Minty Cup

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using one of my current favorite products. I borrowed A Nice Cuppa from a friend and have went a bit crazy making cards from it. I added my one of my favorite color combos: Mint Macaron and Wisteria Wonder. From there, I layered a few pieces of DSP, embossing a portion of the card base, and added a strip of glitter tape. I love how clean and simple this card looks while still have layers and visual interest.

Layered Sunburst

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using candy dots. Candy dots are hands down my favorite Stampin' Up embellishment. I use them all the time. For this card, I focused on creating a multiple layered card featuring dots. I could then add on candy dots in coordinating colors to finish off the effect. In fact, I loved this card so much that I choose it as one of the March stamp club cards.

  • Stamps: Sunburst Sayings
  • Inks: Pacific Point
  • Cardstock: Schoolhouse DSP; Pool Party; Daffodil Delight
  • Accessories: Candy Dots
  • Tools: Sunburst Thinlit; Circle Punch; Scallop Punch; Decorative Dots Embossing Folder

Blooms and Blushing Bride

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using on our current favorite products. My current favorite is the Birthday Blooms Stamp Set. I love the images, but even more I love the ability to color the images to fit my card! For this card, I repeatedly stamped the large flower image. Then I raided my markers box for some pretty spring colors. I stamped a sentiment onto an oval piece. But still something was missing... A bit of Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper was the perfect embellishment!

  • Stamps: Birthday Blooms
  • Inks: Blushing Bride; Rose Red; Perfect Plum; Mint Macaron; Lost Lagoon; Old Olive; Pear Pizzaz; Hello Honey; Basic Black
  • Cardstock: Rose Red; Blushing Bride; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper

Quick and Easy Card

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a quick and easy card. What better way to make a quick and easy card than use one of Stampin' Up's great kits? I bought the Tin of Cards Kits from the main catalog. The tin itself was a gift for my grandmother, but that left the card contents. I took the card pieces and whipped up this easy birthday card. All I added was a sentiment from the Happy Happenings stamp set. Quick and easy! I even made four of them to have on hand for upcoming birthdays.

A variation from the kit.

  • Inks: Calypso Coral
  • Cardstock: Tin of Cards Kit

A Watercolor Birthday

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a birthday card. I decided to make a masculine birthday card featuring my new favorite technique (watercolor emboss resist) and my new stamp set (Botanicals For You SAB).  Watercolor emboss resist is a great new to me technique to create some great backgrounds. Simply stamp your image in Versamark and emboss with white embossing powder. Add a wash of water over the entire watercolor piece. Then drip ink onto the paper. The already wet paper will allow the ink to spread on its own. After it dried a bit, I added some more ink here and there to fill out most of the paper. To finish, take a paper towel and wipe off the excess ink. The ink should just wipe right off of the embossed section. Love this effect!

  • Stamps: Botanicals for You
  • Inks: Bermuda Bay; Pear Pizzaz; Versamark
  • Cardstock: 2015-2017 In Color DSP (Cucumber Crush); Bermuda Bay; Whisper White; Watercolor Paper
  • Accessories: White Embossing Powder
  • Tools: Washi Label Punch; Aqua Painter; Heat Gun

A Wildly Patterned Birthday

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a birthday card. I bought the Botanical Gardens suite and dove right in playing with color and pattern. I love this background DSP, but feel like it is a very busy. Whatever is layered with it needs to temper the pattern a bit. I layered some cardstock and looked around my stash for some accessories. Enter elements from the Tin of Cards Kit. I had bought the kit for my grandmother, but ended up using just the tin. That left me with all the card pieces. I layered a few pieces and completed this birthday card!

A bit of detail...

  • Stamps:
  • Inks: Old Olive
  • Cardstock: Botanical Gardens DSP; Cajun Craze; Crushed Curry; Polka Dot Overlay (Tin of Cards Kit); Happy Birthday (Tin of Cards Kit); Strip of Gold (Tin of Cards Kit)
  • Accessories: Regal Candy Dots

Kissed Flowers

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the kissing technique. Have you ever tired the kissing technique before? It's so simple and really makes stamps more versatile. Take a more solid stamp, ink it up,  "kiss" it to a pattern stamp, and stamp your piece of cardstock. The I Think You're Great stamp set has two great patterned stamps to choose from.

I kissed my flower stamps to the flower patterned stamp from I Think You're Great. From there I built an all purple card. Can you tell that purple is my favorite color? I used four of the five purple hues from Stampin' Up. I just didn't get around to incorporating Blackberry Bliss.  After stampin the flowers, I added a die cut and stamped sentiment and my favorite embellishments: candy dots.

  • Stamps: Crazy About You; I Think You're Great
  • Inks: Wisteria Wonder; Perfect Plum; Rich Razzleberry; Elegant Eggplant
  • Cardstock: Wisteria Wonder; Perfect Plum
  • Accessories: Candy Dots
  • Tools: Flower Medallion Punch; Hello You Thinlits

Dino-rrific Birthday!

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a a kids' birthday card. I just received the No Bones About It stamp set and couldn't wait to use it! Two of Arthur's toddler friends will be the recipients of these two cards.

For the first card, I decided on a boyish color palette featuring the triceratops stamp. I love the layering effect with the solid dino on bottom and the skeleton on top. Very cool look! Add a sentiment, some dirt, leaves, and party hats to fill out the space. I mounted the stamped piece onto a nice piece of polka dot DSP. Very cute little card!

For the variation, I repeated the layered stamping, but this time the skeleton was heat embossed. Notice that the skeleton isn't complete. I didn't see that the stamp picked up all the versamark until after I embossed it. My mistake! But I still really like the look of the partial skeleton.

  • Stamps: No Bones About It
  • Inks: Tip Top Taupe; Bermuda Bay; Watermelon Wonder; Cucumber Crush; Wild Wasabi; Island Indigo; Daffodil Delight
  • Cardstock: 2015-2017 In Colors DSP; Bermuda Bay; Island Indigo; Whisper White
  • Accessories:
  • Tools: Versamark; Pearl Embossing Powder; Heat gun
