Festive Drapery

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using our favorite new accessory. Hands down my favorite accessory is the beautiful 2016-2018 In Color Ruched Ribbons! I'm not usually a ribbon lover, but these have changed my opinion. I love the colors and the feel of these ribbons. For this card, I decided to highlight the gorgeous Emerald Envy Ribbon. This card may look complicated, but believe me, it is simple!

Directions for a drapery card:

  • Cut DSP to 4" x 11 1/2"
  • Score at 3", 4", 6", 7", 9", and 10"
  • Cut at a diagonal starting at 3", leaving about 1-1 12" at the end.
  • Fold!

Supplies used:

  • Stamps: Jar of Love
  • Inks: Melon Mambo
  • Cardstock: Festive Birthday DSP; Tempting Turquoise; Melon Mambo
  • Accessories: Emerald Envy Ruched Ribbon; White Accents
  • Tools: Lots of Labels Framelits
tags: Festive Birthday DSP, Jar of Love

Butterfly DSP

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create my own Designer Series Paper using my stamps. I adore my butterfly stamps and immediately pulled those out to use. From there it was just a question of my color palette. I decided to go with my reds and pinks and have fun. I kept the additions to this card simple to highlight my homemade DSP. This card is going to a special friend who just had a new baby girl.

  • Stamps: Watercolor Wings; Papillon Potpurri; Suite Sayings
  • Inks: Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Rose Red
  • Cardstock: Melon Mambo; Blushing Bride; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Affectionately Yours Washi Tape
  • Tools: Lots of Labels Framelits

Currently...

Watching: J and I have been on a movie kick lately. We've watched The Wolverine, The Scorch Trials, Keanu, and San Andreas all in the past week. I plan on watching Pride and Prejudice and Zombies tonight.

Reading: I finally picked up George Washington's Secret Six by Brian Kilmeade. I've been obsessed with the American Revolution lately.

Listening: I started listening to The Scot and the Sassenach podcast yesterday. I love Outlander both books and tv series, so this podcast series is perfect for me.

Making: Started working on my August SSINK cards. In the past three days, I knocked out 4! Woohoo!

Feeling: For the first time in months, I started a week without a meal plan. What is wrong with me this month? Overall, I'm feeling a bit disorganized lately. Need to fix this.

Planning: From my point above, I really need to dive back into my meal and activity planning.

Loving: Digging the fresh fruit right now, especially nectarines, cantaloupe, and grapes. It's all I want to eat right now.

Dapper Fish

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card with our new monthly Technique Challenge!

After reading the challenge directions, I immediately pulled out the new Jar of Love stamp set. I wanted to create a fun monochromatic card using the watercolor resist technique. The resulting card is subtle, but full of little details. I love the new In Color Envelope Paper used as a background. The play of different blues creates a calming effect. And the little fish in a jar is just plain cute! Pop on over the SSINKspiration blog to submit your own watercolor resist card.

  • Stamps: Jar of Love
  • Inks: Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo
  • Cardstock: 2016-2018 In Color Envelope Paper; Dapper Denim; Pool Party; Watercolor paper
  • Accessories: Dapper Denim ruched Ribbon
  • Tools: White Embossing Powder

Copper and Mint

7:22

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card featuring metallics. I decided to highlight the beautiful new metallic: copper. I think Mint Macaron works beautifully with copper, so I started with my color combination. I created my own background DSP pattern using the Love and Affection stamp set and copper embossing powder. I added a strip of copper foil Affectionately Yours DSP and a strip of the new Mint Macaron Striped Ribbon. A heat embossed sentiment finishes off this card.

Detailing of the heat embossing and foil details on the DSP.

  • Stamps: Love and Affection; Suite Sayings

  • Accessories: Mint Macaron Mini Striped Ribbon

Dekstop Thursday #16

I just cleaned off my desk from prepping for stamp club tonight. All that's left is this stack of stamped images from Remarkable You. I borrowed the set from a friend and went to town before having to give it back this weekend. I stamped a huge variety of images in a variety of techniques to play with later. Hoping to get to this tomorrow or next week.

Christmas in July

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a Christmas card in July! I went to make my card and realized that all of my Stampin' Up Christmas themed stamps retired with the last annual catalog. Oh no! What to do? Well I have some of the new This Christmas DSP so that's a start. Working from there, I remembered my Work of Art stamp set. This abstract set is so versatile. Of course! Make a Christmas tree out of that stamp set. Add a star and some gold sequins and I have a great Christmas card not using any actual Christmas stamp set.

  • Stamps: Work of Art
  • Inks: Garden Green, Early Espresso
  • Cardstock: This Christmas DSP; Real Red, Very Vanilla
  • Accessories: Gold Sequins
  • Tools: Stars Framelits

Sunday Haul #14

IMG_2409

Quick pop in to Michael's resulted in all this stuff. I only went in for snail, but also bought envelopes, some cute enamel shapes, washi tape, and a D (secret baby project).

My Blitsy order came! I grabbed these cute fall and Christmas stickers for Arthur and the baby's albums.

And the planner stickers are just for me! I also grabbed a few kid related sticker sheets.
