Autumn Leaf Triptych

Today's post is a throwback card using some of my retired items. I wanted to use my Magnificent Maple stamp for a fun autumn card. I thought about doing a triptych of some kind, but was unsure of how. And then I stumbled upon this card from Crafty Caroline Creates. Using the blocks as stamps was the perfect idea of how to create visual interest for my triptych. I inked up my small block, sprayed with water, and stamped to create this fun look. After letting those dry, I stamped on my leaf image. A simple sentiment and some jute twine finished off my card.

A Hug for You

Today's post was another Pinterest inspired card. I found a very similar card from a great cardmaker and have now misplaced the link. If it was your card that I saw, send me a note so I can like to you as my inspiration! Back to the card. I love the layering bits on this one. The layers add a great level of texture to the card.

Apple Cider Time

Today's post is another fun card using my favorite Holiday Catalog stamp set, Merry Cafe! I wanted to make an Apple Cider card to celebrate apple season. I went simple with the accompanying bits with an embossed piece of Delightful Dijon as a great background. I'm loving the color combination of Delightful Dijon, Cherry Cobbler, and Chocolate Chip.  Now if I could find some yummy Apple Cider, life would be complete.

Lots of Love CASE

Today's card is a straight CASE (Copy and Share Everything) from the Stampin' Up! catalog. I just love the multitude of layers, textures, and patterns of this card. I loved this card so much that it will be a featured card at October's Stamp Club.

Leafy Hello

Today's post is an autumn card made with primarily retired products. I have officially run out of Painted Autumn DSP (this year's fall paper), but I do have some random DSP from previous years. So I grabbed this piece of Into the Woods DSP and made a base for my stamped leaves. The only current item I used was the Stitched Shapes Framelits to create my sentiment. I feel great about using some random scraps and fighting the urge to just buy more new stuff!

On the High Seas

Today's post features a card we made at September's stamp club. I bought the Message in a Bottle stamp set for Arthur and Quentin's pirate themed birthday party (not until October 7th), but of course I was going to make more cards using it. I love the little bottle that can filled with a variety of ocean themed objects. For this card, I decided on a ship in a bottle. I stamped the water onto my paper and onto a piece of scrap paper. To them cut the water out of my scrap paper to create a mask for when I stamped my ship. I wanted the ship to be floating in the water.  From there I added some white chalk marker to my sails and a bit to the water. I stamped my sentiment and stamped a little gray heart that I them glittered up with some Wink of Stella. From there I die cut my image, added my background pieces, and finally added a few sequins.

Fall Bingo -- Whole Lot of Lovely MnT

Last Saturday, I held my second Stampin' Up! Bingo Party. It was so much fun! For this time, I went with a fall theme even though it was over 100 degrees this past weekend. This week, I'll be sharing the projects I prepped and the make n takes from the party.

Today's post is all about the make n takes I created featuring the Whole Lot of Lovely Suite (page 86-87 in the annual catalog). I ended up making two examples for the ladies to choose from. My first card featured the large sentiment from the Lots of Love stamp set. I love good sentiments and this one was perfect! After stamping the sentiment, I added some stamped flowers and leaves onto the background to echo the DSP. I finished the card with a few faceted gems and a piece of ribbon. Both the gems and ribbon sparkle a bit.

  • Stamps: Lots of Love
  • Inks: Basic Black, Pool Party, Pear Pizzaz, Tranquil Tide, Crushed Curry
  • Cardstock: Whole Lot of Lovely DSP, Basic Black, Pool Part; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Black Shimmer Ribbon; Clear Faceted Gems
  • Tools:

The second card was a bit more simple in visual design. I stamped some random pieces onto the Powder Pink CS and then added some great patterned paper. I didn't want to distract from the card, so I just added a simple sentiment piece.

  • Stamps: Lots of Love
  • Inks: Tranquil Tide, Powder Pink
  • Cardstock: Whole Lot of Lovely DSP, Powder Pink, Tranquil Tide,
  • Accessories: Powder Pink Shimmer Ribbon; White Accents
  • Tools: Layering Circles Framelits

And here are all the great cards the ladies made during Bingo. I love how everyone's cards are so different. I love seeing what the ladies do with my original designs.

Have a Cup

Today's card features one of my favorite new stamp sets: Coffee Cafe. I love coffee so of course i had to buy this bundle! For this card I decided to layer on a ton of pieces (DSP, washi tape, die cut cups, background layers) until I created a fun layered card. I dug through my washi tape stash to find something that would match the colors in the DSP pieces. Thankfully I had some retired Moroccan Washi Tape and some Gold Glitter Washi Tape. I think they add just enough interest to this crazy card.

  • Stamps: Coffee Cafe
  • Inks: Early Espresso
  • Cardstock: Coffee Break DSP; Garden Green; Soft Sky; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Moroccan Washi Tape (retired); Gold Glitter Washi Tape (retired)
  • Tools: Coffee Cups Framelits; Lots of Labels Framelits

Bokeh Butterfly

Today's challenge was to revisit a technique in preparation for August stamp club (was August 19). I hadn't revisited the bokeh technique for awhile, so I decided to focus on that. I also haven't featured it at stamp club for at least a year... For this card, I sponged on my colored ink to a piece of Whisper White. I then die cut a acetate overlay with multiple different sized circles. I then sponged on white craft ink using the die cut piece as a mask. I blended the white to create varying degrees of opacity. After letting that piece dry, I added the rest of the elements of the card.

  • Stamps: Birthday Blooms
  • Inks: Fresh Fig, Pool Party, Old Olive, White Craft Ink
  • Cardstock: Fresh Fig, Pool Party, Silver Foil, Whisper White
  • Accessories: Pool Party Ribbon (retired)
  • Tools: Bold Butterfly Thinlits
