Fall Bike Ride

Today's card is being featured at my August die cuts class. I challenged myself to create another card using the Bike Ride stamp set and Build a Bike framelits. This card is super simple, but so cute! Instead of flowers (or a dog), I added a fun stack of books onto the back of my classic Crushed Curry and Soft Suede bike. After adding a sentiment and a strip of ribbon, I still felt there was something missing. Thankfully the Build a Bike Framelits includes this cute little butterfly die. Perfect addition!

  • Stamps: Bike Ride; Better Together
  • Inks: Fresh Fig; Crushed Curry; Soft Suede; Crumb Cake; Old Olive; Bravo Burgundy (retired); Tangerine Tango
  • Cardstock: Fresh Fig; Crushed Curry; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon

Sharing the Love

Today's card is one of the featured projects for August's stamp club. Did you know that every year Stampin' Up! features a stamp set who's proceeds support the Ronald McDonald House? The stamp sets are always adorable and this year's set is no different. May I introduce you to Sharing Sweet Thoughts!

I knew I had to feature this great stamp set at stamp club.  I decided to go simple in my design and construction. I filled a jar with some cute butterflies and a branch to create my focal point. From there I pulled some great pieces from the Wood Texture DSP Stack and a cool blue piece from Coffee Break DSP. The card was missing a few embellishments. Thank goodness for doilies, glitter enamel shapes, and white enamel shapes. Perfect additions!

  • Stamps: Sharing Sweet Thoughts
  • Inks: Dapper Denim; Early Espresso; Always Artichoke; Pear Pizzazz; Crumb Cake; Baja Breeze (retired); Crushed Curry; Pale Plum (retired); Flirty Flamingo; Rich Razzleberry
  • Cardstock: Coffee Break DSP; Wood Textures DSP; Soft Suede; Whisper White

GDP098: Dinosaur Banners

Today's challenge is my submission for Global Design Projects Sketch Challenge. I love sketch challenges! They give me some start for my card but are really very open to interpretation.

I pulled out one of my favorite patterns in the entire catalog: the dinosaur paper from Pick a Pattern. Those little dinosaurs are just so cute! Once I picked my focal paper, I grabbed some coordinating but more muted patterns to use as the base and as another banner. I added a simple sentiment from the same suite and a simple faux ribbon detail. This card was super easy and fun. I will be featuring it as a free make n take for my crop day this coming Sunday.

  • Stamps: Pieces and Patterns
  • Inks: Basic Black
  • Cardstock: Pick a Pattern DSP, Emerald Envy, Crushed Curry
  • Accessories: Crushed Curry Ribbon

Quick and Easy Squares

Today's trio of cards were another attempt to use up some scrap DSP laying around. I had a ton of smaller peices of DSP (too small for a card layer), but didn't want to throw them out. I found a great repeated shape design on Pinterest and modified it for my cards. I simply die cut three squares and adhered them to a piece of slightly larger cardstock. That attached to the card base and stamped with a simple sentiment created a trio of quick and easy cards.

Mint Macaron Variant:

Watermelon Wonder Variant: Notice my boo-boo? This one will probably go into the trash, but I wanted you to see how changing the colors and patterned paper really change up the card.

  • Cardstock: Pretty Petals DSP; Pacific Point; Carried Away DSP; Mint Macaron; Tasty Treats DSP; Watermelon Wonder; Whisper White

From the Sky

A fun card today featuring some more retired paper and a current embossing folder and sentiment. I still have some leftover Carried Away DSP (how? I know, it's a mystery to me) and decided to create a fun layered card with one of the pieces. I didn't have enough for a full card base, but I did have enough to create a partial card base. To add something to the card, I embossed the layer piece of Peekaboo Peach with the current Oh My Stars Embossing Folder. Before embossing, I added a strip of random watercolor-esque washi tape I had in my stash. If gives just enough to create a finished effect. Love this card!

Peekaboo Hello

Today's card was an attempt to use more of my retired DSP. I still had a few pieces of the beautiful Affectionately Yours DSP laying around in my scrap box. One piece was big enough to create this great peekaboo card for today. I kept my sentiment simple to keep the focus on the paper. As a last touch, I added a candy dot to the fold.

  • Inks: Watermelon Wonder
  • Cardstock: Affectionately Yours DSP (retired); Night of Navy; Whisper White

A Touch of Copper

An elegant navy, white, and copper card for you today. Sometimes less is more and this card is the perfect example. I was going to add more color and details, but decided to just add a strip of copper to allow the DSP to shine.

Layered Circles

Today's card is another one of my fabulous $2 cards! Somehow I used all the of pink and purple DSP from the Blooms and Bliss DSP pack, but left all the blue and green DSP. So I looked on Pinterest for some interest design ideas of a DSP focus and found a great idea using nested circles. I love the pattern play and coordination of this card. So cute!
