Stained Glass Butterfly

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using embossing. My favorite type of embossing is definitely heat embossing. I started with the idea of using the stained glass technique to highlight the heat embossing. I heat embossed the butterfly and then colored the back of the vellum using Stampin' Blends. From there I pulled some DSP that featured my three color choices and worked well together. It's hard to see in the picture below, but the butterfly really shines in person.

A Fall Hello

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using your favorite Fall Color Combo. I love the rich yellow and oranges of the changing leaves. In just a few days, I'll actually get to see some changing leaves when I fly to Indiana before moving to Nebraska. For my card, I wanted to feature those wonderful colors and so I pulled out my Brusho crystals in yellow and gamboge to create this fun background piece. From there I just accessorized with some ribbon and a great raised sentiment.

Bushel and a Bike

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card featuring apples. I really miss the apple festivals of the Midwest. California just doesn't have the same kind of festivals. Thankfully I will get a little taste of it when we move back to Nebraska in a few weeks. For my card, I found that I actually do have apple stamps in my collection. The fun Bike Ride stamp set features this cute little pile of apples that can be added to the basket of the bike or just scattered around. I started with my apples and then grabbed some fun colors that coordinated. From there, I stamped and die cut my bike and created the scene. Of course I had to feature some matching DSP from the Country Lane pack. Now someone bring me a mug of cider!

Orange Abstract

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using our favorite Annual Catalog stamp set. Hands down I love the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set. I've had so much fun creating layered floral images. And the sentiments are just about perfect! For this card, I had fun CASEing a great card from Chat Wszelaki @ Me, My Stamps, and I. I changed a few things here and there, but kept the great design. Such a perfect card!

CASEing Diana

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to CASE a card from fellow Design Team Member Diana Eichfeld. I love Diana's clean style and use of Designer Series Paper. For this card, I CASEd a simple and yet beautiful Petal Promenade card. See her card here! I loved her focus on the DSP with an added bit of shine. So I decided to create my own using my current favorite paper stack: Garden Impressions. Once I picked a beautiful paper pattern, I pulled coordinating cardstock and this beautiful Blushing Bride Shimmer ribbon to tie everything together.

Fun n' Crafty Blog Hop July 2018

FNC Blog Hop.jpg

Welcome to the Fun n’ Crafty Blog Hop for June. This month's blog hop is actually a swap. Various members of the Fun and Crafty Stampers made cards featuring new products from the Annual Catalog and swapped them in the mail. Such amazing cards! I love doing swaps and getting examples using products that I don't have or don't necessarily intend to buy.

For my card, I wanted to feature my newest stamp set, Pop of Petals. I love a good floral image and this one is too cute! The set comes with multiple differently patterned flowers, but I just used one pattern for my card. I picked a few fun colors and coordinated them with a lighter or darker color. From there, I thought the flowers looked a little too plain so I added a background piece of stamped leaves. Much better! I finished the card off with a piece of Wood Texture DSP, a simple sentiment, and some fun Glitter Enamel Dots.

  • Stamps: Abstract Impressions; Pop of Petals
  • Inks: Sea Foam Green; Call Me Clover; Bermuda Bay; Coastal Cabana; Highland Heather; Gorgeous Grape; Flirty Flamingo; Lovely Lipstick
  • Cardstock: Wood Textures DSP; Whisper White

  • Tools: Four-Petal Flower Punch

    Pop of Petals Bundle

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using your favorite bundle. Once getting the new catalog, the Pop of Petals bundle went on my short list. I love a good flower image and this one even comes with a simple punch. Perfect! I actually CASEd this design from fellow Design Team Member Rebecca Urban. I loved her graduated flowers and wanted to play off that idea for my own card. Such a great idea! And such a great bundle! I can't wait to play with it even more.

    Textured Typewriter

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using DSP from July's B3G1 Free DSP sale! A variety of paper packs are included. Check the sale out below.

    CM10020B.jpg

For my card, I pulled out the fun papers from the Tranquil Textures DSP. I pulled the fun dotted paper to act as my base and then started adding layers. Such a simple card, but it really highlights the great patterns and coordinating of the paper packs. To finish out my card, I stamped a simple typewriter with a message.
