Medallion Thanks

Leftover card from my Sale-a-Bration stash. I resisted getting this stamp set, because... I have no idea. I love this image and the ability to mix and match colors and patterns. For this card, I figured out a little trick. After multiple failed attempts to line up the different pieces, I started with the darkest color. It was so much easier to see where to stamp the next layer. Once I got my medallion squared away, I added a fun scalloped piece underneath and a fun piece of glimmer paper. So sad that this stamp set and the glimmer paper is retired!

  • Cardstock: Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper; Night of Navy; Mint Macaron; Whisper White

Happy Easter

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin' Stampin' Inkspriation. The challenge was to create an Easter card. I don't make many Easter cards, but I knew I wanted to do something cute and fun. And then I stumbled upon the bunny butt card on Pinterest. Perfect! I pulled out a ton of dies and started picking out the right shapes and sizes to make my own bunny butt. My only hangup happened when I realized that I white feet are the smallest size oval I own. Darn! I just had to fussy cut the Blushing Bride inserts.

  • Cardstock: Blooms and Bliss DSP; Mint Macaron; Blushing Bride; Whisper White

You Make My Day

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a teacher appreciation card. I pulled out this pre-stamped Sheltering Tree scene and started adding to it. I was originally going to place the sentiment in the white space, but then decided that the washi tape was too plain by itself. Adding a few butterflies was the right call. The layering piece of Urban Underground reminds me of a chalkboard so I had to add it.

  • Stamps: Paisleys and Posies; Sheltering Tree; Papillon Potpurri
  • Inks: Wild Wasabi; Crumb Cake; Rose Red; Daffodil Delight; Soft Sky
  • Cardstock: Urban Underground DSP; Watermelon Wonder; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Affectionately Yours Washi Tape
  • Tools: Bitty Butterfly Punch

SSINKCS44: Bit of Copper

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the sketch below.

Stacked Cone

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using a favorite embossing folder. This card is actually a CASE from the very talented Stacey Lane @ A Work of Carte! She made this great card. I tweaked the design just a bit to create a slightly simpler card. I just love her design so much! In fact, we're making this card for April's stamp club.

  • Stamps: Cool Treats
  • Inks: Watermelon Wonder
  • Cardstock: Tasty Treats DSP; Pool Party; Crumb Cake; Early Espresso; Wild Wasabi; Watermelon Wonder; Daffodil Delight
  • Accessories: Pearls; White Doilies

A Cupcake for You

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a cupcake card. I don't have a cupcake stamp set, so I had to improvise. I cut out my own cupcake liner from the Tasty Treats DSP. From there I added a cupcake cut from Peekaboo Peach and embossed with the Falling Softly Folder. And who doesn't love a shaker card! I had to have a bit of fun with the Sprinkles Embellishments to finish the card.

  • Stamps: Happy Happenings
  • Inks: Watermelon Wonder
  • Cardstock: Tasty Treats DSP; Peekaboo Peach; Whisper White; Watermelon Wonder
  • Accessories: Sprinkles Embellishments
  • Tools: Lots of Labels Framelits; Layering Circles Framelits; Falling Softly Embossing Folder

Memory Planning February 2017

I finished these pages back in mid-March, but my birthday celebration filled all my posts. So I'm sharing my pages in April... Since it was February, I went with a red, pink, and gold color scheme.  I ended up doing a fair amount of journaling on my pages. This was aided by me jotting down a few notes at the end of each day. If I can keep it up, I'll have a nice base for remembering my days. I also played a lot with picture sizes and layering. Trying to find that good balance between pictures, journaling, and decoration.
