Turtle Birthday

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a kid's birthday card. Being a part of a parent group means that I always need kid birthday cards. I took a design I saw on Pinterest and modified it for a kid's birthday.

Currently...

Watching: We finally finished Atlantis. A bit disappointed with the ending. Clearly they did not know they were getting canceled. And not super happy with the love triangle set-up crap.

Reading: I finally got to rereading The Magician King by Lev Grossman. Happy to remember that this one moves a lot faster than the first book in the series.

Listening: I've got up with One Bad Mother, so it's back to listening to past episodes of Elise Gets Crafty.

Making: This week is Week in the Life for me. I'm mainly focused on taking pictures, but I have started laying out my album here and there...

Feeling: I overdid it this past weekend, Monday, and Tuesday. I'm paying for it now... So sore and tired.

Planning: Still working on our summer activities plan.

Loving: Park playdates have been great lately. Especially love the splash pads.

SSINKIC33: Pastel Ice Cream Cones

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the picture below as inspiration.

After glancing at the picture, I immediately knew that I would use the Celebrate Today stamp set. The set makes balloons, but I could turn those into ice cream cone shapes easily.  I set about adding some pattern stamps to the plain cardstock. Finally I added a nice sentiment. Lovely card for a new baby.

Stars in the Sky

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using a set of framelits. I have owned the Stars Framelits for months now, but never seem to pull them out to use. I really need to rectify that! I was wanting for the perfect card to use this particular piece of DSP. I love the constellations! So I decided to just add more stars to the card. Overall, the card is simple, but has so much visual interest.

  • Inks: Basic Black
  • Cardstock: Going Places DSP (retiring); Basic Black; Gold Foil

You're So Lovely

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using a retiring product. Often I feel like we overlook Stampin' Up's amazing kits. This are perfect for a great afternoon of crafting without all the time spent figuring out a design. I bought this kit for last month's stamp club. I love how versatile the kits can be. But hurry! All of the kits will be retiring at the end of May! Get yours today.

Happy Mother's Day

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a Mother's Day card. I went with a clean and simple design with one of my favorite combos: Perfect Plum and Crumb Cake. You can't tell from the picture, but the sentiment is actually heat embossed in white. In person it adds another great visual element to the card. I can't wait to send this card out!

  • Cardstock: Perfect Plum; Whisper White

Sweet Lil Bows

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using retiring products. I love Stampin' Up's Designer Series Paper, but hate that it gets retired every new catalog. But before it goes away, I wanted to highlight one of our great paper packs: Sweet Li'l Things. For this card, I used the paper in the obvious way as a basis for a baby card. The bows were created using the versatile envelope punch board. I mixed up the patterns to give the bows a bit more layer. The end result is super cute!

Bow Dimensions:

  • Bottom strip 4" x 1"
  • Bottom bow layer 3" x 1"
  • Bow loops 4 1/2" x 1"
  • Stamps: Happy Happening
  • Inks: Tangelo Twist
  • Cardstock: Sweet Li'l Things DSP; Crumb Cake; Very Vanilla
  • Accessories:
  • Tools: Envelope Punch Board
