September 2015 Crafting Goals

A recap of last month’s goals:

  • Catch up Arthur and twins’ PL albums — Success! Everyone is caught up to August 1st. Woohoo!
  • Finish June and July PL pages — Success! I caught back up. On to August's pages.
  • Complete a Week in the Life album — Fail. I have all my documentation, but pictures have not been printed and the album hasn't completely been put together.
  • Inventory my completed cards — Success! Somehow I am lacking Birthday cards. And of course I need to make Christmas cards.
  • Pull, price, and sell craft items for the garage sale —Success! I made a decent amount and got rid of a ton of old stuff. Plus, a preschool teacher took all my random scraps!

This month’s goals:

  • Finish August PL pages -- The usual goal.
  • Finish my WITL Album -- Since I didn't finish this last month, it's on the to-do for September.
  • Reevaluate my SU wish list -- I need to figure out what I really want out of the annual and Holiday catalogs. This goal ties into the next goal.
  • Brainstorm/plan craft classes/projects for September, October, November, and December -- Need to get organized now.
  • Finish retreat projects -- There are a few things I need to make for retreat.
  • Finish Arthur birthday party projects -- And even more things to make for Arthur's birthday. Seeing as these two events happen the first two weeks of October, I need to get these done.

August 2015 Crafting Goals

A recap of last month’s goals:

  • Finish twins’ 2014 scrapbook pages —Success! Their albums are actually caught up to this June. Only two months behind! Woohoo! I am planning on tackling their summer pages in August.
  • Finish June PL pages —Fail. With the twins and my mom being here, I completely forgot to edit and print my pictures. By the time i realized and completed the task, the pictures didn't arrive until two days ago. So of course, I haven't actually gotten these done at all.
  • Organize the kid crafts cabinet —Success! As part of my big craft area overhaul, I tackled this cabinet first. Lots of stuff to donate, sell, or trash. The rest was put back in a reasonable order.
  • Make one other non-card craft project —Success! I started some traditional scrapbooking pages for the Find Your Voice class.
  • Make Beautiful Butterflies and Technique class cards —Fail. Well, I guess not really my fail. No one signed up to take either of these classes so I canceled them.
  • Schedule July and August classes and open houses — Success! I took most of July off, but started up my classes again the last week. And I went ahead and scheduled out August.

This month’s goals:

  • Catch up Arthur and twins' PL albums -- I am three months behind in Arthur's book and two months behind in the twins' books. Very doable if I focus for a day and catch up.
  • Finish June and July PL pages -- Because of my fail last month, now have two months to do in August. Doable, but need to buckle down. I hate getting far behind.
  • Complete a Week in the Life album -- I preordered Ali Edwards' kit and it has arrived. The week is set for August 17th-23rd. I want to make sure I have my kit ready to go before that week and my goal is to finish the album by month's end.
  • Inventory my completed cards -- I need to swap out the old retired product cards to my for sale pile, inventory my for sale pile, and organize my current products cards.
  • Pull, price, and sell craft items for the garage sale -- A few demos and I are having a huge craft garage sale on August 22nd. I have a craft area bursting at the seams. Hopefully the sale is successful and I can weed out the old, tired, or just plain ugly stuff from my area.

July 2015 Crafting Goals

A recap of last month’s goals:

  • Finish my May PL pages — Success! I always feel good being up-to-date with my Pl pages.
  • Evaluate the state of the twins’ scrapbooks and make a plan to catch up -- Success! I evaluated the state of the scrapbooks and dove in head first. I finished the half-filled album and moved on to Project Life style albums. I recently printed a ton of photos and am moving on to the next set. I hope to be caught up by the end of August.
  • Send out any remaining thank you cards for SU and Thirty-One orders — Success! I sent out cards to everyone who ordered from me. Feels good to say thank you.
  • Organize the kid crafts cabinet —Fail. Never seemed to get around to this task. Maybe next month.
  • Put up my retired supplies for sale on FB — Fail. Just didn't do it, although they are all collected in one spot. Just need to move forward with the selling now.

This month’s goals:

  • Finish twins' 2014 scrapbook pages -- I'm on a roll, I don't want to stop and lose momentum.
  • Finish June PL pages -- My monthly goal.
  • Organize the kid crafts cabinet -- Carry over goal from last month.
  • Make one other non-card craft project -- I've got an entire Pinterest board full of non-card and non-scrapbook crafts. I really should make something off of that board.
  • Make Beautiful Butterflies and Technique class cards -- Really want to complete my card examples to put up on Meetup.
  • Schedule July and August classes and open houses -- I took June and most of July off from classes, but I want to look ahead and get some things on the calendar.

May 2015 Crafting Goals

A recap of last month’s goals:

  • Finish my March PL pages — Success! I got these done quickly and started on April's pages.
  • Prep Sarah’s wedding album – Success! I finished this off right before I left.
  • Plan May’s craft classes – 50% Success. I know what classes I want to do in May (Using Your Scraps and Fancy Folds), but I've only prepped one class so far. I know what other cards I want to make, I just need to do it. I don't have a class until May 6th, so I have a few days to finish this one.
  • Enact a no buying craft supplies for the month — Success! I didn't stop in at Michael's or Joann's for the entire month. I did get my Messy Box and Paper Issues swag bag. Plus I did place a SU order during free shipping week but that was pre-planned so I don't consider it a fail.

This month’s goals:

  • Finish my April PL pages -- My monthly goal... so far so good this year.
  • Put up my retired supplies for sale on FB -- Now that we know what's retiring this month, I want to prep and sell off some of my old supplies. Need to make room for the new in June!
  • Clean out my card kits box -- I have old card kits that people can make at my open houses. The box needs to be cleaned out and reorganized.
  • Make one non-PL or card craft -- I have a ton of interesting craft projects on my Pinterest board, just need to pick on to do.
  • Curate at least one craft related Pinterest boards -- Related to the above goal, I desperately need to curate some of my Pinterest boards.

April 2015 Crafting Goals

A recap of last month’s goals:

  • February PL Pages —Success! I finished these pages before leaving for Indiana.
  • Preschool crafts for March 12th – Success! And they were wonderful.
  • Prep Sarah’s wedding crafts before March 17th — Success! I got all my supplies around and in my suitcase to travel. As soon as I arrived, I got all my supplies out and finished the favors ahead of time.
  • Have a clean craft area before I leave – Success! I finished cleaning my craft area with days to spare. The main culprit was a huge stack of random paper scraps. I got them all sorted out and put away.

This month’s goals:

  • Finish my March PL pages -- I have to wait until I get back in mid April to do these pages, but want to do a bit of prep before I go back home.
  • Prep Sarah's wedding album -- It's her gift so I need to get this done soon...
  • Plan May's craft classes -- I have no idea what I want to do for May's classes. Really need to start thinking about these.
  • Enact a no buying craft supplies for the month -- I've gone a bit crazy lately especially with the bridal shower. So I've decided that April is a no craft supply buying month. The only exceptions are my stamp club order, Paper Issues swag bag, and Messy Box subscription. Otherwise no runs to Michael's or Joanns.

2015 Goals and Resolutions

I didn't have this blog active last New Year's so this is my first big goals and resolutions post.  Let's dive in:

  1. Get crafting classes up and running -- A fellow mom friend and I currently have a Meetup group, but we're not getting much business.  I want to focus on getting people to classes and coming back for more. I'm not as concerned about direct orders, but would love to have people attend classes.
  2. Shop from my stash -- I did a huge destash before our move, but I need to focus on using more of my stash instead of buying new all the time. I want to make it a priority to always shop from my stash first...
  3. Participate in card making challenges -- I get all the blog posts about weekly card challenges, but they always seem to just languish in my blog roll.  I want to participate in at least one challenge a week.
  4. Keep up with my 2015 Project Life albums -- I did very well at keeping up with PL in 2014 until we moved in November.  I'm hoping my new PL strategies will help keep me on track even more.
  5. Make gifts monthly -- I love the idea of giving homemade gifts, but the rush of the holiday season usually makes this impossible.  I want to make gifts each month so I have an inventory by Christmas.  Alternatively, these can be used for birthday or just because gifts.
  6. Branch out with new styles, technology, and products -- I need to explore more new this year...
  7. Fully organize my new craft space -- I have a brand new craft area and haven't even begun to unpack. Of course that's because I'm still in Indiana.  But I want to have a nice organized space by the end of January.  Then my goal is to keep it organized and neat.
  8. Make at least 50 Pinterest inspired crafts -- I pin a lot.  I need to make more of those pins.
  9. Plan Arthur's 2nd birthday party during the summer -- I went down to the wire with his 1st birthday party.  I want this done in summer this coming year.
  10. Create a play area with crafty elements -- I have big plans for the front living room.  I want to turn it into a play room with some of the cute decorative elements I've pinned.
