Photos of You

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a celebrations card.  I challenged myself to make a card using a ton of DSP and no stamping. And look what I did! I die cut some great DSP squares, fussy cut three cameras, and die cut the "celebrate you." After laying out my card, I went back and added a piece of coordinating ribbon to give more texture and layers. Love this festive card.

Week in the Life 2018

For this year's WITL, I documented my birthday week: March 5th - 11th. I bought another Simple Stories album to coordinate with last year's album (last year's was yellow, this year's is light blue). They are the perfect size (6x8) and the perfect price (around $10). For the insides, I tried to pull a lot from my stash. But I did buy Echo Park's Creative Agenda by Kaitlin Sheaffer scrapbook kit. I ending up using almost all of the stickers and at least half of the paper for this album. I'm still debating about adding a title page, but at least I have the meat of the project finished.

Quick and Easy Layers

Today’s card is being featured at my DSP Part 2 class featured in later March and April. (See the Crafty Events on the homepage for full details.) I added multiple pieces of DSP to create a fun layered look.  A simple card, but very striking! For class, participants get to create this card with their choice of DSP combos.

Brusho Triptych

Today’s card is being featured at my Coloring Class in late March and April. (Check out the Crafty Events on the homepage for full details.) I love playing with Brusho and knew I had to create this awesome Brusho triptych card after seeing a similar one on Pinterest. (Unfortunately the image had a dead link attached otherwise I would link to it.) I simply sprinkled on blue, red, and yellow Brusho Crystals to pieces of Petal Passion DSP, spritzed with water, added more crystals, spritzed, and finally let dry. When using Stampin' Up!'s DSP paper with Brusho, be careful! The paper is fairly thin and too much water can ruin it. I applied a little bit of water at a time to reach the desired effect.

Happy Easter

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create an Easter card. The Flying Home stamp set is the perfect choice to create a festive card. I stamped and colored this great floral and bird house image using my Stampin' Blends. I simply colored the image, no modifications made. From there, I layered the piece onto a die cut piece of Calypso Coral and added a simple sentiment. As I don't have a "Happy Easter" stamp, I used the labeler alphabet to create one. For the background, I embossed a piece of Color Theory DSP. I love the ombre effect in the background. For a finishing touch, I added some yellow Glitter Enamel Shapes.

Sunday Haul #4

I stopped into Michael's for some snail and white paper, and of course, I had to grab some other items. This time, I bought some treat bags for Bingo supplies, a Happy Planner meal plan insert, some clearance silver washi tape, and the Mom pack of stickers. I also grabbed some Easter basket fillers for the boys (not pictured).

My Planner Addict 3rd Anniversary box came. Look at all the cute goodies!

Layered Birthday

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a spring card. I always think flowers when I thinks spring. Pulling out my oldie but a goodie Flower Shop stamp set was the perfect choice. I stamped and punched some flowers, layering on top of an oval sentiment. From there I added a frame of embossed cardstock to complete the look.

30 Days of Lists: Days 11-21

I've really enjoyed participating in 30 Days of Lists on and off for the past few years. For 2018, the creators offered a season pass getting me all three months of lists (March, September, and December) for a bit of a discount. I jumped at the chance and sign-up. For March's lists, I decided to use the 6x8 PL page protectors, the Dear Lizzy Polka Dot Party mini kit, and various stickers and embellishments. My plan is to use the same 6x8 album (a Snap Simple Stories album) to house all three months of 30 Days of Lists, my Week in the Life pages (documenting this week), and possibly December Daily. Check out my days #1-10 here. Now are my Days #11-21:

Hello Peacock!

Today's card was featured at February stamp club, but I forgot to post it here. Silly me! This Beautiful Peacock stamp set is a Level 1 SAB item, meaning you can still get it for free with a $50 or more order through March 31st. For my card, I stamped the peacock, tail, and little floral bits to fill up my piece of Very Vanilla. After adding on some DSP, a sentiment, and a few layering pieces, I focused on one last flourish. I created a Calypso Coral "tail" by unraveling a piece of Shimmer ribbon to the desired length. I used a small piece of Bermuda Bay ribbon to tie my unraveled piece off and attached to the peacock.

Reading: The Philosopher's Flight by Tom Miller. It was my BOTM selection from February. An interesting mix of historical fiction and steampunk. Enjoying it so far.

Watching: Another Period is back and it's amazing. The show is so stupid, but I love it.

Listening: Loving the new singles from CHVRCHES. Can't wait for the new album to be released.

Making: I've printed the pictures for the Week in the Life album, now I need to put it all together. I've gotten Monday finished so that only leaves me with 6 more days...

Feeling: Getting away for a few hours yesterday really helped me recharge.

Planning: I made our Spring Bucket list yesterday. Now to plan out some activities and get doing!

Loving: The ability to put books on hold and grab them from the shelf is amazing... Half my reads for April are currently on hold.
