New Favorite

Today's card is featured over at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration and features a current favorite of mine: Sprinkles of Life stamp set. Actually, this set isn't mine. I borrowed it from a friend for the month, but I have fell in love with the set. In total, I've made six different card variations in just a few weeks. I'm getting all the use of this stamp set before I give it back.

For this card, I decided to play off of the natural colors of trees and use more of favorite Cherry on Top DSP. I found some coordinating pattern paper in the stack and had fun layering it in a nontraditional way. I love all the white space on this card. It reminds me of fresh and bright interiors. Love it!

Cherry on Top Love

Today's card is featured over at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration and features a card made with my favorite DSP.  Even though it's been around since June, I am still in love with my Cherry on Top Paper Stack. The fun patterns and bright colors keep calling me back!

I decided to use one of the busier patterns as a base for a fun card. Thankfully a friend lent me her Sprinkles of Life stamp set. It works perfectly with the paper. I stamped and punched/cut out a simple ice cream cone to fill out the center of my card. I used the colors from the pattern paper and added some layered cardstock. I finished the card with a few Bermuda Bay candy dots.

Coloring Fun

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using Stampin' Up's Stampin' Write Markers. I love to color so this was the perfect challenge for me today!

I started with my Vivid Vases stamp. This is the perfect stamp to color! The combinations are endless. To help with all the choices, I picked a blue, green, and purple color scheme. From there I stamped the image without the sentiment on the bottom (I just wiped the sentiment free of ink with a baby wipe before stamping). I grabbed my markers and started coloring. I love the color combos I created! They really pop in person! Since I didn't use the sentiment attached to Vivid Vases, I had to add my own. I chose a sentiment from my current favorite sentiment set: Happy Happenings. I layered my stamped image onto some nice Pool Party patterned paper and Bermuda Bay card base. Some Lost Lagoon washi tape and Bermuda Bay sequins complete the look!

  • Stamps: Vivid Vases; Happy Happenings
  • Inks: Momento Black; Lost Lagoon; Pool Party; Island Indigo; Wisteria Wonder; Blackberry Bliss; Perfect Plum; Always Artichoke; Old Olive; Pear Pizzazz
  • Cardstock: Bermuda Bay; Cherry on Top DSP
  • Accessories: 2015-2017 In Colors Washi Tape; Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim
  • Tools:

SSINKCC23: Watermelon Wonder, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake

Today's card is featured over at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration and features a fun color challenge: Watermelon Wonder, Bermuda Bay, and Crumb Cake. I love the fun clean look of the color combo. It screams summer!

I decided to have some fun with texture and layers. Nesting the sentiment in oval die cuts gives the card lots of visual interest without being too bulky. Adding the embossed piece of crumb cake and flowers balances out the negative layers. The last touch was to add some candy dots to the center of the flowers. SU doesn't sell candy dots in the in-colors, but Real Red looks great with the Watermelon ink. Overall, a very cute flower card!

  • Stamps: Friendly Wishes, Flower Shop, Petite Petals
  • Inks: Watermelon Wonder, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake
  • Cardstock: Cherry on Top DSP, Watermelon Wonder, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
  • Accessories: Candy Dots
  • Tools: Ovals framelits, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Pansy Punch, Petite Petals Punch

Candles Card

Next month we are holding our demo group's new catalog swap. We each pick a new stamp set from the catalog and make 8-10 cards. I chose Build a Birthday. I know it isn't July yet, but of course I finished my cards earlier and wanted to share them with you.

I've made a few Build a Birthday cards using the pieces to create a cake. this time, I wanted to highlight the ability to made candles. I found a similar layout on Pinterest and ran with it with some modifications. The pictures doesn't show it well but the piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock is actually embossed with the Lucky Stars Embossing folder. Adds a bit of texture to the card.

  • Stamps: Build a Birthday
  • Inks: Daffodil Delight; Watermelon Wonder; Pool Party; Cucumber Crush
  • Cardstock: Cherry on Top DSP; Watermelon Wonder; Bermuda Bay; Pool Party; Crushed Curry; Whisper White
  • Accessories:
  • Tools: Lucky Stars Embossing Folder; Circles Framelits; Hexagon Punch (banner end)

Summer Fun Card

This card was sent to one of my demo friends in our monthly swap. And it's a huge departure from what I usually do. I really wanted to challenge myself to use some of the great abstract stamps to create a picture.

Our theme was summer and right away I knew that I wanted to add a sun to my card! I punched out rays with my Banner Punch and a sentiment from I Think You're Great. For added interest, my rays were punched from three different color cardstock. From there, I thought an ice cream cone would pair nicely with the sun. A free-handed cone stamped with a pattern stamp and a top traced from a different stamp from I Think You're Great made the perfect ice cream cone. But the card still looked to plain. Add some "waves" using the Work of Art set and suddenly my card was complete!

  • Stamps: I Think You're Great; Work of Art
  • Inks: Daffodil Delight; Tip Top Taupe; Pool Party; Lost Lagoon
  • Cardstock: Cherry on Top DSP; Tip Top Taupe; Cucumber Crush; Pool Party; Daffodil Delight; Delightful Dijon; Crushed Curry
  • Accessories:
  • Tools: Banner Punch; Circles Framelits

Donuts are good!

I'm really digging the new Cherry on Top DSP stack. Instead of the old 4.5" x 6.5" size, the new DSP stacks come in 6" x 6" size. Not sure how I feel about the size change, but I'm really loving the colors and patterns from this particular stack.

I saw a cute donut card on Pinterest and knew i had to create my own card. I love the layered patterned paper and fun colors. The donut pattern is the cutest! To make the donut I layered a piece of DSP on top of Chocolate Chip cardstock. I used the smallest circle framelit to cut out the donut hole. Too cute!
