Hoo Hoo Halloween

Today's post is all about the cute owl stamp in the Spooky Cat set. I loved how the owl can be stamped into the tree branch from the designer series paper stack. From there I added his orange accents (ignore his slight orange chest) and black eyes. The cute witch's hat was fussy cut from the paper. This card was one of the two Halloween themed options I showcased at September's stamp club. (The other card will be featured later this month.)

Falling Leaves

Today's post features the last of our September stamp club projects. I wanted to make a autumn inspired card, but hadn't bought any of the fall themed stamp sets from the Holiday Catalog and had run out of Painted Autumn DSP. So what to do? Pull out a favorite retired stamp set and create my own background! I added some Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango to a piece of Whisper White using a brayer. I love how the brayer gives the pieces a textured look without the physical texture. From there I stamped on some leaves using Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I love this look so much! From there, I added some great accessories and a great sentiment.

How About a Coffee?

Today's post features the 3D project from September's stamp club. I wanted to make something simple but useful. This little gift card holder is perfect! Simply cut out two same size pieces of cardstock to create the bases. From there, I added some great retired paper as a background and went to town creating my coffee cups. For club, the ladies made their own with a variety of paper scraps and colors. Love it!

On the High Seas

Today's post features a card we made at September's stamp club. I bought the Message in a Bottle stamp set for Arthur and Quentin's pirate themed birthday party (not until October 7th), but of course I was going to make more cards using it. I love the little bottle that can filled with a variety of ocean themed objects. For this card, I decided on a ship in a bottle. I stamped the water onto my paper and onto a piece of scrap paper. To them cut the water out of my scrap paper to create a mask for when I stamped my ship. I wanted the ship to be floating in the water.  From there I added some white chalk marker to my sails and a bit to the water. I stamped my sentiment and stamped a little gray heart that I them glittered up with some Wink of Stella. From there I die cut my image, added my background pieces, and finally added a few sequins.

Sunday Haul #12

Stop into Hobby Lobby for birthday party supplies (which I did find), and I couldn't pass up these great clearance and sale items

IMG_1477.jpg

I got a big order from Brandy's Shop. I specifically looked for Christmas/Winter and fall kits. These ones are too cute! I think my favorite is actually the Snow Birds kit (first pic, bottom right).

I also got an order from Formless Designs. I grabbed a few sampler kits and a majority of the Aria Collection (second pic down).

Fall Bingo -- Holiday Cards

Last Saturday, I held my second Stampin' Up! Bingo Party. It was so much fun! For this time, I went with a fall theme even though it was over 100 degrees this past weekend. This week, I'll be sharing the projects I prepped and the make n takes from the party.

Today's post is all about the make n takes I created featuring Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas items from the Holiday Catalog. I gave my ladies a choice for their goody bags. Some went with a combo of two holidays and some stuck with one holiday. From there, I created a few examples. The two designs could be switched to the other holidays by just switching out the paper, sentiments, and accessories. Easy Peasy! The first card is simple but oh so cute! I embossed my layer of Whisper White and layered on some DSP and a cute coffee cup. For the final touch, I added a cute felt shape.

  • Stamps: Merry Cafe
  • Inks: Garden Green; Real Red
  • Cardstock: Quilted Christmas DSP; Garden Green; Whisper White; Crumb Cake
  • Accessories: Stitched Felt Embellishments
  • Tools: Polka Dot Embossing Folder; Coffee Cups Framelits

For my second card, I switched out the theme to Thanksgiving I added some stamped leaves using tone on tone stamping to play off the DSP. From there I created another cute coffee cup and finished off my card with some natural elements.

  • Stamps: Merry Cafe
  • Inks: Cajun Craze
  • Cardstock: Painted Autumn DSP; Cajun Craze; Very Vanilla

Desktop Thursday #3

Somehow I haven't done one of these since January? Is that really true? My goodness! So here's the current state of my craft area. Yep it's a total disaster. I've got so many different projects happening at the same time. I hope to be able to clear this off sometime this weekend. But first I have to get through tonight's class and Saturday's stamp club...

IMG_1480.jpg

Close up of my main crafting area. So much stuff! I need to dig in and clean.

Fall Bingo -- Whole Lot of Lovely MnT

Last Saturday, I held my second Stampin' Up! Bingo Party. It was so much fun! For this time, I went with a fall theme even though it was over 100 degrees this past weekend. This week, I'll be sharing the projects I prepped and the make n takes from the party.

Today's post is all about the make n takes I created featuring the Whole Lot of Lovely Suite (page 86-87 in the annual catalog). I ended up making two examples for the ladies to choose from. My first card featured the large sentiment from the Lots of Love stamp set. I love good sentiments and this one was perfect! After stamping the sentiment, I added some stamped flowers and leaves onto the background to echo the DSP. I finished the card with a few faceted gems and a piece of ribbon. Both the gems and ribbon sparkle a bit.

9:6-1.jpg
  • Stamps: Lots of Love
  • Inks: Basic Black, Pool Party, Pear Pizzaz, Tranquil Tide, Crushed Curry
  • Cardstock: Whole Lot of Lovely DSP, Basic Black, Pool Part; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Black Shimmer Ribbon; Clear Faceted Gems
  • Tools:

The second card was a bit more simple in visual design. I stamped some random pieces onto the Powder Pink CS and then added some great patterned paper. I didn't want to distract from the card, so I just added a simple sentiment piece.

  • Inks: Tranquil Tide, Powder Pink
  • Cardstock: Whole Lot of Lovely DSP, Powder Pink, Tranquil Tide,
  • Accessories: Powder Pink Shimmer Ribbon; White Accents

And here are all the great cards the ladies made during Bingo. I love how everyone's cards are so different. I love seeing what the ladies do with my original designs.
