A Plaid Christmas

Today’s card is featured over at Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration and features a Christmas card challenge. This month I also joined Punk Projects for their 30 Days of Christmas Cards challenge.

Another fun card featuring Festival of Trees and Seasonal Snapshot 2015. I was just about to glue this card down but realized I was missing a few elements. I quickly embossed the strip of Mossy Meadow to give the card some texture. Lastly, I added the tree silhouettes to the circle sentiment to help fill the white space. Perfect!

30 Days of Christmas Cards Day 19

I don't know what I was thinking. I made the cards yesterday and apparently decided to do something even harder for today. Although, I have to admit that it's a cool effect for a card. I love the sparkles and shine!

The shine is hard to see in the big photo, so here's a another look!

And notice my awesome gold embossed sentiment on the bottom. I think that's my favorite part!

30 Days of Christmas Cards Day 18

Today's card looks really cool, but was such a pain to make! I ended up making four of these cards (like I've done with all of the 30 Days cards), but seriously thought about scrapping it about 1/3 of the way through. Each card has 16 punched out shapes! Imagine having to keep track of all those shapes and make sure you get the right numbers of the right shapes and paper patterns. Yeah! It was a chore. But somehow I finished four of these cards. I really do like the look. Veyr cute and inventive.

30 Days of Christmas Cards Day 17

Today's card is one out of comfort zone. Usually I stick to fairly clean and simple cards. I like geometric shapes and brighter colors. I tend to stay away from anything to antique in it's look. But for today, I saw a similar card on Pinterest and wanted to stretch my creativity. I actually really like how this one came out. One thing I would do differently: put the coffee cup on a different colored paper. Otherwise, I like the look and I used these holly stickers that have been hanging around for about two years.

  • Stamps: Cup of Cheer
  • Inks: Chocolate Chip; Tip Top Taupe
  • Cardstock: Mossy Meadow; random script paper; Whisper White

30 Days of Christmas Cards Day 16

Today's card came from some great Pinterest inspiration. I love the multiple layers and patterned stars of this card. I pulled out some scraps from the Festival of Prints stack to cut out my stars. From there I grabbed some nice coordinating cardstock and some random dictionary paper from the scrap pile. To finish off the card, I added a sentiment and a cute little button.

  • Stamps: Retired SU Sentiment
  • Inks: Cherry Cobbler
  • Cardstock: Festival of Prints DSP (retired); Wild Wasabi; Cherry Cobbler; Kraft; Dictionary paper (scrap pile)
  • Accessories: Random buttons
  • Tools: Stars Framelits

30 Days of Christmas Cards Day 15

An interesting off center design for today. I kept the card fairly clean without extra embellishments. In person, the tree with the green design is very shiny foil. It gives off just enough glam to draw the eye.

A Starry Christmas

Today’s card is featured over at Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration and features a Christmas card challenge. This month I also joined Punk Projects for their 30 Days of Christmas Cards challenge.

This is such a great Christmas card! I love the play of textures and pattern. The star embossing folder always gets lost in the bin. Thankfully I pulled it out to use for my Christmas cards. The trick to this card was to emboss only the top 2/3 of the card. From there I added some great patterned paper and punched tree. Fairly simple, but such a great card.

30 Days of Christmas Cards Day 12

A sparkly silver and red card today. I love the glitter paper and foil accented pattern paper. I wanted to let the silver shine, so I kept the accessories at a minimum.
