Lovely Washi

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a quick and easy card. My favorite quick and easy cards pack a lot of color, but are still easy to make. I started with the beautiful Affectionately Yours Washi Tape as my base. A simple sentiment was added in Night of Navy. And I finished the card off with a die cut flower from the Botanical Builder set.

Detail on Wink of Stella flower center and copper accent washi tape.

Project Life June 2016

June's pages highlight out many activities while the twins were here for the summer. I decided to use WRMK's Bloom kit. The fun bright florals really spoke to me this month.

Page 1 -- Loving the bright florals accenting the first page of June.

Page 2 -- A very pink beach visit page.

Page 3 -- Visit to the Alameda County Fair. I finally found a spot for that "hello" die cut.

Page 4 -- Oakland Zoo Day. I added a few some embellishments including those cute turquoise enamel dots.

Page 5 -- Our trip the Computer History Museum. Love the pics in the Google cars.

Page 6 and 7 -- Our visit to Hiller Aviation Museum. I didn't add any embellishments what so ever...

Page 8 -- Before the Computer History Museum, we had lunch at Nola in Palo Alto. Of course, I had to take pictures of our amazing food.

July's blog hop theme was summer. What's more summer-like than enjoying the great outdoors? I decided to play with a friend's Sheltering Tree set and make a fun summer tableau. I always seem to use a lot of pink during the spring and summer months. For this card, I layered on the pink with some great green grass and a bright yellow sun.

  • Inks: Rose Red, Wild Wasabi, Old Olive, Basic Black, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight

Currently...

Watching: Over the summer, we've introduced the twins to The Colour of Magic and Hogfather. We're finishing up with Going Postal.

Reading: Diving into The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. I haven't read this book for years. We're reading it for July's book club book.

Listening: Been deep into podcasts this week. I caught up on some of my favorites including The Simple Show.

Making: Knocked out June's Project Life pages this weekend. Hoping to catch up on Arthur and the twin's albums this week.

Feeling: So very tired... 28 weeks and I'm exhausted. How do I survive for the next 12 weeks?

Planning: September is filling up with events most notably the retreat and Arthur's birthday party. We're having his birthday a month early due the baby coming in early October.

Loving: So addicted to desserts right now. I'm made a few cakes this past week and have been craving smores. Thankfully I have all the fixins to make some tonight...

SSINKCS35: Blue Birthday

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the sketch below.

I went very simple with today's card. I played with a few different pieces of DSP to act as accompany the die cut balloon. The Irresistibly Floral paper is so versatile. This card is so simple, but I love it.

  • Stamps: Celebrate Today
  • Inks: Pool Party; Island Indigo
  • Cardstock: A Little Foxy DSP; Irresistibly Floral DSP; Island Indigo; Whisper White
  • Accessories: White Accents
  • Tools: Balloon Framelits

Purple Gatefold

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using a fancy fold. I love making gatefold cards! The don't seem like much, but once done, they are a nice surprise. Start with a 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of cardstock. Score the 8 1/2" side at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8".  Add some DSP and a fun closure element and the card's all ready! For this card, I fussy cut the pretty flower after coloring it in using Sweet Sugarplum.

And the inside of the card:

  • Stamps: Remarkable You
  • Inks: Rich Razzleberry, Sweet Sugarplum, Chocolate Chip
  • Cardstock: Blooms and Bliss DSP, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
  • Accessories:
  • Tools: Blender Pen

Jumping Fish Beach

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card with a beach theme.  Thankfully I just received my a huge stack of DSP including the By the Shore paper pack. And I don't have a beach themed stamp set but thankfully the Jar of Love stamps et includes this cute this fish! Using the DSP and fish as my base, I decided to go with a watercolor beach background. Overall, I love the end result of my card.

  • Stamps: Happy Happenings, Jar of Love
  • Inks: Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Soft Sky, Mint Macaron, Island Indigo, Crumb Cake
  • Cardstock: By the Shore DSP, Island Indigo, Watercolor Paper
  • Accessories:

SSINKCC35: Red, White, and Blue Birthday

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the below colors. This month's color challenge includes one of SU's new In Colors: Dapper Denim!

I don't make many patriotic cards, so I took the colors and made a bright and sunny birthday card. I pulled out an old stamp set, Flower Shop, and went to town using the triple stamping technique. In assembly, this is a such a simple card, but it definitely makes a statement.

  • Stamps: Flower Shop; Suite Sayings
  • Inks: Real Red, Dapper Denim
  • Cardstock: Real Red, Whisper White
  • Accessories: Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon
  • Tools:
