Floral Affection Mother's Day

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card for Mother's Day. Just like last month's card, I always go to flowers for Mother's Day cards. I pulled out some scraps from the Affectionately Yours DSP pack and started playing with layering. I saw a card that featured a diagonal piece of patterned paper and thought it might look nice on this card. From there, I embossed a piece of Mint Macaron to act at my focal point. A simple sentiment finished off my card.

  • Stamps: Love and Affection
  • Inks: Night of Navy
  • Cardstock: Affectionately Yours DSP; Mint Macaron; Very Vanilla; Watermelon Wonder

May Crafting Goals

  • April's Memory Planner pages -- I have most of the pictures printed. Just need to start my weeks.
  • Finish May SSINK cards and leftover retiring cards -- I am behind! Usually by the first of the month, I have my cards mostly done. This blog transfer has put me behind.
  • Clean out retiring card kits -- I have a few last chance classes scheduled. I also need to just personally clean the kits out.
  • May Newsletter -- I really want to get this done.
  • Finally catch up on the family Project Life album -- I started and got side tracked. I need to get this finished.

A recap of last month’s goals:

  • Prep and host my first Bingo event  -- Success! I had a ton of fun and I think all the ladies did also.
  • Finish March Memory Planner pages -- 90% success. I have the the first two days of April to finish.
  • Start a Stampin' Up! social media/blog post section in planner -- Success! I bought a Recollections insert for my social media posts.
  • April Newsletter -- Fail. Just didn't get this off the ground this past month.
  • Finish April and May class cards -- Success! I'm ready to move on to the new stuff!
  • Finish April SSINK cards -- Success!

SSINKCC45: Two-Toned Birthday

This week I'm participating in the SSINK Color Challenge!

SSINKCC45 (1920).jpg

I'm so incredibly sad that the Endless Birthday Wishes Stamp Set is retiring at the end of May. It's just so versatile! For this card, I decided to play with textures and patterns. Very rarely do I layer pieces on top of embossed pieces, but this was perfect! Delightful Dijon wasn't my favorite of the 2015-2017 In Colors, but it does look very nice with Pacific Point. Love this great birthday card.

  • Stamps: Endless Birthday Wishes
  • Inks: Pacific Point; Delightful Dijon
  • Cardstock: 2015-2017 In Color DSP; Pacific Point; Delightful Dijon; Whisper White
  • Accessories:

It's a Sundae!

Today’s card features one of the Occasions Catalog Bundles. I love the Dragonfly Bundle, but my second favorite has quickly become the Cool Treats Bundle. I love making different frozen treat cards. For today's card, I had to make a fun sundae. After making my centerpiece, I added some fun layering pieces of pattern paper, washi tape, and a sweet sentiment.

  • Stamps: Cool Treats
  • Inks: Early Espresso
  • Cardstock: Tasty Treats DSP; Pool Party; Flirty Flamingo; Early Espresso; Pear Pizzazz; Watermelon Wonder; Daffodil Delight

A Card for Mom

Today'’s card theme is Mother's Day. When I think of Mother's Day, I always think of flowers. Of course I had to use my favorite floral stamp set, Birthday Blooms, to create this card! I did something a little different in coloring only the layered piece. And no flower is complete without a bumblebee! Overall, I'm really digging the style of this card.

  • Stamps: Birthday Blooms
  • Inks: Chocolate Chip; Wisteria Wonder; Elegant Eggplant; Delightful Dijon; Pear Pizzazz
  • Cardstock: Chocolate Chip; Wisteria Wonder; Elegant Eggplant; Very Vanilla

So Happy Together

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a wedding or anniversary card. I found this great design on Pinterest and had to use it to create a simple yet striking card. I kept my sentiment vague to be able to use this for a wedding, an engagement, or an anniversary. I didn't love the entirety of the Falling in Love DSP Paper Stack, but the bokeh pieces were amazing! This piece was my favorite.

  • Stamps: Happy Happenings

  • Cardstock: Falling in Love DSP; Copper Foil; Tip Top Taupe; Blushing Bride; Very Vanilla
  • Accessories: Affectionately Yours Washi Tape

SSINKTC44: Bumblebees in Flight

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the featured technique:

For my card, I knew I wanted to go simple and let the background really shine. After creating my salted background, I simply added a trio of bumblebees and a sentiment. Easy peasy, but such a great looking card!

  • Stamps: Bookcase Builder; Dragonfly Dreams
  • Inks: Basic Black; Bermuda Bay; Pear Pizzazz; Rich Razzleberry
  • Cardstock: Bermuda Bay; Basic Black

Celebrating the Earth

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card in celebration of Earth Day tomorrow. Of course I had to go with something involving flowers and animals. I settled on this gorgeous flower from Remarkable You and the little bee from Dragonfly Dreams. It's hard to see in the picture, but I colored the inside of the flower with gold Wink of Stella. Gives the card the bit of bling it needed.

  • Inks: Soft Suede; Old Olive; Blushing Bride; Delightful Dijon; Chocolate Chip
  • Cardstock: Affectionately Yours DSP; Daffodil Delight; Chocolate Chip; Whisper White

Baby Quilt

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to make a baby card. My sister is due in May with her first baby, a boy, so of course I had to make a great card for her. I loved making quilt card during Christmastime, but they do take so long. Even so, I decided to try it again. Instead of paper paper, I decorated each square with an image from the Bookcase Builder stamp set. I love how these cards turned out. So cute!

A variation using my favorite two colors: Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry

  • Stamps: Bookcase Builder
  • Inks: Soft Sky; Dapper Denim; Sweet Sugarplum; Rich Razzleberry; Daggodil Delight
  • Cardstock: Soft Sky; Dapper Denim; Sweet Sugarplum; Rich Razzleberry; Whisper White

Party Animal

Today’s card is a variation on a card that I made during my March Birthday Celebration. I mixed up the pattern paper using scraps from the paper pack. Instead of a flower, I decided to attach a fun ice cream cone instead.

  • Cardstock: Party Animal DSP; Crushed Curry; Pacific Point Crumb Cake
