Stitch Fix 5

I came across Stitch Fix on Loop Looks (check her out!).  For $20 a shipment, you get a personalized style pack of five items.  Then, you try everything on and decide to keep 1, 2, 3, 4, or all 5 items.  The $20 stylist fee is credited to your purchase.  And if you buy all five items, you get an extra 25% off.  The company is currently in beta, but I was lucky enough to get an invite.

After many many months away, I decided to try the service again.  I had wanted to lost all of the baby weight before attempting, but that doesn't seem to be happening quite yet.  Instead, I redid my measurements on my profile and mentioned to the stylist that I was no a SAHM that need versatile but casual pieces.  Overall, I was excited to jump into another box even if two of the items were a disaster.

Here’s what I got this time… (Ignore the horrid quality iPhone photos)

Item #1: Roxanna Chevron Open Knit Cardigan

Pros: Love the pattern; lightweight yet covering

Cons: Limited use in California.

Item #2: Kahlo Embroidered Racerback Tank

Pros: Light and airy; perfect for summer in California; love the patterns

Cons: A bit short in the front; highlighted my stomach (problem area!)

Item #3: Wedni Belted Geo Print Dress

Pros: Hid my trouble areas well; actually long enough on me but still a shorter dress; love the print; easy to care for.

Cons: A bit pricey for my usual shopping budget

Item #4: Ravello Arrow Print Cross-Front Blouse

Pros: Cute print

Cons: Everything else.  I put this on okay but when I looked in the mirror... the horror!  The front of this blouse has a snap closure and that snap was about to burst.  Turns out I have too large of a bust for this shirt.  Go figure... I've never had too large of a bust for any shirt.  Sorry but I can't subject my readers to the horrid picture of my wearing this.  You'll have to do with the insert card.

Item #5: Cathleen Dot Print Lace Detailed Blouse

IMG_7587

Pros: Love the color

Cons: Everything else.  Another shirt gone horribly wrong.  This thing was too short (hello stomach), too tight across (turns out I have wide shoulders?), and too tight in the armholes (guess I have fatty arms now).  I could barely get this off without ripping it.  No picture for you.

So, what did I keep?

Item #3: Wedni Belted Geo Print Dress.  While my body isn't back to where I want it to be, the cut of this dress hides my flaws well.  Plus, I can still wear it when I lose a bit of weight.  I'm think this will be going to both weddings later this fall.  (Not for the ceremony, but for the pre-wedding activities).  Best of all, this thing is easily washed and if the babe decided to spits up, I can hide the stain until I can get it cleaned.  Nice!

Stitch Fix Number 4

I came across Stitch Fix on Loop Looks (check her out!).  For $20 a shipment, you get a personalized style pack of five items.  Then, you try everything on and decide to keep 1, 2, 3, 4, or all 5 items.  The $20 stylist fee is credited to your purchase.  And if you buy all five items, you get an extra 25% off.  The company is currently in beta, but I was lucky enough to get an invite.

My last Stitch Fix didn't go so well.  I didn't like anything and sent the entire box back.  I decided to try again after my health debacles.  I had butterflies in my stomach in anticipation of what goodies I would find after opening. And I wasn't disappointed.

Here's what I got this time... (Ignore the horrid quality iPhone photos)

Item #1: Striped scarf

Pros: So soft!  Beautiful design.

Cons: I live in California (and not the cold part).  If I bought this, I would have limited chances to wear it.

Item #2: Navy pintuck blouse

Pros: Loved the fit.  Loved the color.  Easy to dress up or dress down.

Cons: Just a bit short.

Item #3: Purple silk blouse

Pros: The color!!!!  Beautiful color for a shirt.

Cons: Silk is hard to care for.  Overall it's a bit short.

Item #4: Cream tank top

Pros: Nothing, hated it.

Cons: Short, tight in weird places, don't like the look.

Item #5: Cream ruched cardigan

Pros: Very soft.  Very comfortable.  Easy to layer for cooler nights and warmer days.

Cons: The side ruching is a bit weird (but I could get used to this).  The price is a bit much.

So, what did I keep?

Item #2 Navy pintuck blouse.  I figure that I can add this into multiple outfits.  And the cut is very flattering.  Ignore the bad picture, it is beautiful.

Stitch Fix Tres

I came across Stitch Fix on Loop Looks (check her out!).  For $20 a shipment, you get a personalized style pack of five items.  Then, you try everything on and decided to keep 1, 2, 3, 4, or all 5 items.  The $20 stylist fee is credited to your purchase.  And if you buy all five items, you get an extra 25% off.  The company is currently in beta, but I was lucky enough to get an invite.

Here's what I got this time...

Item #1: Silver loop earrings

Pros: Gorgeous. Just my style.

Cons: I don't have pierced ears...

Item #2: Pink smock top

Pros: Love the design and color.

Cons: Short short short.  I really think you need to have a torso 3 inches shorter to wear this.

Item #3: Three collar blouse

Pros: Loved the design and the material.

Cons: Another ridiculously short shirt.

Item #4: Crochet back dress

Pros: Pretty

Cons: Couldn't get it over my head.  Ridiculously small

Item #5: Cropped beige blazer

Pros: Loved the design.  Could be a versatile piece.

Cons: My shoulders are much too wide to fit in it.

So, what did I keep?

Nothing...  I don't know if it's just the pregnancy, but nothing looked good on me.  So, this was my last stitch fix until after baby comes.

Stitch Fix Time

I came across Stitch Fix on Loop Looks (check her out!).  For $20 a shipment, you get a personalized style pack of five items.  Then, you try everything on and decided to keep 1, 2, 3, 4, or all 5 items.  The $20 stylist fee is credited to your purchase.  And if you buy all five items, you get an extra 25% off.  The company is currently in beta, but I was lucky enough to get an invite.

Here's what I got this time...

Item #1: Silver small square necklace

Pros: Very cute.  Definitely my style.

Cons: A bit expensive.  I also have a ton of necklaces.

Item #2: Deep v-neck cinched waist tank

Pros: Very cute.

Cons: Makes me look a bit pregnant.  Better pants could probably help.  Deep v requires a tank underneath.

Item #3: Flared back tank

Pros: Pretty color. Interesting back.

Cons: Odd fit.  Interesting back (don't know if it's my style)

Item #4: Bright racerback tank

Pros:  Great summer colors.  Can dress up or down.

Cons: Pic makes me look a bit pregnant.  I need to wear different pants with this shirt. These jeans are really low riding.  Ignore the bad lighting...

Item #5: Hi-lo Tank

Pros: Fun light fabric.

Cons: Short in the front.  A bit tight around the arms.

So, what did I keep?

My First Stitch Fix!

My initial thought was that all the items were very cute and my style.  Here's what I got (excuse the slightly crappy pics):

Item #1: Silver wire necklace.

Pros: Just my style.  Adorable.  Fairly reasonable price.

Cons: I have a ton of silver necklaces.  A little more than I usually pay for jewelry, even with the $20 fee.

Item #2: Tube dress

Pros: Pretty print.

Cons: Everything else.  Horrible fit.  Highlights all my bad areas.  Makes me look stumpy.  I am not a fan of strapless dresses.

Item #3: Cap sleeve henley silk top

Pros: Great color.  Actually fits.  Very nice fabric.

Cons: Cap sleeves? I don't know about those.

Item #4: Grey tank

Pros: Gorgeous back detail (ignore the white tank). Lovely fabric.

Cons: Very tight through the bust area.

Item #5: Keyhole printed tank

Pros: Love the keyhole detail and neckline.  Fun print.  Light fabric for summer.

Cons: Most expensive of the tops.

So, what did I keep?

Item #5: Printed keyhole tank.  It fits great, it's versatile, and I love the style.  I will definitely schedule another Stitch Fix soon.
