs and color schemes before settling on this fun and wintery shaker snowman. While the design is simple, the card has a ton of fun elements to punch it up. I embossed the piece of Whisper White, added more shape to my snowman with the die cut, and added some fun silver and Flirty Flamingo stars. While I live in California (the part where it doesn't snow), the boys and I are spending Christmas at my mom's house in Indiana. And we get some actual snow this year! So to everyone in cold climates, let it snow!

  • Stamps: Labeler Alphabet
  • Inks: Flirty Flamingo
  • Cardstock: Flirty Flamingo; Mint Macaron; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Metallic Sequins; Metallic Enamel Shapes; 2016-2018 In Color Enamel Shapes
  • Tools: Lots of Labels Die; Softly Falling Embossing Folder; Variety of Circle Punches

SSINKCS40: Classic Christmas

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the sketch below.

I had this leftover stamped sentiment from the My Hero stamp set still sitting on my desk. This sketch was the perfect place for it! I layered on some fun green dsp from the This Christmas packet, but something was missing. Instead of using dsp or a solid piece of cardstock, I decided to emboss some Real Red to compliment the sentiment. Perfect idea!

  • Stamps: My Hero
  • Inks: Real Red
  • Cardstock: This Christmas DSP; Real Red; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Rhinestones
  • Tools: Circles Framelits; Softly Falling Embossing Folder

Fun n' Crafty Blog Hop December 2016

Welcome to the Fun n’ Crafty Blog Hop for December. This month's theme is metallics. Pull out all the shiny and get to stamping! For my card, I wanted to use one my favorite embellishments: the metallic foil doilies. I love how the package comes with gold and silver foil in two different sizes. I've used these so much that I'm on my third package! To help highlight the shine, I stamped a simple greeting onto a white circle and had the doily frame my centerpiece. I added more texture to the card with the embossing folder, but kept the patterns simple with just a small strip of DSP. Hop along below to see what the other FNC ladies made with their shiny pieces!

Variation using retired DSP.

  • Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth
  • Inks: Cherry Cobbler; Island Indigo
  • Cardstock: Presents & Pinecones DSP; Cherry Cobbler; Emerald Envy; Mint Macaron; Winter Frost DSP (retired); Island Indigo; Pool Party; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Metallic Foil Doilies
  • Tools: Circle Framelits; Softly Falling Embossing Folder

Winter Thanks

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using one of our tree stamps. I decided to highlight the very versatile Sheltering Tree stamp.

In fact, I have a few Sheltering Tree cards coming this month. I loved taking the bare tree, stamping some "snow", and then adding texture and shine to the card.

  • Stamps: Sheltering Tree; Labeler Alphabet
  • Inks: Soft Sky; Night of Navy; Early Espresso
  • Cardstock: Soft Sky; Night of Navy; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Metallic Foil Doilies; Silver and White Twine (nonSU)
  • Tools: Softly Falling Embossing Folder
