More Stacked Snowmen

Today’s card is a repeat of my the stacked snowmen from Lots of Cheer stamp set. I pulled out two more colored snowmen and tried to decide how to feature the image. I landed on a watercolored piece of paper to serve as a backdrop. From there I layered more cardstock and a piece of scrap DSP to create my base. I added a tone on tone sentiment, popped up the snowman on dimensionals, and finished the card with a glittery chipboard star.

Big Purple Flower

3.png

Today’s card features another watercolor image. I previously colored the large butterfly image in the Beautiful Day stamp set and thought today I would color the large flower. Of course I had to make it purple and feature my favorite retiring color, Fresh Fig. I kept the rest of the card pretty simple to highlight my flower.

Unicorn Rainbow

3.png

Today’s card is a fun watercolor background. Every once in a while, I love to get out a ton of ink and make some watercolor backgrounds. For this one, I created a rainbow using nine different color inks. I love how it all blends together. Once I created my background, I stamped and colored a fun colorful unicorn to add on top of a piece of ribbon and a sentiment.

Rainbow Resist

Today’s card is being featured at my Coloring Class. I love all the different ways you can color a card. For this one, I used one of my favorite technique, emboss resist, combined with watercolor. The Lots of Love Stamp Set is perfect for a smattering of images to emboss. From there I added some great colors to create a rainbow effect. After coloring, I added a few embellishments to finish off the card.

#5 Watercolor Greeting

Today's sketch comes from December 2015:

Here's what I did originally and I still really love this card!

For this year's car, I went back to the horizontal orientation of the sketch. I saw someone else color the Merry Music DSP and loved the idea! I inked up my brayer in Emerald Envy and rolled it across my paper a few times. To add some more interest, I stamped on a few snowflakes in Emerald Envy. For my main greeting, I colored my circle with my aqua painter and Real Red reinker. After it dried, I stamped my main greeting. I love the tone on tone look of both the background and the sentiment. Finally I added a silver snowflake and some silver enamel shapes.

A Birthday Twist

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a birthday card. I love the new Lemon Lime Twist color! It's perfect for making fun bright cards. For this card, I did a simple watercolor background on which to put my die cut ice cream cone. It's a simple card, but I'm loving it!

SSINKIC46: Under the Waves

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the image below as inspiration.

I pulled out my trusty Seaside Shore stamp set and started layering on some pieces. I stamped the seaweed and fish separately, colored them, and cut them out. I was going to adhere them to an embossed piece of white or Pool Party paper but it just wasn't right. After staring at the card for a while, I finally figured out how to make the background piece: watercolor it! I did a simple watercolor wash using Pool Party ink before stamping on some bubbles, starfish, and a sentiment. I layered it on a piece of Pool Party to repeat the color and them adhere it to a Lemon Lime Twist card base to repeat the seaweed color. Such a fun card!

  • Stamps: Seaside Shoer
  • Inks: Lemon Lime Twist; Flirty Flamingo; Powder Pink; Pool Party; Dapper Denim
  • Cardstock: Pool Party; Lemon Lime Twist

Places You'll Go

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a masculine card. Somehow I bought the Places You'll Go Stamp Set and never used it! Que horror! Thankfully I grabbed it to make a fun around the world adventure card. I was going to just stamp the globe, but then I decided to make a simple watercolor background. From there I found a great simple pattern paper to layer. The card was still missing a bit of something, so I added a great embossed piece of Island Indigo cardstock and some fun gold metallic shapes.

Botanical Garden

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a Saint Patrick's Day card or a green card. I opted for a green card. This was such a fun card to create! And it's a very versatile card. Change the colors, the DSP, and/or the sentiment to create a very different looking card. For this one, I heat embossed my sentiment before creating a watercolor wash. I stamped on a bit of background pattern using tone-on-tone stamping. I layered small piece of DSP to give a bit of visual interest. And finally I die cut and layered some flowers. Seriously, I am in love with card!

Birdcage Triptych

As part of my birthday month celebration, I'm going to try and make a cards with every single Stampin' Up stamp set I currently own. Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a quick and easy card. This card may not look quick and easy, but I assure you it is! Start with a simple watercolor wash on a piece of watercolor paper. I usedWatermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach, and Daffodil Delight reinkers to paint my background. The longest part of the card comes next: letting the piece of watercolor paper dry completely. From there I quickly created three different birdcages, cut the paper in three, and glued onto a layer of Basic Black before adhering to my card base. Simple but very striking!
