Happy Mother's Day!

Today at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration we're celebrating Mother's Day! (It's this Sunday remember!) I love making floral cards for Mother's Day. Maybe it's because my mom owned a flower shop... For today's card, I had to use my favorite retiring color, Mint Macaron. Night of Navy looks amazing next to Mint Macaron, so I decided to play off the color combo. I also love making triptych cards, so I combined the colors and the design for this great card! The white ink takes forever to dry, but I think it was worth it.

  • Cardstock: Mint Macaron; Night of Navy; Whisper White; Basic Black

Floral Affection Mother's Day

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card for Mother's Day. Just like last month's card, I always go to flowers for Mother's Day cards. I pulled out some scraps from the Affectionately Yours DSP pack and started playing with layering. I saw a card that featured a diagonal piece of patterned paper and thought it might look nice on this card. From there, I embossed a piece of Mint Macaron to act at my focal point. A simple sentiment finished off my card.

  • Stamps: Love and Affection
  • Inks: Night of Navy
  • Cardstock: Affectionately Yours DSP; Mint Macaron; Very Vanilla; Watermelon Wonder

Easter Twisted Gate

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create an unusually shaped card. I chose to make the twisted gate fold. It looks complicated, but promise it was super easy to make. Do a quick Google search to find a tutorial. For my embellishments, I just added a few punched flowers to the outside. The inside features a simple Easter message. A fun shaped card for today!

Love is In the Air

Welcome to the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration blog hop! This month we are creating cards with the theme of "Love is in the Air."  As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 2 on the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Blog Hop – Cathy @ Maine Mountain Stamper. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn’t work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

I decided to feature a simple love card featuring the beautifully simple Sending Love DSP. I'm not huge on Valentine's Day cards and all the red and pink, so I tend to go pretty simple wth my cards. For today's card, I focused on the heart shape and our Sending Love DSP. No extras embellishments or layers. I love how simple the cards is. One of my favorites.

Another fun heart card. Once I got started, I couldn't stop myself from making another card...

Split Flowers

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a get well or sympathy card. Most of my sympathy cards feature flowers or butterflies. For this card, I wanted to feature this great and colorful paper from the Affectionately Yours DSP and the beautiful Mint Macaron ribbon. To bring a bit more to the card, I added some tone-on-tone fussy cut flowers.

  • Stamps: Love and Affection
  • Inks: Night of Navy; Watermelon Wonder; Mint Macaron; Daffodil Delight
  • Cardstock: Affectionately Yours DSP; Crumb Cake; Night of Navy; Watermelon Wonder; Mint Macaron; Daffodil Delight

Simple Gift Card Holder

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a 3D Valentine's Day project. I'm not big on Valentine's Day projects, so I made my own little project that could be perfect for Valentine's Day or lots of other occasions. This project was so incredibly easy to make! Main cardstock:

  • cut 5" x 8"
  • score long side at 2" and 5 1/2"
  • use adhesive along sides and the bottom edge (to create a "shelf" for your insert)

DSP:

  • cut 2 3/8″ x 4 7/8″ and 1 7/8″ x 4 7/8″

Cardstock band:

  • cut 1 1/4" x 8"

Make the label. I used two layering circle framelits.

Inside: perfect for a gift card or a little love note.

  • Stamps: Love and Affection; Happy Happenings
  • Inks: Watermelon Wonder; Daffodil Delight; Blushing Bride
  • Cardstock: Affectionately Yours DSP; Watermelon Wonder; Whisper White
  • Accessories:
  • Tools: Layering Circles Framelits

SSINKCS36: Love and Wishes

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the sketch below.

I wanted to highlight one of the beautiful papers from the Affectionately Yours DSP pack, but which one? Looking at some of my other cards, I realized that I haven't really used the pattern below. I decided to play off the small flower image and create my own piece of DSP with images from Love and Affection and Friendly Wishes. I added a metallic doily and washi tape to finish my card.

  • Stamps: Love and Affection; Friendly Wishes
  • Inks: Watermelon Wonder; Night of Navy; Mint Macaron
  • Cardstock: Affectionately Yours DSP; Night of Navy; Mint Macaron; Watermelon Wonder
  • Accessories: Affectionately Yours Washi Tape; Metallic Foil Doilies
  • Tools:

Sending a Floral Smile

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a sympathy card. I went a bit nontraditional with my sympathy card with bright colors and a positive sentiment.Unfortunately I've had cause to send this to a friend during a very difficult time in her life. After so many platitudes and "I'm sorry"s... I thought a more positive sentiment would be appropriate. I played with the new Affectionately Yours Embossing Folder, Affectionately Yours DSP, and Love and Affection Stamp Set. A bit of embossing and then stamping some floral details create the center piece of the card. I added some nice layers and a sentiment banner to finish it out.

  • Stamps: Love and Affection
  • Inks: Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron, Early Espresso
  • Cardstock: Affectionately Yours DSP; Crumb Cake; Mint Macaron; Daffodil Delight; Whisper White
  • Accessories:
  • Tools: Floral Affection Embossing Folder

Copper and Mint

7:22

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card featuring metallics. I decided to highlight the beautiful new metallic: copper. I think Mint Macaron works beautifully with copper, so I started with my color combination. I created my own background DSP pattern using the Love and Affection stamp set and copper embossing powder. I added a strip of copper foil Affectionately Yours DSP and a strip of the new Mint Macaron Striped Ribbon. A heat embossed sentiment finishes off this card.

Detailing of the heat embossing and foil details on the DSP.

  • Accessories: Mint Macaron Mini Striped Ribbon
