May 2016 Crafting Goals

  • April PL Pages -- Always on my goal list
  • Prep WITL album and make a plan -- The Ali Edwards fan base is doing Week in the Life the week of May 9th. I haven't decided if I'm doing it that week or the week after, but it will be in May. I want to get my album prepped and plan prepared before the week of.
  • Prep May's stamp club cards -- I wanted to get both months done before May, but only April happened. So I need to get May's examples done.
  • Attempt to fill stamp club for next round -- Carry over from last month...
  • Make a plan for new baby's PL album -- We'll be finding out soon if the baby's a girl or a boy. I am planning on doing a weekly PL album for the baby's first year. I did the same with Arthur and loved the result. It definitely helps to have an album somewhat prepped before the baby comes. Depending on the gender, I may or may not buy new PL baby cards (have some leftover from Arthur) and I need an album.
  • Finish posting any for sale items -- I got a head start last week, but I've been wanting to get everything posted in my FB group. I may post things here as well.

A recap of last month's goals:

  • March PL pages — Success! I even got Arthur's album caught up to the present.
  • Plan and prep April and May’s stamp club cards — 50% success. I finished April's cards way ahead of time, but didn't complete May's cards. I do think I know what we're making. I just haven't actually made them.
  • Attempt to fill stamp club for next round — Fail.I'm still working on this goal, but it hasn't been accomplished yet...

April 2016 Crafting Goals

A very small list of goals this month...

  • March PL pages -- Oh course...
  • Plan and prep April and May's stamp club cards -- Want to be prepared early.
  • Attempt to fill stamp club for next round -- I'm hoping to get enough ladies for June to September for a mini club.

A recap of last month's goals:

  • February PL pages — Success! I even finished these before leaving for Indiana.
  • Finish Retreat Crafts — Success! And they looked really cool.
  • Send Out March Cards/Take April Cards with Me to Indiana to Send Out —Success! I remembered to take and send all my March cards. And I prepped the April cards, but left them at home. My first April birthday isn't until the 10th, so I can safely send it when I get back.
  • Reevaluate My PL Plan — Success! I've spent some time thinking about my PL plan and I've decided to continue what I've been doing lately. And I plan for next year. There are a few things that I am going to change... I'll let you know later this year.

March 2016 Crafting Goals

Arthur and I are visiting family in Indiana for half the month, so I'm keeping my goals simple.

  • February PL pages -- The usual.
  • Finish Retreat Crafts -- I'm leaving on the retreat on March 10th, so these get to get done pronto.
  • Send Out March Cards/Take April Cards with Me to Indiana to Send Out -- Already started prepping March, but need to finish. Since we will be in Indiana from the 16th until the end of the month, I need to take some of those cards and April's cards with me to send out.
  • Reevaluate My PL Plan -- Carry over from last month's goals. Want to spend some time thinking about what I want to see in my PL pages. On a related note, Ali Edwards just announced Week in the Life for May. I need to decide if I want to buy her kit again this year.

A recap of last month's goals:

  • January PL pages — Success! We were very sick, so there weren't that many pages to make.
  • Finish Retreat Crafts — Fail. Not quite finished with one of the crafts. Hoping to knock it out this week.
  • Destash/declutter before possible move — Success! Did another pass at my stash and trashed/put in sale box a decent amount. Feeling a bit better.
  • Take supply inventory — Success! I reorganized some things, took stock of my cardstock supply, and listed out my stamp sets.
  • Send February cards out — Success! It's so much easier to do them in one batch than try to remember individual cards throughout the month.
  • Reevaluate my PL plan— Fail. Completely forgot that this one on my goals list. Oops!

February 2016 Crafting Goals

  • January PL pages -- The usual...
  • Finish Retreat Crafts -- I have two different crafty items to finish before the retreat on March 10th. Hoping to finish by the end of this month.
  • Destash/declutter before possible move -- We might be moving back to the peninsula this spring (woohoo!), but I really need to destash and declutter my craft area before that happens. Hoping to spend some time in February.
  • Take supply inventory -- Goes along with previous goal.
  • Send February cards out -- Instead of forgetting birthdays here and there or until last minute, I'm trying to send out cards towards the beginning of the month in a batch. Or at least preparing them in a batch. Have a few for February I want to get out. Plus, a few thank you cards for various people.
  • Reevaluate my PL plan-- More of a thought process than hands-on process. But thinking a lot about what i want to include in my PL spreads.

A recap of last month's goals:

  • Finish December Daily pages — Success! Not super complicated but I got it finished.
  • Restart stamp club — Success! Relaunch stamp club. I only have three confirmed ladies with a possibly fourth, but we'll make it work. The three new ladies who attended (one confirmed, one just a guest, one maybe joining) were awesome fun to craft with. Can't wait until February club!
  • Plan out rest of February/March classes — Success! I scheduled a few different class and crop nights before I go back to Indiana for spring break. Now if people would RSVP...

January 2016 Crafting Goals

A very light goals list for January. I'm just today flying back home and things are a bit up in the air. I don't want to overwhelm myself, so I'm just committing to the following three goals:

  • Finish December Daily pages -- Hoping this is done quickly after we get home.
  • Restart stamp club -- Hoping to restart this month!
  • Plan out rest of February/March classes -- I want to get some set before the end of January.

A recap of last month's goals:

  • Journal/prep December Daily pages — Sorta success... I got most of my pages planned out and some of the journaling cards done,
  • Plan out my Occasions catalog swap — Success! I have it planned out and partially completed. I need my Big Shot to complete then, but I got as much done as I could.
  • Make my spring wishlist — Success! I have my list and will be placing another Occasions/SAB order soon
  • Finish any crafty Christmas presents — Success!
  • November PL pages — Success! Okay, not completely. I'm missing the pictures from Thanksgiving Day, but everything else is done. And that page has been planned out. I just need to print the pics when I get back in January.
  • Plan and post January/February Classes — Sorta success... I scheduled a few classes for January, but I haven't completed my examples yet.

2016 Goals and Resolutions

Let's take a look back at 2015's goals and resolutions and my progress:

  1. Get crafting classes up and running — I ran my first successful stamp club through the summer and fall. I loved it!
  2. Shop from my stash — I did a decent job shopping from my stash this past year!
  3. Participate in card making challenges — I participated in a few here and there. Decent progress on this one.
  4. Keep up with my 2015 Project Life albums — I finally updated the twins scrapbooks to the present day. And Arthur and the family album are to present day.
  5. Make gifts monthly — Totally failed at this goal.
  6. Branch out with new styles, technology, and products — I stretched myself to learn some new techniques and branch out with my style.
  7. Fully organize my new craft space — Success!
  8. Make at least 50 Pinterest inspired crafts — I probably didn't make 50 non-card crafts, but I did make a fair amount.
  9. Plan Arthur’s 2nd birthday party during the summer — Done! And it was a success!
  10. Create a play area with crafty elements — I didn't really make much for the play area, but it was organized and changed when needed.

Now on to 2016's goals and resolutions:

  1. Keep up with Stamp Club and card classes -- I'm going to attempt to start another stamp club round in January. Hoping to keep it moving. Also need to focus on a variety of class offerings to hopefully gain some more customers.
  2. Complete another Week in the Life album -- I love doing it in August 2015. I hope to complete one in 2016 either as a separate album or included in my regular PL album.
  3. Drop my Messy Box subscription, sign up for a planner kit subscription -- I've enjoyed getting the Messy Box kit this past year, but I don't seem to use as much of the products as i would like. My subscription is up in March. I'm going to drop that one and subscribe to something more Planner specific. Still deciding which one to subscribe to...
  4. Ban on buying PL cards (core kits, mini kits, partials, or theme kits) -- I have so many! I do not need any more!
  5. Curate my crafty Pinterest boards -- They are getting a bit out of hand. I need to do some curating, crafting, and deleting.
  6. Make 150 different cards -- I did a great job in 2015 making different designed cards. Now I want to continue the trend.
  7. Continue my 2016 PL albums -- Still in love with PL style scrapbooking. Hope to continue staying current in 2016.

30 Days of Christmas Cards

Christmas is creeping closer... and my two craft fairs are even closer! And I haven't made a single Christmas card for this year! Last year, I had all my Christmas cards down and mailed by Thanksgiving. I may not accomplish that this year, but I definitely need a jump on them. I was directed to this awesome challenge hosted by Punk Projects. Join me and others as we made at least one Christmas card (or project) a day for the month of November. I will be detailing my progress daily here and on Instagram: tfrances19.
