Another three songs from my giant iPod shuffle...
Arctic Monkeys "Brainstorm"
Sarah Brightman "Scarborough Fair"
Florence + the Machine "Only If for a Night"
Music Monday - Fall Out Boy "Centuries"
Currently seriously obsessed with this song...
Music Monday - Lorde "Yellow Flicker Beat"
Oh... this one is really good. I can't wait to get the new soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Mockinjay Park 1.
Music Monday - The Avett Brothers "Ballad of Love and Hate"
Every time this song pops up on my shuffle, I can't help but stop and sing along. Love it! And the live version is definitely always the right choice.
Music Monday - iPod Shuffle
Three random songs from my iPod. Eclectic selections as usual...
Fall Out Boy "Just One Yesterday"
Jason Mraz "Unfold"
Simon and Garfunkel "Mrs. Robinson"
Music Monday - Amy Winehouse "Back to Black"
Arthur loves Amy Winehouse. Really he likes her almost as much as Nina Simone. Because of this, Amy Winehouse has been on pretty heavy rotation in our house. My favorite: Back to Black.
Music Monday - New Music
Three songs that I have really enjoyed lately...
Ella Henderson "Ghost"
Echosmith "Cool Kids"
First Aid Kit "My Silver Lining"
Music Monday - Andrew McMahon "Cecilia and the Satellite"
I adore Andrew McMahon. While, I'm sad that Jack's Mannequin is no more, I'm looking forward to his new material. This song has been in my head for weeks now...
Music Monday -- Panic at the Disco "Bohemian Rhapsody"
Another Monday and another cover. This is becoming a bit of a trend. But I had to share this one with everyone. Panic at the Disco does an amazing cover of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" that just has to be watched!
Music Monday -- iPod Shuffle
A pretty eclectic mix this month...
John Mayer "Neon"
Flogging Molly "Screaming at the Wailing Wall"
Third Eye Blind "Jumper"
Music Monday -- Maroon 5 feat. Gwen Stefani "My Heart is Open"
Just stumbled upon this song over the weekend. Really loving these two voices together. And can't wait until the new season of The Voice.
Music Monday -- Taylor Christine "Fingers Crossed"
A daughter of a friend of ours just recorded her first EP. This lovely song is the title track. If you like it, jump on over to iTunes and buy it!
Music Monday -- Tori Amos "Creep"
I don't usually highlight covers for my Music Monday posts. However, this one is so amazing, I had to highlight it. I adore her voice, and it fits completely into this song.
Music Monday -- iPod Shuffle August
1. The Killers "From Here on Out"
2. Mumford & Sons "Below My Feet"
3. Jack White "Blunderbuss"
Music Monday -- La Roux "Let Me Down Gently"
There's something about La Roux that just speaks to me. I'm really digging this song lately.
Lyrics:
Let me down gently
That's what I think I need
But when you let me down gently
It still feels it hard, hard
Turn me into someone good
That’s what I really need
Tel me that I’m someone good
So we’re not so far apart, apart
I hope it doesn't seem like I’m young, foolish and green
Let me in for a minute
You're not my life but I want you in it
Set me up I’m slowly
That’s what you do to me
Oh you set me up slowly
Now I can’t come down, down
Let me down gently
That's what I think you need
But when I let you down gently
And you try to hide your frowns, frowns
I hope it doesn't seem like I’m young, foolish and green
Let me in for a minute
You're not my life but I want you in it
And I hope it's sinking
Left behind your perfect skin
There’s a part of you that’s free
And I know there’s a place for me
Let me down gently
That's what I think I need
But when you let me down gently
It still feels it hard, hard
Turn me into someone good
That’s what I really need
Tel me that I’m someone good
So we’re not so far apart, apart
I hope it doesn't seem like I’m young and foolish and green
Let me in for a minute
You're not my life but I want you in it
And I hope it's sinking
Left behind your perfect skin
There’s a part of you that’s free
And I know there’s a place for me
Music Monday -- Plumb "Crazy"
A throwback song today from 1997. I saw Plumb open for Jars of Clay and immediately fell in love with them. This was my favorite song by them for the longest time.
Lyrics:
I know that you're on the inside
You know that I'm looking out
For me
You're sitting pretty
As I wallow in self-pity
And there's no coming back for me
[Chorus:]
You're crazy for thinking I'm above this
You're crazy for believing I don't care
You're crazy for thinking I'm below you
You're crazy, you're crazy
My ambition and every intention
Is to go where I shouldn't go
Pleasing to my eyes
Through a wretched reply
It's soothing to my soul.
Music Monday -- Billie Joe Armstrong and Norah Jones "Kentucky"
Initially this collaboration just sounds odd, but strangely it works amazingly well. I love the difference in their voices.
Lyrics:
Kentucky
You are the dearest land outside of Heaven to me
Kentucky
I miss your laurel and your redbud trees
When I die,
I want to rest upon a graceful mountain so high
For that is
Where God will look for me
Kentucky
I miss the old folks singing in the silvery moonlight
Kentucky
I miss the hound dogs chasin’ coons
I know that
My mother, dad and sweetheart are waiting for me
Kentucky
I will be coming soon
Kentucky
Music Monday -- iPod Shuffle May
1. Paramore "Grow Up"
2. Justin Timberlake "SexyBack"
3. Arctic Monkeys "Brick by Brick"
Music Monday -- Lindsey Stirling feat. Lzzy Hale "Shatter Me"
