A Parade of Dinos

unique fun Things to Do on New Year's Eve.png

It's officially May which means it's time to say goodbye to all the retiring stamp sets. In total, I'm losing 18 stamp sets from my collection (although a few of those will be kept because I love them so much). Many of these stamp sets are still available, but they are no longer guaranteed. If you want any of the sets features, buy now before they are gone!

Today's card duo is just too fun! I knew I had to have the No Bones About It stamp set when it premiered and it hasn't failed me yet. I love making fun Dino birthday cards with this set. For this duo, I played with layering dinosaurs on top of some fun DSP from Naturally Eclectic. While the skeletons on top of solid Dinos are a lot of fun, I really love the simplicity of the second card. The tiny party hat gets me every time!

Dino in the Jungle

Today’s card features one of my favorite stamps sets: No Bones About It. I initially bought this set for my son's dinosaur themed 2 year birthday party, but I've loved pulling it out time and time again to create something new. For this card I decided to feature three of the soon-to-be-retired In Colors: Mint Macaron, Delightful Dijon, and Cucumber Crush. I love the more masculine combination. I'm sure this card will be given to some little boy for his birthday. I took a piece of the Inside the Lines DSP and color in just a few of the pieces. I love the minimalist look! From there I added more DSP layers and a framed stamped Triceratops and sentiment. As a final touch, I stamped and hand cut a few leaves to add to my image.

Festive Dinosaur

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using your favorite animal stamp. Hands down my favorite animal stamp is the dinosaurs from No Bones About It. I love that I can layer the solid images and the skeletons. Such a cute visual! I decided to play with a simple color scheme of blue and orange with a yellow accent. I love the play of subtle patterns in the DSP. Because of the DSP, I kept my dinosaur image and sentiment simple.

SSINKTC36: Dinosaur Spotlight

Before we get to today's card, I'm sharing this great sneak peek video from the Holiday Catalog. Look for a new video everyday from now until September 1st!

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the technique below.

I knew I had to use the No Bones About it stamp set at my focal point. The solid color dinosaurs and skeletons are perfect for the spotlight technique! I stuck to a simple color scheme of blue and green and started playing with my dinosaur. After spotlighing the middle dino, I made sure to add a few embellishments. I'm especially in love with the new enamel shapes. Very versatile!

Hello Again Bones!

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using one of our favorite products. I bought No Bones About It last year in preparation for Arthur's dinosaur themed 2-year-old birthday party. I created so many fun projects with it. I put the stamp set away in November and it's sat in the cabinet ever since. So, last week I was looking for some different (no flowers or butterflies) and I remembered this great stamp set. It's fast becoming a favorite again!

Arthur's 2nd Birthday

This post is going to be a long one! Last week was Arthur's 2nd birthday party! Being the crafty person that I am, I couldn't buy store decor and cards. So I buckled down about a month ago, and started creating...

Favor Bags: I chose to go simple with white paper bags as a base. I stamped some dino footprints in random directions. From there I added a starburst tag in a variety of patterns. For the actual party, I put the kids' names on the bags and clothes pinned the tag to the bag.

Matching Games: I made 2x2 squares featuring stamped dinosaurs on one side and some patterned paper on the other. Each set includes 18 different pairs to match. I thought about adding leaves and such, but decided that the simple dinosaur silhouette in different colors looked just right. These are matching games for toddlers.

Cupcake Toppers: I used up my scrap paper from the favor tags to create these simple circle cupcake toppers. I stamped skeleton on each side completed the tag. These looked perfect in the cupcakes!

Thank You Cards: Simple, but cute! I made a variation of colors and patterns using some old patterned paper.

Dino-rrific Birthday!

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a a kids' birthday card. I just received the No Bones About It stamp set and couldn't wait to use it! Two of Arthur's toddler friends will be the recipients of these two cards.

For the first card, I decided on a boyish color palette featuring the triceratops stamp. I love the layering effect with the solid dino on bottom and the skeleton on top. Very cool look! Add a sentiment, some dirt, leaves, and party hats to fill out the space. I mounted the stamped piece onto a nice piece of polka dot DSP. Very cute little card!

For the variation, I repeated the layered stamping, but this time the skeleton was heat embossed. Notice that the skeleton isn't complete. I didn't see that the stamp picked up all the versamark until after I embossed it. My mistake! But I still really like the look of the partial skeleton.
