Spooky Jack-O-Lantern

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a Halloween card. I don't make many Halloween cards, but I love the holiday. Thankfully I bought the great Sparkly Seasons stamp set and Seasonal Frames die that includes Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas images.

I also bought the beautiful new black glimmer paper. I had to include that paper into my card somehow. I stamped and die cut this cute jack-o-lantern and adhered it to a little rectangle of black glimmer paper. I thought it looked a little plain on the piece of Tangerine Tango, so I added some newly bought Timeless Elegance DSP. It still looked a little plain, so I added some washi tape on top of the Very Vanilla stripes. Much better! Now this is a Halloween card!

SSINK Mystery Supply Challenge

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. This was the second month for our new mystery supply challenge. Each of the design team members sent three embellishments/supply pieces to another team member. The receiving team member had to create a card using the sent supplies. Sounds like so much fun! Check out what I sent and what she made on the main page. I received these supplies from Darcy Johnson: stamped images from Snow Place and Six Sayings (hostess) and a piece of white glitter ribbon.

Obviously I was going to make a Christmas card, but what to add to it?  I d decided to go simple and make the mystery supplies the focus of the card. I cut down the sentiment, added a card base and coordinating strip of color. And finally I embossed the piece of smoky slate for texture. Easy peasy card, but oh so cute!

  • Stamps: Snow Place; Six Sayings
  • Inks: Night of Navy; Basic Gray
  • Cardstock: Night of Navy; Smoky Slate; Pool Party; Whisper White
  • Accessories: White Glitter Ribbon
  • Tools: Decorative Dots Embossing Folder

I sent these supplies to Sara Grafton. Pop on over to Craft Break see what she created.

SSINKMC25: Drip Dry Pumpkin

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using our Mystery Challenge Rules. What to do? I decided to include a pumpkin, watercolor, and a framelit.

I saw a new watercolor technique on Pinterest a few weeks back. I had to try is out! Basically you wet your watercolor paper, squirt some ink onto the top of the paper, and hold it up to let it drip down. This was my first attempt at the technique, but I'm sure I'll be trying it again soon! After adding the pumpkin, I layered some DSP and a stamped image. I finished the card with some burlap twine.

  • Stamps: Seasonal Snapshot 2015; Sparkly Seasons

Sunday Haul #30

My Stampin' Up club order for September: Soft Sky ink pad, Cajun Craze ink pad, Neutrals DSP, and Gold Embossing  Powder.

I popped into Michael's for snail and also bought some Happy Planner accessories. That was the first time that I saw the Happy Planner and accessories in any Michael's. Too bad I already own most of the stickers...

Lastly, my Peachy Cheap order arrived. I received four different SNAP card and die cut packs: school, fall, Halloween, and Christmas. I can't wait to incorporate these into my PL albums.

Retreat Crafts

Twice a year, I host a weekend retreat for some of the ladies from my parent group. And of course, I can't resist making some little crafty items.  This year I made bags to hold all our goodies and little thank you cards. The bags are simple plain kraft bags. I added a stamped layered flower. The paper is from a random paper stack from Recollections while the stamp and die cut are from SU. I also added name tags to each bag. The paper is from the same paper stack. I added a little flower and pearl and alphas. The "ribbon" is actually washi tape that I folded in half to attach to the bag.

The thank you cards were made form the same paper stack. I created seven different cards in a rainbow of colors. The stamp was a random stamp I found at Michael's that I heat embossed. The washi is a mix of random and SU washi.

As a last minute craft idea, I made these cute candy holders from my Baker's Box thinlits. Each one is filled with Hershey's Kisses, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and Dove Chocolates. Just a little extra something. And the boxes looked gorgeous arranged in a nice rainbow of colors.

  • Stamps: Hello Life; Four You (retired); Homemade for You; random non-SU stamp

Diamond Anniversary

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using some of our favorite products. Currently I am in love with the sentiment stamp set Happy Happenings. I love having a variety of good sentiments in great fonts. This set delivers.

This card was a 60th Anniversary card for my grandparents. I stuck with a Rich Razzleberry, black, white, and Dazzling Diamonds color palette. Did you know that the 60th Anniversary is the Diamond Anniversary? I didn't until I looked it up, but now that I know I had to make a card featuring diamonds. I added a great sentiment and some die cut pieces to fill out the card.

  • Stamps: Happy Happenings
  • Inks: Rich Razzleberry
  • Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry; Whisper White; Basic Black; Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper
  • Accessories: Metallics Sequin Assortment; Tea Lace Paper Doilies
  • Tools: Floral Frames Framelits

Let It Snow

Today's card is featured over at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration and features my favorite bundle from the Holiday Catalog. Turn to page 40 and you'll spy this great bundle including Sparkly Seasons and Seasonal framelits!

I had to buy this bundle! I made this card for our demo swap. I wanted to play with the snowglobe image. I stamped the snowman but he seemed a little plain. So I grabbed some markers and colored his hat and scarf.  Better but not done. Finally it dawned on me to add some snow. It's subtle, but I love the falling snow inside the snowglobe. Very festive!

SSINKIC25: Fall Outfit

Today's card is featured over at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration and features a fun photo inspiration challenge!

I decided to take the colors from the photo and run... I saw a great card online where they embossing silver paper to create a tin ceiling look. I loved the idea so I adapted it to my card. The Hardwood Embossing Folder was the perfect choice. Next I made my butterfly. I played around with all my blues until I found a combination that I really liked. For an extra pop, I added a die cut small butterfly in gold. Perfect! Layering the butterfly on top of a piece of Mint Maracon DSP and a punched sentiment finished my card.
