Glitter and Bow

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a Christmas card. I went with a fun and simple card that packs a hidden surprise. This cute card started with the fun DSP from Candy Cane Lane. I love the fun pattern and wanted to make sure to highlight it on the card. From there, I added a sentiment, but it turned out just adding a sentiment stamped in Real Red was too boring. Instead, I stamped my sentiment in Versamark and added the Real Red Glitter Embossing Powder to added that something extra to the card. You can't quite tell from the picture, but that sentiment is just full of glitter fun! As a finishing touch, I created a fun bow using my Envelope Punch Board. Such a great card!

  • Stamps: Wonderful Year
  • Inks: Versamark
  • Cardstock: Candy Cane Lane DSP; Crumb Cake; Early Espresso; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Red Glitter Embossing Powder
  • Tools: Circles Framelits; Envelope Punch Board (bow)

Sweater Tag

My countdown to Christmas continues with this lovely card full of pattern and texture. The Cable Knit Embossing Folder is an amazing way to create visual and tactile interest on your cards. I added a strip of DSP from the Warmth and Cheer Stack to continue the sweater theme. From there I finished the card with a simple tag and a few embellishments. And the card features my favorite Christmas color combination of Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green.

  • Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth
  • Inks: Cherry Cobbler; Garden Green
  • Cardstock: Warmth & Cheer DSP; Cherry Cobbler; Early Espresso; Very Vanilla
  • Accessories: Gold Sequin Trim; Cherry Cobbler Twine
  • Tools: Cable Knit Embossing Folder; Scallop Tag Topper Punch

Repeating Reindeer

How a bit a repeating reindeer for today? In October, I made a similar card with a repeating scarecrow. Of course I had to try it with the cute reindeer. I even made him Rudolph complete with his red nose! You can't tell from the picture, but the red stripes were colored with Wink of Stella to give them a bit of shine.

  • Stamps: Cookie Cutter Christmas
  • Inks: Early Espresso; Real Red
  • Cardstock: Candy Cane Lane DSP; Crumb Cake; Early Espresso; Very Vanilla
  • Accessories: Real Red Metallic Thread; Real Red Ribbon; Wink of Stella

A Warm Christmas

Can you tell how much I love the Wrapped in Warmth Stamp Set? The greetings are so perfect for all my cards. For this card, I played with layering different pieces of cardstock, one DSP strip and one embossed strip, to create an interesting backdrop for my doily and sentiment. Note the fun stitching around the sentiment. I have totally fallen for the Stitched Shapes Framelits. So glad I bought those last month.

  • Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth
  • Inks: Cherry Cobbler
  • Cardstock: Warmth & Cheer DSP; Garden Green; Basic Black; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Doilies
  • Tools: Stitched Shapes Framelits; Cable Knit Embossing Folder

SSINKCS40: Classic Christmas

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the sketch below.

I had this leftover stamped sentiment from the My Hero stamp set still sitting on my desk. This sketch was the perfect place for it! I layered on some fun green dsp from the This Christmas packet, but something was missing. Instead of using dsp or a solid piece of cardstock, I decided to emboss some Real Red to compliment the sentiment. Perfect idea!

  • Stamps: My Hero
  • Inks: Real Red
  • Cardstock: This Christmas DSP; Real Red; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Rhinestones
  • Tools: Circles Framelits; Softly Falling Embossing Folder

Simple Stamped Christmas

How about a one layer stamped card with a bonus gingerbread? I featured this card as a make-n-take at my November events. I combined the Wrapped in Warmth and Cookie Cutter Christmas stamps to create a nice background for the little punched out gingerbread. Note the paper piercing around the edge of the Garden Green piece. I feel like the piercing really pulls the card together.

  • Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth; Cookie Cutter Christmas
  • Inks: Cherry Cobbler; Garden Green; Early Espresso
  • Cardstock: Garden Green; Whisper White; kraft
  • Accessories: Rhinestones
  • Tools: Cookie Cutter Punch

Fun n' Crafty Blog Hop December 2016

Welcome to the Fun n’ Crafty Blog Hop for December. This month's theme is metallics. Pull out all the shiny and get to stamping! For my card, I wanted to use one my favorite embellishments: the metallic foil doilies. I love how the package comes with gold and silver foil in two different sizes. I've used these so much that I'm on my third package! To help highlight the shine, I stamped a simple greeting onto a white circle and had the doily frame my centerpiece. I added more texture to the card with the embossing folder, but kept the patterns simple with just a small strip of DSP. Hop along below to see what the other FNC ladies made with their shiny pieces!

Variation using retired DSP.

  • Stamps: Wrapped in Warmth
  • Inks: Cherry Cobbler; Island Indigo
  • Cardstock: Presents & Pinecones DSP; Cherry Cobbler; Emerald Envy; Mint Macaron; Winter Frost DSP (retired); Island Indigo; Pool Party; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Metallic Foil Doilies
  • Tools: Circle Framelits; Softly Falling Embossing Folder
