Washi Tape Holder

The perfect 3D project for this month's stamp club. I loved making this simple yet usable washi tape holder. Now I want to make a ton to hold all my washi, but I might just settle for a few to hold the current SU washi sets. The project may look complicated, but it's really very simple. The cuts and scores are as follows:

5 Tape Holder

Cardstock – 11 x 6-5/8″

Score on the LONG side at 1, 3, 5-1/2, 8, 10″

Score on the SHORT side at 2, 4-5/8″

3 Tape Holder

Cardstock – 11 x 5-5/8″

Score on the LONG side at 1, 3, 5-1/2, 8, 10″

Score on the SHORT side at 2, 3-5/8″

From there, you fold from the outside in to make the basic box. Cut diagonally to create the opening on either side of the box. To finish, add washi tape around the edge to hold the two flaps together.

Wildflower Triptych

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using our wonderful markers! My collection of SU markers (current and retired colors) is one of my go-to supplies while making a card. I decided to make another simple card with some fun coloring. I took a piece of white cardstock, stamped my images, colored them, and then cut the piece into three equal pieces. From there, I adhered the pieces on dimensionals and placed then slightly apart from each other. This creates a nice triptych effect. Add a great sentiment from Happy Happenings and the card is finished!

  • Stamps: Flowering Fields; Happy Happening
  • Inks: Basic Black; Hello Honey; Blackberry Bliss; Old Olive; Lost Lagoon
  • Cardstock: Perfect Plum; Whisper White

Layered Sunburst

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using candy dots. Candy dots are hands down my favorite Stampin' Up embellishment. I use them all the time. For this card, I focused on creating a multiple layered card featuring dots. I could then add on candy dots in coordinating colors to finish off the effect. In fact, I loved this card so much that I choose it as one of the March stamp club cards.

  • Stamps: Sunburst Sayings
  • Inks: Pacific Point
  • Cardstock: Schoolhouse DSP; Pool Party; Daffodil Delight
  • Accessories: Candy Dots

Tea Kettle of Sequins

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using an Occasions Catalog Bundle. I chose A Nice Cuppa Bundle featuring A Nice Cuppa Stamp Set and Cups and Kettle Framelits. I pulled out the Pretty Petals DSP from the annual catalog and went about picking two similar but different pieces. The hardest part of this card was layering the Calypso Coral die cut circle, window sheet, and Very Vanilla Circle together to create my sequins pocket. Took a bit of patience, but it turned out well!

  • Stamps: A Nice Cuppa
  • Inks: Mossy Meadow
  • Cardstock: Pretty Petals DSP; Calypso Coral; Very Vanilla; Pear Pizzaz
  • Accessories: Metallic Sequins
  • Tools: Cups and Kettle Framelits; Circles Framelits; Hexagon Punch

SSINKCC32: Botanical Blooms

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the three highlighted colors:

I wanted to play with the Botanical Builder Framelits more before the Occasions Catalog ended. I thought the color challenge would be perfect to highlight the framelits. This is such a simple card, but makes a bold statement. I played with the placement of the foliage for awhile before deciding on this placement. The card was still missing something. I finished it with a few rhinestones!

April 2016 Crafting Goals

A very small list of goals this month...

  • March PL pages -- Oh course...
  • Plan and prep April and May's stamp club cards -- Want to be prepared early.
  • Attempt to fill stamp club for next round -- I'm hoping to get enough ladies for June to September for a mini club.

A recap of last month's goals:

  • February PL pages — Success! I even finished these before leaving for Indiana.
  • Finish Retreat Crafts — Success! And they looked really cool.
  • Send Out March Cards/Take April Cards with Me to Indiana to Send Out —Success! I remembered to take and send all my March cards. And I prepped the April cards, but left them at home. My first April birthday isn't until the 10th, so I can safely send it when I get back.
  • Reevaluate My PL Plan — Success! I've spent some time thinking about my PL plan and I've decided to continue what I've been doing lately. And I plan for next year. There are a few things that I am going to change... I'll let you know later this year.
