Birthday Dino

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card featuring new catalog products. .How cute is this paper? When I saw it was available for preorder, I knew I had to have it. The pack has some great patterns, but the dinosaurs are definitely my favorite. For my card, I pieced together a strip of fun dino dsp, a coordinating pattern, and a stamped piece of Sahara Sand. From there I added a great sentiment from my newest set, Better Together. I can't wait to use this stamp set and pattern paper pack more. Stay tuned for some great new product cards in June.

  • Inks: Sahara Sand; Emerald Envy; Flirty Flamingo; Crushed Curry
  • Cardstock: Pick a Pattern DSP; Emerald Envy; Sahara Sand

Currently...

Watching: When Calls the Heart on Netflix. It's such a stupid period drama and yet I'm addicted right now. I guess this is my follow-up to The Paradise.

Reading: The Island at the Center of the World by Russell Shorto. Fascinating look at the settlement of New Amsterdam (now New York City). Reading it has been slow going because I've been so tired. The subject matter is very engaging.

Listening: Lots of NPR Politics episodes.

Making: Getting ready for the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog launch with a party and open house this weekend. I've been making examples for make n takes and ones to highlight the great new products.

Feeling: All my tasks have deadlines fast approaching. I'm feeling a bit stretched thin at the moment.

Planning: Making plans for summer with all four boys. It's going to get a bit crazy in this house!

Loving: Impulse bought dark chocolate peanut clusters at Sprouts last week and now I am obsessed. So good!

SSINKTC45: Black Magic Dragonflies

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card with the featured technique:

This is such a great technique and I'm surprised that I've never actually used it! For my card, I knew that I wanted to use the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set. The dragonfly image gives a great space for coloring fun! I kept my card in the Bright collections by using the wonderful Watercolor Pencils. I kept my card clean by just adding a few layer and a pretty bow.

  • Stamps: Dragonfly Dreams; Scenic Sayings (sentiment inside)
  • Inks: White Craft Ink
  • Cardstock: Melon Mambo; Basic Black; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Organza Ribbon
  • Tools: Watercolor Pencils

Candy Truck

Today’s project was a cute little candy holder we made for April's stamp club. We stamped, colored, and cut two trucks and then used those as the walls for box. A simple strip of cardstock to create a bottom was added. After making our truck, we filled it with chocolate of course!

  • Stamps: Tasty Truck (retired SAB item)
  • Inks: Basic Gray; Sweet Sugarplum; Coastal Cabana (retired); Crushed Curry
  • Cardstock: Coastal Cabana (retired); Whisper White

Elegant Birdcage

Today's card is being featured on Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using a favorite retiring stamp set. I'm going to be so sad to lose the Birdcage Builder stamp set. I love that you can make multiple differently designed birdcages using the pieces. For today's card, I decided to create one simple birdcage with a background of flowers. Such an elegant birdcage! From there, I embossed a piece of Mint Macaron using the Petal Burst Embossing Folder. As a last touch, I added a length of Organza Ribbon. Unfortunately the ribbon is already sold out! Order your Birdcage Builder Stamp Set soon before it retires!

  • Stamps: Friendly Wishes; Papillon Potpurri
  • Inks: Bermuda Bay
  • Cardstock: Cupcakes and Carousels DSP; Bermuda Bay; Daffodil Delight; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim
  • Tools: Elegant Butterfly Punch; Bitty Butterfly Punch

Another great card featuring the Affectionately Yours DSP and my favorite retiring color, Mint Macaron.  My favorite part is the tone on tone stamping of the Love and Affection stamp.

Here for You

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a Congratulations or Graduation card. I went a little untraditional with my graduation card, but I think this would be a great card to give to that special graduate. I used some of the scraps of the Cupcakes and Carousels DSP pack to create a basic background. From there I added a sentiment from the retiring Friendly Wishes Stamp Set. The card seemed a bit plain, so I added a couple of punched butterflies. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the butterflies were stamped before punched. The stamping adds just a bit more texture to the card. I finished off the card with some coordinating sequins.

  • Stamps: Friendly Wishes; Papillon Potpurri
  • Inks: Bermuda Bay
  • Cardstock: Cupcakes and Carousels DSP; Bermuda Bay; Daffodil Delight; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim
  • Tools: Elegant Butterfly Punch; Bitty Butterfly Punch

March Memory Planner Pages

I've had these pages finished for a few weeks, but never got around to taking pics of the completed pages. I rectified that oversight this week. For March, I went with a purple, green, and yellow color scheme. I also tried to use more layering pieces instead of just washi tape.

To document my birthday day in San Francisco, I added a small pocket pages insert for the multitude of photos. I kept the journaling light, but made sure to include the names of every place I stopped. Perfect way to get it all in!

Had to get a bit creative due to a couple of sick weeks...

It's a Sundae Kind of Day!

Today’s card features one of my favorite carrying over bundles. I absolutely love the Tasty Treats Bundle was was so excited to see it on the carrying over list. One more year with this set at least! I recreated the fun sundaes from the paper into physical form with the great matching framelits. Some layering circles help highlight the sundae. From there I added a strip of washi tape and sentiment to finish off the card.

  • Stamps: Cool Treats
  • Inks: Chocolate Chip
  • Cardstock: Tasty Treats DSP; Flirty Flamingo; Pool Party; Chocolate Chip; Pear Pizzaz; Peekaboo Peach; Watermelon Wonder
  • Accessories: Tasty Treats Washi Tape
  • Tools: Layering Cirlces Framelits; Frozen Treats Framelits
