Emerald and Berry Eclectic

Today's card challenge was to make a card using a borrowed stamp set. The trick was that I only had an hour to borrow and create something! This Oh So Eclectic Bundle was on my short list, but I chose to buy the Bike Ride Bundle and Coffee Cafe Bundles first. Thankfully my friend Sara bought this one and let me borrow during a crafting day. I quickly decided on a green and purple color scheme and pulled papers and inks to match. From there I stamped my images and die cut each one. I also dded more texture by die cutting the piece of DSP. I love this little cut out design! After layering my pieces, I added a piece of coordinating ribbon to complete my card.

  • Stamps: Oh So Eclectic
  • Inks: Lemon Lime Twist; Emerald Envy; Berry Burst; Fresh Fig
  • Cardstock: Naturally Eclectic DSP; Emerald Envy; Berry Burst; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Berry Burst Ribbon

Hexagon Throwback

Another card featuring some great retired products. I know it retired a few years ago, but I can't seem to sell my Hexagon Punch. It's just so versatile. I can punch full hexagons, partial hexagons, or banner ends. I love using it so much! For this card, I punched a ton of hexagons from various pieces of retired DSP scraps. It's hard to see, but the floral piece at the bottom features copper foil, so it's awesomely shiny in person. Such a simple design, but this card is a great way to use up your paper scraps.

  • Stamps: Cool Treats
  • Inks: Watermelon Wonder
  • Cardstock: Affectionately Yours DSP (retired); Brights Collection DSP (retired); 2015-2017 In Color DSP (retired); Whisper White; Random scraps

From the Sky

A fun card today featuring some more retired paper and a current embossing folder and sentiment. I still have some leftover Carried Away DSP (how? I know, it's a mystery to me) and decided to create a fun layered card with one of the pieces. I didn't have enough for a full card base, but I did have enough to create a partial card base. To add something to the card, I embossed the layer piece of Peekaboo Peach with the current Oh My Stars Embossing Folder. Before embossing, I added a strip of random watercolor-esque washi tape I had in my stash. If gives just enough to create a finished effect. Love this card!

Peekaboo Hello

Today's card was an attempt to use more of my retired DSP. I still had a few pieces of the beautiful Affectionately Yours DSP laying around in my scrap box. One piece was big enough to create this great peekaboo card for today. I kept my sentiment simple to keep the focus on the paper. As a last touch, I added a candy dot to the fold.

  • Cardstock: Affectionately Yours DSP (retired); Night of Navy; Whisper White

Sunday Haul #9

I took advantage of the Michael's sale this week featuring a free Deluxe cover with every Happy Planner purchase. I couldn't resist... I ordered a 18 month 2017-2018 Classic Planner with accompanying black deluxe planner for next year. I also got a mini planner and mint cover for business planning. Finally I grabbed the Productivity Sticker Book for half price. I can't wait to dive into these!

Simple Washi Tape Card

A duo of fun and simple washi tape cards. I have an entire bin of washi tape just sitting in my cabinets. I decided I really need to use them more. So I pulled out some fun retired Stampin' Up! washi tape to create these two different cards. First I hand drew a fun little border on my white cardstock. Then I adhered some washi tape strips. From there, I added a nice sentiment (seriously love the Better Together Stamp Set for great bigger sentiments). To finish, I added some sequins. Simple, yet great cards!

  • Stamps: Better Together; Four You (retired)
  • Inks: Basic Black; Melon Mambo
  • Cardstock: Melon Mambo; Smoky Slate; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Gold Sequins Trim; Silver Sequin Trim; Variety of Stampin' Up! washi tape (retired)
  • Tools: Black Marker

Currently

Reading: Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. Our book club selection for July. I'm almost finished with the book and I started the TV series. Hoping to finish the TV series by Sunday to discuss at club.

Watching: Still watching The Bachelorette! We're down to the last three.

Listening: Attempting to catch up with some backlogged podcasts. This week I'm tackling the forty odd back episodes of What Should I Read Next? I love hearing book discussions and getting some suggestions for my own TBR pile.

Making: I'm starting to plan my fall Stampin' Up Bingo Party (RSVP by August 19th the event on Sept. 2nd). I love creating a secret Pinterest board to gather my ideas. I also created a board for the boys' 1st and 4th joined birthday party. We're doing a pirate theme this year.

Feeling:  So so tired... The baby has been waking up really early in the morning and I'm so not on board with this.

Planning: The twins will be going back to Indiana in less than two weeks. In the meantime, we have a few more activities to occupy our days. But I need to be thinking of what they need for school. We have most of the wardrobe taken care of, just need a few pieces. We need to focus on school supplies.

Loving: I've made Smitten Kitchen's Strawberry Summer Cake (#teamcake for OBM!). The other day I wanted to make it, but our strawberries were already moldy. Thank goodness we had a few plums laying around. I made it with plums and the cake was just as good. Yum yum!
