Since I've finished my 101 Faves series for Music Monday, I thought I would do something complete different. I turned on my iPod, hit shuffle, and recorded my first 5 songs. I'm thinking of making this a monthly feature... This shuffle is mostly older, but much loved songs. Enjoy!
1. "Tonight, Not Again" by Jason Mraz (live version from Tonight, Not Again)
2. "Bring the Night On" by Eve 6 (It's All in Your Head)
3. "Seven Wonders" by Nickel Creek (This Side)
4. "Apres Moi" by Regina Spektor (Begin to Hope)
5. "Wherever You Will Go" by The Calling (Camino Palmero)
As part of my ongoing Day Zero Project, I've made a list of my favorite 101 songs of all time. To help cut down on the possibilities, I took songs only from my iTunes account. Each edition will include ~5 songs with a theme. Enjoy!
Jason Mraz "You and I Both" - I absolutely adore this song... there's something so tragic yet beautiful about it.
Paramore "Crushcrushcrush" -- Still my favorite Paramore song. It's my favorite to perform on Rock Band (even if I don't sing that well...)
NeedtoBreathe "Won't Turn Back" -- Love the entire sound of NeedtoBreathe. They speak to the little bit of me that loves bluegrass.
Gavin DeGraw "Young Love" -- I think I love the acoustic version even better than the original.
Keane "Somewhere Only We Know"
As I was going through all the songs on our server (thousands), I realized that I have quite a few versions of this song. Why is that? Oh yeah, It's just an awesome song. I dare you not to sing along...
Original Kermit the Frog:
The Dixie Chicks:
Sarah McLachlan: My favorite non-Kermit version
Less Than Jake: A ska version for you...
Jason Mraz: I don't have this one, but I do love him...
It's December. Time to pull out the holiday music. I thought I would share my all-time favorite Christmas carols. I've even pinpointed my favorite versions of my favorite carols. Part 1 of 3.
She and Him "Baby, It's Cold Outside"
Point of Grace "Carol of the Bells / What Child is This?
Jason Mraz "Winter Wonderland"
Michael W. Smith "Christmas Waltz"
Josh Groban "Ave Maria"
Instead the usual music monday post, I just grabbed a few songs that I am dying over right now. Some are new, some are old, all are much loved by me. Enjoy!
The Lumineers "Ho Hey" -- Love their album
Mumford & Sons "Ghosts that We Knew" -- Been obsessing over the new album, but especially this song
Flogging Molly "Float" -- Love love love this song, especially live
Of Monsters and Men "King and Lionheart" -- My other current album obsession
Fuel "Million Miles" -- Oldie that I rediscovered in my cd box. Saw them live ~2004, great show.
Jason Mraz "No Doubling Back" -- Especially love the live album.
Jamie Cullum "Blame it on My Youth" -- Awesome song!
As part of my ongoing celebration for my 30th birthday, I am highlighting some popular songs from throughout my years. Songs were picked based off of a list of Grammy award winners and Billboard Top 100. Then, I chose my favorites to highlight.
