April Memory Planner Pages

While including lots of pictures (of course!), I tried to write more stories. I even played around with the columns to fit in stories and pictures I wanted. The best example of this is the last weekend of the month when I had SU bingo during the day and a big live show at night on Saturday. This was the month that I decided color schemes didn't really matter and I started decorated with what called to me.

A Tranquil Father's Day

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card for Father's Day. I don't like traditional Father's Day cards, but I thought the Paisleys and Posies Stamp Set with the right colors would be perfect. Tranquil Tide is the perfect color for a more masculine card. Pairing it with Basic Gray makes it look more green than blue. After stamping a random pattern, I added a ayer of Basic Gray and an embossed piece of Tranquil Tide. I love repeating layers on my cards. I chose a simple sentiment and embellished it with a silver doily.

  • Stamps: Paisleys and Posies; Better Together
  • Inks: Tranquil Tide
  • Cardstock: Tranquil Tide; Basic Gray; Whisper White
  • Accessories: Metallic Doilies
  • Tools: Oh My Stars Emboss; Lots of Labels Framelits

Currently

Watching: J and I started watching Supernatural. While it was originally airing, I made it to Season 4 or 5 before life interceded. J has never watched it. We've been meaning to start from the beginning and finally decided to do it.

Reading: Finally got our June book club selection, Born a Crime by Trevor Noah. I just started, but so far it is intriguing.

Listening: So many podcasts! I binged the last 10 episodes of The Simple Show. I also caught up with Here to Make Friends (about The Bachelorette) and One Bad Mother. And I started catching up on What Should I Read Next even though I am like 6 months behind.

Making: Working on catching up with Memory Planner pages and Project Life spreads. I a bit behind on each of those projects, but I should have some time to tackle them this month.

Feeling: The twins arrived last Wednesday. All that prep and now we are in a bit of calm.

Planning: We need to do a big grocery visit soon including trips to Costco, Target, Sprouts, and Safeway. This takes some planning on my part...

Loving: While it's nice to have good chats with the twins, my favorite moments are when we are hanging out together being quiet.

SSINKCS46: Abstract Crackle

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the card sketch below:

I decided to feature the new Color Theory DSP stack. I love this crackle look paper so I made it the focus. I simply picked two complimentary colors and repeated them throughout the simple card. The card gave me a chance to use my new Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set and Duet Banner Punch.

  • Stamps: Thoughtful Banners
  • Inks: Crushed Curry; Dapper Denim
  • Cardstock: Color Theory DSP; Dapper Denim; Crushed Curry; Whisper White

A Burst of Berry!

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using our favorite 2017-2019 In Color. Hands down my favorite new In Color is Berry Burst! I love love love this gorgeous pink-purple color. To highlight this awesome color, I made a monochromatic card. The new Color Theory DSP has these gorgeous ombre sheets that really set off the stamped sentiment, ribbon, and butterflies. It's hard to tell in the first photo, but I Wink of Stella-ed the cut out butterfly.

Detail of the shimmery butterfly:

A Simple Flower

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a quick and easy card. My idea of quick and easy is something can be completed in less than 15 minutes. This card, while it may look complicated, only took 10 minutes to complete. The longest bit was fussy cutting my flower. I really love this simple card!

  • Stamps: Feathery Friends
  • Inks: Basic Black; Tranquil Tide; Lemon Lime Twist; Berry Burst; Daffodil Delight
  • Cardstock: Berry Burst; Daffodil Delight; Whisper White

Top 10 New Catalog Products!

With the launch of each new catalog, I sit down with a cup of tea and a highlighter and go to town marking everything I want. Of course, I don't have the money to buy everything I mark, but I love making that big wishlist. To help myself out, I usually make a short list of things I really really really want. These are the products I'm most likely to buy in June, July, and August. To help you out, I'm sharing my top 10 favorite new products!

1. Coffee Cafe Bundle (145331 $45.75) -- This entire suite of products is so me! I will definitely be buying the bundle with stamp set and die cuts very very soon! Of course, I will be adding on the DSP and probably some coordinating ribbon to complete my purchase.

2. Message in a Bottle Stamp Set (143707 $17.00) -- How cute is this stamp set? I'm working on convincing my 3 1/2 year old son to have a pirate theme party in September. This stamp set will be perfect for decorations, favors, and thank you cards.

3. 1/4" Copper Trim (144179 $6.00) -- I'm in love with all things copper and this ribbon is just gorgeous!

4. Just Add Text Stamp Set (Wood 143931 $25.00  Clear 143934 $18.00) -- I'm a sucker for good sentiments and these are just perfect!

5. Just Add Color DSP (144180 $13.00) -- I love the current coloring trend and this paper would be perfect with the SU Markers and a great sentiment. One from the Just Add Text Stamp Set perhaps?

6. Soft Sayings Card Kit (145466 $35.00) -- Card kits are the way to go for gifts or for an easy night crafting. And SU offers a few all-inclusive kits meaning the stamp set is included! I'm really digging the colors and designs of this particular kit.

7. Sharing Sweet Thoughts Stamp Set (Wood 144048 $29.00  Clear 144051 $21.00) -- Each year SU offers a stamp set in which a portion of the sales go to Ronald McDonald House Charity. It's a great cause to support and the sets are always great. But this year's stamp set is just my style! Plus it coordinates with the Everyday Jars Die Cuts.

8. Pick a Pattern DSP (144163 $11.00) -- Full disclosure, I already bought this paper! But I love it so much, I'll be buying another pack. I love the mix of patterns and colors. So cute!

9. 2017-2019 In Color Bitty Bows (144217 $8.50) -- I always love seeing what new accessories SU designs and these bows are just way too cute! I'll be featuring these in one of the June Stamp Club projects.

10. 3/8" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon (Night of Navy 144189  Peekaboo Peach  144192  Berry Burst 144191  Emerald Envy 144190  $8.00) -- I'm not one to buy a ton of ribbon, but this particular kind is too pretty to pass up. As I've already bought a spool of different Berry Burst ribbon, I'll probably get this in Night of Navy.

Now that you've seen all the great new products in the catalog, what is on your Top 10 list?

Pick a Pattern of Flowers

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using one of the new product suites. For preorder, I had to have the Pieces and Patterns Stamp Set, Pick a Pattern DSP, and matching Crushed Curry Ribbon. This card is a fun take on pattern play that so trendy right now! A simple design of strips of DSP over a stamped background. I finished off the card with a great sentiment and fun ribbon.

June Crafting Goals

  • May's Memory Planner Pages -- I still need to print a few pics so I can get started on this month's pages.
  • Project life! -- Ugh. I seriously need to get catch up.
  • Schedule classes and events for June and July -- I've got some ideas for classes, just need to get them on the calendar.
  • Finish blog fix -- I've still got over a year to fix, but I really want to get this stuff finished.

A recap of last month’s goals:

  • April's Memory Planner pages -- Success! I'm still loving this side project.
  • Finish May SSINK cards and leftover retiring cards -- Success!
  • Clean out retiring card kits -- Success! I put away kits featuring stamp sets I don't own anymore and updated the rest.
  • May Newsletter -- Fail! Big fat fail on this one.
  • Finally catch up on the family Project Life album -- Another big fail. I didn't even do one page this month...
