Festive Drapery

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using our favorite new accessory. Hands down my favorite accessory is the beautiful 2016-2018 In Color Ruched Ribbons! I'm not usually a ribbon lover, but these have changed my opinion. I love the colors and the feel of these ribbons. For this card, I decided to highlight the gorgeous Emerald Envy Ribbon. This card may look complicated, but believe me, it is simple!

Directions for a drapery card:

  • Cut DSP to 4" x 11 1/2"
  • Score at 3", 4", 6", 7", 9", and 10"
  • Cut at a diagonal starting at 3", leaving about 1-1 12" at the end.
  • Fold!

Supplies used:

  • Stamps: Jar of Love
  • Inks: Melon Mambo
  • Cardstock: Festive Birthday DSP; Tempting Turquoise; Melon Mambo
  • Accessories: Emerald Envy Ruched Ribbon; White Accents
  • Tools: Lots of Labels Framelits

Jar of Thanks

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the new Jar of Love Bundle. This is such a cute bundle! It was love at first sight for me! The bundle includes the Jar of Love Stamp set and the Everyday Jars Framelits. So many pieces!

For my card, I decided to choose on jar and make a simple image. I heat embossed this cute mason jar and sentiment with white embossing powder. I love the contrast with the smoky slate cardstock. I then stamped and die cut the greenery and flowers. After embellishment my blossoms with some Wink of Stella (see detail pic below), I went about picking some patterned paper to go with it. Have I mentioned how much I love the 2016-2018 In Color Envelope Paper? It's so great for layering on cards! I chose to repeat the Flirty Flamingo and Emerald Envy from the flowers. The card was still missing something until I added a couple of White Accents. Perfect!

Detail of the embossing and Wink of Stella...

  • Stamps: Jar of Love
  • Inks: Flirty Flamingo; Emerald Envy
  • Cardstock: 2016-2018 In Color Envelope Paper; Smoky Slate; Whisper white

SSINKMC33: Going Places Thank You

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using elements from the mystery challenge below.

For this month's challenge, I used four the elements: shape, colors, special element, and theme. I played with picking some patterns from the Going Places DSP stack and helping to fill out the remaining spaces with a washi tape covered circle and a stamped circle. The size of the circles are slightly off, but overall I love the look of this card.

  • Stamps: Another Thank You (retiring); I Think You're Great (retiring)
  • Inks: Delightful Dijon
  • Cardstock: Going Places DSP; Delightful Dijon; Very Vanilla
  • Accessories: It's My Party Washi Tape; Gold Embossing Powder
  • Tools: 1 1/4" Circle Punch

SSINKIC32: Cups in a Row

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card based off the of the image below.

So my card went a little off the mark this time. I started out with the idea of adding some map paper on my card. But then I wasn't inspired by the map paper. So I turned to the swirled designs and started putting pieces together. In the end, I cup out three coffee cups and layered them onto more DSP and an embossed piece of cardstock. Sometimes you have every intention of following a sketch, picture, or formula, but the end result is something completely different. At least I still like the card I made!

  • Stamps: Another Thank You
  • Inks: Basic Black
  • Cardstock: Going Places DSP; Lost Lagoon; Sahara Sand
  • Accessories:
  • Tools: Stripes Embossing Folder; Cups and Kettle Framelits

SSINKCC32: Botanical Blooms

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the three highlighted colors:

I wanted to play with the Botanical Builder Framelits more before the Occasions Catalog ended. I thought the color challenge would be perfect to highlight the framelits. This is such a simple card, but makes a bold statement. I played with the placement of the foliage for awhile before deciding on this placement. The card was still missing something. I finished it with a few rhinestones!

  • Stamps: Another Thank You
  • Inks: Crushed Curry; Marina Mist; Pear Pizzaz
  • Cardstock:Crushed Curry; Marina Mist; Pear Pizzaz; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Rhinestones
  • Tools: Botanical Builder Framelits; Ovals Framelits

Marbled in Green

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create an anything goes card. I decided to feature February's stamp club technique: shaving cream marbling.

To make marbled cardstock, spray foaming shaving cream onto a flat surface (I used aluminum foil). Level out using a scraper, spatula, or another similarly shaped object. Add drops of ink using reinkers. For this card, I dropped three different colors. Take a toothpick or chopstick and swirl the ink around to create the marble pattern. Press your cardstock into the shaving cream making sure to hit all areas. Remove from shaving cream, but don't wipe off the excess shaving cream just yet. You want the ink to start to dry before wiping off excess. Otherwise, you will smear the ink instead of getting a nice marbled effect. Once it is drier, wipe off the excess shaving cream with a paper towel. Let dry even more before attaching to card.

  • Stamps: Another Thank You
  • Inks: Garden Green; Pistachio Pudding reinker (retired); Pear Pizzaz reinker; Gumball Green reinker (retired)
  • Cardstock: Garden Green; Pear Pizzaz; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Botanical Gardens Washi Tape
  • Tools: Washi Label Punch

Hostess Sets, Circles, and Flowers

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card featuring a hostess set. A Whole Lot of Lovely is my favorite hostess set. I'm not usually drawn to the super feminine sets, but this one is lovely! I decided to use a very limited color combo and play with my markers. The end result is a nice and clean design that features some fun elements.
