Mermaid in the Sea

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a shaker card. I immediately knew that I wanted to make a fun mermaid in the sea shaker card! I took a piece of DSP that reminded me of the sea and stamped on a few bubbles and seahorses. From there I stamped, colored, and die cut my mermaid. I propped her up on dimensionally and added a ton of sequins. I kept my overall piece simple with a piece of patterned paper, a sentiment, and a few sequins for embellishments.

Lots of Love CASE

Today's card is a straight CASE (Copy and Share Everything) from the Stampin' Up! catalog. I just love the multitude of layers, textures, and patterns of this card. I loved this card so much that it will be a featured card at October's Stamp Club.

On the High Seas

Today's post features a card we made at September's stamp club. I bought the Message in a Bottle stamp set for Arthur and Quentin's pirate themed birthday party (not until October 7th), but of course I was going to make more cards using it. I love the little bottle that can filled with a variety of ocean themed objects. For this card, I decided on a ship in a bottle. I stamped the water onto my paper and onto a piece of scrap paper. To them cut the water out of my scrap paper to create a mask for when I stamped my ship. I wanted the ship to be floating in the water.  From there I added some white chalk marker to my sails and a bit to the water. I stamped my sentiment and stamped a little gray heart that I them glittered up with some Wink of Stella. From there I die cut my image, added my background pieces, and finally added a few sequins.

Simple Washi Tape Card

A duo of fun and simple washi tape cards. I have an entire bin of washi tape just sitting in my cabinets. I decided I really need to use them more. So I pulled out some fun retired Stampin' Up! washi tape to create these two different cards. First I hand drew a fun little border on my white cardstock. Then I adhered some washi tape strips. From there, I added a nice sentiment (seriously love the Better Together Stamp Set for great bigger sentiments). To finish, I added some sequins. Simple, yet great cards!

  • Inks: Basic Black; Melon Mambo
  • Cardstock: Melon Mambo; Smoky Slate; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Gold Sequins Trim; Silver Sequin Trim; Variety of Stampin' Up! washi tape (retired)

Mint Kindness

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using one of our favorite retiring punches. Hands down, my favorite retiring punches are the coordinating butterfly punches: Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly. I think they have been my most used punch since I bought them four years ago. Love them so much! This card celebrates the butterflies by coordinating them with a retiring stamp set, Kinda Eclectic, a retiring DSP, and two retiring colors. This card just makes me so happy!

Here for You

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a Congratulations or Graduation card. I went a little untraditional with my graduation card, but I think this would be a great card to give to that special graduate. I used some of the scraps of the Cupcakes and Carousels DSP pack to create a basic background. From there I added a sentiment from the retiring Friendly Wishes Stamp Set. The card seemed a bit plain, so I added a couple of punched butterflies. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the butterflies were stamped before punched. The stamping adds just a bit more texture to the card. I finished off the card with some coordinating sequins.

  • Stamps: Friendly Wishes; Papillon Potpurri
  • Inks: Bermuda Bay
  • Cardstock: Cupcakes and Carousels DSP; Bermuda Bay; Daffodil Delight; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim
  • Tools: Elegant Butterfly Punch; Bitty Butterfly Punch

Peekaboo Cheers

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using one of the new SAB items. Upon their release I immediately acquired the Glimmer Paper Assortment pack and the Reverse Words stamp set. For this card, I inked my "Cheers" image using the Peekaboo Peach ombre stamp pad. From there, I layered on some DSP and finished off the card with a flower and a few accessories.

Carousel for a Friend

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using elements of the Cupcakes and Carousels suite. I haven't bought the stamp set from the suite, but I couldn't resist the patterned paper. For this card, I pulled all the papers featuring the Bemuda Bay and So Saffron color combo. From there, I pulled some Early Espresso cardstock to create my color trio. I played around with layering the papers until I found a combo I really loved. To add texture, I embossed my piece of Bermuda Bay using the new Hexagons Embossing Folder. To finish my card, I glued on some sequin strands.

  • Stamps: Friendly Wishes
  • Inks: Bermuda Bay
  • Cardstock: Cupcakes & Carousels DSP; Bermuda Bay; So Saffron; Early Espresso
  • Accessories: Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim
  • Tools: Hexagons Embossing Folder

Wonderful Scraps

What to do with all the scraps of DSP you inevitably have leftover? Make a fun card with them of course! Siimply cut some DSP down to 3/4" x  3 3/4" and create a background pattern. A simple heat embossed sentiment and a few embellishment create a great card! Tomorrow I'll show you another fun way to use your scraps.

  • Accessories: Gold Sequin Trim; Emerald Envy Metallic Thread
