Mint and Gold Tag

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a tag and I went with simple and clean for today. Just a little pattern paper, some fun washi tape, and a heat embossed sentiment to create this sweet little tag.

A Friendly CASE

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to CASE a card from one of the Stampin' Up catalogs. I chose to recreate this fun card:

I love the different colored markers used to make the sentiment. I love the multiple layers of embellishments. So, I pulled out my current SU color markers and picked a fun, but different color combination. I went with Watermelon Wonder; Dapper Denim, and Delightful Dijon. I have to admit that Delightful Dijon isn't one of my favorite colors, but I think it looks really nice with these other two colors. After recreating the sentiment, I had fun pulling papers and embellishments from my stash. My card isn't an exact CASE. I love taking the basic idea of the example card and putting my own touches to it!

  • Stamps: Friendly Wishes
  • Inks: Dapper Denim; Watermelon Wonder; Delightful Dijon
  • Cardstock: 2015-2017 In Color DSP; Watermelon Wonder; Dapper Denim; Whisper White
  • Accessories: 2016-2018 In Color Enamel Shapes; Gold Sequin Ribbon; Delightful Dijon Ribbon
  • Tools: Lots of Labels Framelits

Splatter Technique

Today's card was our April stamp club technique card. I choose the splatter technique to try out. Basically you drop some ink onto the paper and blow it out using a straw. I experimented a few times with different inks and techniques. The best inks to use were bright colors instead of dark colors. As for technique, I found that blowing one drop at a time was better than trying to do a bigger blob of ink. I can't wait to see what the stamp club ladies create tomorrow night.

A Wildflower Box

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a project featuring a Sale-A-Bration item. I decided to focus on my favorite SAB item: Wildflower Fields DSP. I love the patterns and color combinations in this stack. To help highlight the paper, I decorated a gift box. This was the January Stamp Club 3D project in fact! I modified some instructions i had and created an extra large bow to go on top of the box. I also added a belly band for more visual interest, a flower in the center of the bow and a gift tag. Overall a super cute box! My stamp club ladies made variations using different paper and pattern combos.

To make the bow, you need four pieces of DSP:

  • 3" x 11" -- top loop
  • 3" x 9" -- middle loop
  • 3" x 7" -- base

Punch the three large strips in the middle. Fold over the ends of the top and middle piece and secure with glue dots to create the loops. Layer and glue together. Finish the card off with a strip around the middle section and punch the tails.

To make the belly band, you need two pieces of DSP each 3" x 12". Glue together and lay flat. At one end, score at 4 1/2" and 6 1/4". Start at the 6 1/4" score mark and score from there at 6 1/4". Finally score at 4 1/2" from the last score mark. This should wrap around the box and be able to be attached at the top under the bow.

Detail of the gift tag:

Coloring Fun

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using Stampin' Up's Stampin' Write Markers. I love to color so this was the perfect challenge for me today!

I started with my Vivid Vases stamp. This is the perfect stamp to color! The combinations are endless. To help with all the choices, I picked a blue, green, and purple color scheme. From there I stamped the image without the sentiment on the bottom (I just wiped the sentiment free of ink with a baby wipe before stamping). I grabbed my markers and started coloring. I love the color combos I created! They really pop in person! Since I didn't use the sentiment attached to Vivid Vases, I had to add my own. I chose a sentiment from my current favorite sentiment set: Happy Happenings. I layered my stamped image onto some nice Pool Party patterned paper and Bermuda Bay card base. Some Lost Lagoon washi tape and Bermuda Bay sequins complete the look!

  • Stamps: Vivid Vases; Happy Happenings
  • Inks: Momento Black; Lost Lagoon; Pool Party; Island Indigo; Wisteria Wonder; Blackberry Bliss; Perfect Plum; Always Artichoke; Old Olive; Pear Pizzazz
  • Cardstock: Bermuda Bay; Cherry on Top DSP
  • Accessories: 2015-2017 In Colors Washi Tape; Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim
  • Tools:

Fun with Decorative Masks

Good morning everyone and welcome to The Craft Sea! I'm so excited you are here to check out my crafting journey. I'm flattered to have been asked to join the Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration Design Team! I love the variety of challenges and posts that the team posts each month. I'm looking forward to sharing my own creations and connecting with fellow bloggers. Make sure to check out the main site for other great products and play along with us!

Today's card is featured over at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration and highlights SU's new set of decorative masks. Instead of 2 8 1/2" by 8 1/2" masks per package, the new Happy Pattern set features 4 6" by 6" masks. I decided to make two cards using two different masks.

The first card was inspired by the great rainbow cards I've seen on Pinterest. I wanted to use the mask to make my own rainbow. And I love the results! A simple large sentiment helps fill the space but doesn't overshadow the mask. Finishing the card with some sequins was the perfect touch!

  • Cardstock: Smoky Slate, Whisper White
  • Accessories: Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim, Gold Sequin Trim
  • Tools: Happy Patterns Decorative Masks

The second card used one of the other masks for a simple one layer card. I wanted to featured my favorite 2014-2016 In Colors: Lost Lagoon and Blackberry Bliss. I threw in some Tip Top Taupe and Sahara Sand to balance out the color. Simple but cute.
