December 2015 Crafting Goals

A recap of last month’s goals:

  • Make at least 50 Christmas cards — Success! I actually made over 100 Christmas cards during November. Participating in 30 Days of Christmas cards really pushed me forward!
  • Update Arthur’s PL album — Success! Arthur's 1-2 years old album has been finished and put on the shelf. And I started his next album. Arthur's album and the family album are now at the same time period.
  • Finish October PL pages — Success! I love getting this done right after the month is over. It helps remember things for journaling and I like not getting behind!
  • Prep December Daily pages —
  • Finish organizing cards for craft fairs — Success!  I had most of my crafts ready for the Nov. 14th bazaar. I just did a few more for the Dec. 5th one. Thankfully my co-sellers came over for a prep/crop day on Saturday. We finished up our inventory for the upcoming fair and I worked on some other projects.
  • Finish two calendars for gifts or craft fairs —Fail. I decided to scrap the idea of doing them for craft fairs. I still plan on finishing one for my Grandma's Christmas gift, but it may have to wait until I get to Indiana...

This month’s goals:

  • Journal/prep December Daily pages -- I'm not going to finish until i get back in January, but I'm taking some supplies to start laying the pages out or at least do some journaling.
  • Plan out my Occasions catalog swap -- I've picked a stamp set, just need to decided what to do.
  • Make my spring wishlist -- It's started. I just want to plan out what I'm buying in the next few months.
  • Finish any crafty Christmas presents -- I have a few Holiday albums to finish and some other things...
  • November PL pages -- Hoping to finish before I leave for Indiana on the 9th.
  • Plan and post January/February Classes -- Trying to plan ahead!

A Classic Christmas

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a Christmas card. I've loved using the Merry Moments DSP pack. This card and it's variation were a way to highlight the paper. It's a clean card, but I love it.

30 Days of Christmas Cards Day 30

For the last day of 30 Days of Christmas Cards, I went a bit crazy with my gold embossing powder. I actually embossed about 10 different images. I'll be using those on other cards or in my December Daily.

Today's card features one of my favorite retired SU stamps: Star Tree. I love the simplicity of this stamp. And yet, I always forget I own it until I start digging in my Christmas supply box As this embossed image is so striking in person, I decided to do a simple pattern paper background and some layering cardstock. The card was still missing something. Thankfully I finally found my misplaced Home for Christmas Enamel Dots. Perfect finish!

Here's a nicer shot for the embossed tree.

  • Stamps: Star Tree
  • Inks:
  • Cardstock: Trim the Tree DSP; Garden Green; Real Red; Whisper White

30 Days of Christmas Cards Day 28

Today's card is actually a trio of cards. After almost a month of making cards, I have a ton of scraps laying around the desk. I hate to throw them away, but what to make with them? Of course, a banner card! I jazzed this one up a bit by embossing the vanilla piece and adding a simple sentiment on the bottom. The inside includes a little Christmas quote.

The red card:

The blue card:

 The green card:

  • Stamps: Retired SU Sentiment
  • Inks: Mossy Meadow; Cherry Cobbler; Midnight Muse (retired)
  • Cardstock: Merry Moments DSP; Trim the Tree DSP (retired); Festival of Prints DSP (retired); Mossy Meadow; Cherry Cobbler; Midnight Muse (retired)
  • Accessories:

A Rainy Day

Today's card is featured over at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration and features a Sprinkles of Life card. Once again, I am using Sprinkles of Life for my Friday Favorite. I borrowed the set from a friend and have fallen in love with it!

I decided to play a bit with my new watercolor paper. I simply painted on some Lost Lagoon ink to create a stormy background. It looks much better in person I promise. From there, I added the clouds and raindrops to great the focal point of the card.

  • Stamps: Sprinkles of Life
  • Inks: Basic Gray; Island Indigo; Lost Lagoon
  • Cardstock: Watercolor Paper; Smoky Slate; Pool Party
  • Accessories:
