SSINKCC32: Botanical Blooms

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the three highlighted colors:

I wanted to play with the Botanical Builder Framelits more before the Occasions Catalog ended. I thought the color challenge would be perfect to highlight the framelits. This is such a simple card, but makes a bold statement. I played with the placement of the foliage for awhile before deciding on this placement. The card was still missing something. I finished it with a few rhinestones!

April 2016 Crafting Goals

A very small list of goals this month...

  • March PL pages -- Oh course...
  • Plan and prep April and May's stamp club cards -- Want to be prepared early.
  • Attempt to fill stamp club for next round -- I'm hoping to get enough ladies for June to September for a mini club.

A recap of last month's goals:

  • February PL pages — Success! I even finished these before leaving for Indiana.
  • Finish Retreat Crafts — Success! And they looked really cool.
  • Send Out March Cards/Take April Cards with Me to Indiana to Send Out —Success! I remembered to take and send all my March cards. And I prepped the April cards, but left them at home. My first April birthday isn't until the 10th, so I can safely send it when I get back.
  • Reevaluate My PL Plan — Success! I've spent some time thinking about my PL plan and I've decided to continue what I've been doing lately. And I plan for next year. There are a few things that I am going to change... I'll let you know later this year.

SSINKMC31: Shades of Red

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create using some of the elements below. This month I went with three of the elements: Monochromatic, Single Layer, and Heat Embossing.

I grabbed four coordinating inks from the red family (Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo, Rose Red, and Real Red) and went to two layering elements from a few different stamp sets. For most of the background images, I stamped off before stamping on the Whisper White sheet. This helped balance the colors and ink saturation. As a last touch, I heat embossed the edges of the large butterfly with gold embossing powder. A nice challenge for this week!

  • Inks: Blushing Bride; Melon Mambo; Rose Red; Real Red

Flowering Tea Kettle

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card with one of our favorite products. My current obsession is with the Cups and Kettle Framelits. I love drinking tea and this set is the perfect companion. I made sure to accent my tea kettle with the gorgeous Wildflower Fields DSP. From there it was adding the last few touches. The embossed piece of Whisper White, a nice clean sentiment, and a few punched flowers.

  • Cardstock: Wildflower Fields DSP; Whisper White; Calypso Coral

Hello Spring

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card with a spring theme. I decided to go very simple with this card and only add two layers. I masked off a section in the middle and started stamping away with pieces of the Botanical Gardens Stamp Set. I added some layers and different colors. Finally, I added a nice sentiment to finish the card. Simple, but it reminds me of spring.

SSINKIC31: Welcome Baby

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the photo below as inspiration.

I went into this card wanting to use a nice bright pink and bright blue. I played around with some color combos, but wasn't feeling it. Instead, I opted for a more subtle palette of Blushing Bride and Lost Lagoon. Does anyone else look at these colors and think baby colors? I certainly do. I used a layered stamping technique and layered on elements from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set. To finish off the card, I added a nice sentiment from my new Welcome Words stamp set.

  • Inks: Blushing Bride; Lost Lagoon

Hello Babies!

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using punches. I pulled out two punches that I haven't used in awhile: Petite Petals and Hexagon Punch!

Two of my friends are having babies in the next couple of months and I always make baby cards for their sprinkles. One is having a girl (hence the pink card) and the other is not finding out until the birth (hence the gender neutral card). I love the play of pattern, color, and shape on these cards. Fairly simple, but the layers make the card. And my favorite part hands down is the strip of Metallic Glitter Tape (silver) and Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper. That little bit of sparkly just finishes the card for me!

  • Stamps: Petite Pairs; Six Sided Sampler
  • Inks: Crumb Cake; Blushing Bride; Basic Gray; Daffodil Delight
  • Cardstock: Neutrals DSP; Blushing Bride; So Saffron; Whisper White; Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper
  • Accessories: Candy Dots; Metallic Glitter Tape (silver)
  • Tools: Hexagon Punch; Petite Petals Punch

Lots of Cups

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using Sale-a-Bration products. My favorite SAB item hands down is the Wildflower Fields DSP! I love the color combos (thank you SU for using Blackberry Bliss!) and the designs. I decided to highlight the DSP by layering lots of teacups. Fairly simple card, but I love how the DSP pops!

  • Stamps: A Nice Cuppa; Celebrate Today
  • Inks: Blackberry Bliss; Calypso Coral; Old Olive
  • Cardstock: Wildflower Fields DSP; Hello Honey; Lost Lagoon
  • Accessories: Gold Ribbon
  • Tools: Cups and Kettle Framelits
