Sunny Celebration

3.png

Today’s card is the result of me playing around my Busho crystals more. I love the idea of adding color to black and white pattern paper. I dug through my scrap stash until I found a suitable piece and stared adding color. First I brayered on some Daffodil Delight ink as a base. I then added orange Brusho crystals and water, repeating until I received the desired effect. To finish off the card, I added some coordinating ribbon from my retired stash and simple sentiment.

A Fall Hello

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using your favorite Fall Color Combo. I love the rich yellow and oranges of the changing leaves. In just a few days, I'll actually get to see some changing leaves when I fly to Indiana before moving to Nebraska. For my card, I wanted to feature those wonderful colors and so I pulled out my Brusho crystals in yellow and gamboge to create this fun background piece. From there I just accessorized with some ribbon and a great raised sentiment.

A CASE of Mermaids

unique fun Things to Do on New Year's Eve.png

It's officially May which means it's time to say goodbye to all the retiring stamp sets. In total, I'm losing 18 stamp sets from my collection (although a few of those will be kept because I love them so much). Many of these stamp sets are still available, but they are no longer guaranteed. If you want any of the sets features, buy now before they are gone!

For today's cards, I made the first mermaid card (featuring Brusho) for Stamp Club and then went a little crazy and made three more mermaid cards. Except for the Brush card, these designs were all CASEd from great designers all around the web. The first one was a ton of fun layering on the Brusho crystals to create an undersea look. From them I stamped, colored, and die cut my mermaid. I added some layered DSP and a sentiment and finished my card with some bling. Always have to have a bit of bling.

My second card I CASEd the design from Amy O'Neill @ Amy's Paper Crafts. I replaced a few elements, but I loved the layered circles plus a piece of Calypso Coral ribbon. For a finishing touch, I colored some White Enamel Accents with the Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends.

This card is a direct CASE from Katrina Duffell @ Ink Paper Girl. I did change the color from pink to purple and added some Copper Thread, but the design is the same. SO cute!

I've completely lost the link for this CASE, but isn't the little mermaid and glimmer paper just so cute. I love this card so much.

Brusho Triptych

Today’s card is being featured at my Coloring Class in late March and April. (Check out the Crafty Events on the homepage for full details.) I love playing with Brusho and knew I had to create this awesome Brusho triptych card after seeing a similar one on Pinterest. (Unfortunately the image had a dead link attached otherwise I would link to it.) I simply sprinkled on blue, red, and yellow Brusho Crystals to pieces of Petal Passion DSP, spritzed with water, added more crystals, spritzed, and finally let dry. When using Stampin' Up!'s DSP paper with Brusho, be careful! The paper is fairly thin and too much water can ruin it. I applied a little bit of water at a time to reach the desired effect.

Brusho Bloom

As part of my preorder for the Occasions Catalog, I bought the Brusho Crystal Colour. I've been having fun playing around with them ever since! Today's card was the swap card for my demo group. I stamped the large flower image in black and then applied red and orange Brusho Crystal Colour. I then cut out the blooms. I don't have a decent picture, but I loved how each bloom looked different. From there, I added some DSP and embellishments to create this beautiful card.

Brusho Butterfly

Hand's down, my favorite item from the Occasions Catalog is the Brusho Crystal Colour! I have had so much fun playing with them this past month. For today's card, I used Versamark and white embossing powder to create my butterfly image. I then layered on green and blue Brusho Crystals until I was happy with the coverage. From there, I layered on some paper.

I liked the card, but something was missing a bit... Turns out I was missing sequins to really make this card pop!
