One last book in the League of Extraordinary Women. We finally get to see Catriona get her HEA. Throughout the series, she has been coded as autistic and we continue that in this volume. She doesn’t quite fit in even amongst her friends. She has very specific needs and ways of looking at the world. Enter Elias Khoury, who also doesn’t quite fit into his world. I loved seeing these two character learn to see each other and find a way to connect. I really enjoyed the stolen artifacts storyline and wanted more of it than we got. I very much enjoyed touching base with the other characters without shifting focus from Catriona and Elias. And those steamy scenes were definitely steamy enough for me. Overall a decent ending to this enjoyable historical romance series with a message. My biggest complaint was the epilogue. It was unnecessary and brought a level of saccharine to the series that I did not enjoy.

I started this book loving the characters and the premise. I was so very into the storyline until about 40% of the way through. It started to get very repetitive for me and I really started to lose interest. My main issue is how Lucian continues to treat Hattie even after they are married, and especially after they have sex. I get the enemies to lovers trope. I get the one bed trope. My issue is fundamentally how he treats her. He’s okay with having sex with her, but cannot have a simple conversation without becoming antagonistic and condescending. I just could not take it. Sure, Hattie is a bit spoiled, but she consistently shows so much compassion for people that it was hard to have Lucian treat her like a child. The dichotomy did me in. I just could not root for their relationship at all. I had high hopes at the end that the big decision would stick, but then we get him showing up all ready to profess his love. I just couldn’t buy it. very disappointed in how this one worked out. It didn’t get my all the warm and fuzzies that I want from my historical romances.

Another great historical romance! I really enjoyed the first one in the series and this one was a delightful continuation of some of the characters. We get to know Lucie and Tristan throughout the course of the novel and I completely fell in love with both of them. I love how each of them have hidden their actual personalities and dreams. Thankfully we do get a check-in with the ladies from the first novel also. At times the novel became very serious, but I loved it. There was even a point where I felt myself tearing up. It really got to me and I just had to see Tristan and Lucie find their happen ending.

I love a good historical romance and I definitely love one where the heroine has spunk! I definitely needed this book this week. I dove right in and only came up for air a few times. I couldn’t wait to see what happened between Annabelle and Sebastian. I couldn’t wait to see how Annabelle dealt with Oxford and the suffrage movement. I couldn’t wait to see what happened with Peregrin and many of the side characters. This was a delightful romance romp filled with conflict and good sexual tension. I loved every page of it! Will be on the lookout for the next book in the series featuring Lucie and Lord Ballantine.
