Project Life March 2015 Part 1

March -- 1st half (California)

The first page consists of mainly pics from Preschool. I'm going with a bright and colorful color scheme for March. I added some embellishments and labels and even some washi tape to finish off the page.

Pages 2-3 chronicled our trip to CuriOdyssey. When we visit someplace new I always take a ton of pictures. If we go again, I'm sure I'll take less pictures. I didn't add any embellishments to the pictures. Every few pages I like to go with a clean look.

CDM time! I love catching cute pics of the kids at the museum. This time it was all about the special exhibit on Vietnam. I especially love the pic of Arthur and friend W playing the dice game.

Right before we flew to Indiana, Arthur and I attended a surprise baby shower for two of our friends. It was a nice Saturday morning in the park with friends.

Supplies:

  • Echo Park Through the Year
  • SNAP Life Documented

Desktop Thursday #4

The sad state of my craft room today. Returning home on Tuesday, I had multiple packages and a suitcase full of craft stuff. Everything just got piled up on the counter. Now I have to clean this before I can begin crafting again...

Patterned Wedding Card

I had to make a wedding card for my friend but was stumped as to what to do. I wanted to incorporate her favorite color: purple. I ended up using one of my newer stamp sets: Your Perfect Day. I added some nice Something Borrowed for a neutral palette. But my favorite part is the stamped garlands. I love photopolymer stamps. They make stamp layering so easy. I love the colors and design.

  • Stamps: Your Perfect Day
  • Inks: Chocolate Chip; Perfect Plum; Wild Wasabi
  • Cardstock: Perfect Plum; Whisper White; Something Borrowed DSP
  • Accessories: Lavender ribbon

Currently...

Watching: Gotham. Mom's got me a bit hooked right now. Really loving the character that's going to to become The Riddler.

Reading: All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr for book club. Enjoying it, but think we've gotten into a bit of a WWII rut.

Listening: My mother's crazy neighbors play very loud music late at night. They have two small children in the house. It's ridiculous.

Making: Finishing up my friend Sarah's wedding scrapbook. Almost done and going to drop it off at her house today. It turned out really well.

Feeling: I'm excited to be going home on Tuesday. Arthur and I can't wait.

Planning: Getting everything ready to head home...

Loving: I'm going home soon... Woohoo!

I'm on Spring Break!

With everything going on this week (hello friend's wedding!), I am a bit overwhelmed. So I am taking the week off from the blog. I'll be back next Monday with some crafts and the usual news posts.

April 2015 Crafting Goals

A recap of last month’s goals:

  • February PL Pages —Success! I finished these pages before leaving for Indiana.
  • Preschool crafts for March 12th – Success! And they were wonderful.
  • Prep Sarah’s wedding crafts before March 17th — Success! I got all my supplies around and in my suitcase to travel. As soon as I arrived, I got all my supplies out and finished the favors ahead of time.
  • Have a clean craft area before I leave – Success! I finished cleaning my craft area with days to spare. The main culprit was a huge stack of random paper scraps. I got them all sorted out and put away.

This month’s goals:

  • Finish my March PL pages -- I have to wait until I get back in mid April to do these pages, but want to do a bit of prep before I go back home.
  • Prep Sarah's wedding album -- It's her gift so I need to get this done soon...
  • Plan May's craft classes -- I have no idea what I want to do for May's classes. Really need to start thinking about these.
  • Enact a no buying craft supplies for the month -- I've gone a bit crazy lately especially with the bridal shower. So I've decided that April is a no craft supply buying month. The only exceptions are my stamp club order, Paper Issues swag bag, and Messy Box subscription. Otherwise no runs to Michael's or Joanns.
