Retiring Series: Starburst Sayings and Birthday Bash

The new catalog is coming... But before we get there, I'm highlighting some of my favorite retiring stamp sets and retiring DSP. Starburst Sayings (and framelits) and Birthday Bash were made for each other. I love the bold look of this card. And the little Bermuda Bay candy dot finishes the card perfectly.

  • Cardstock: Gold Foil; Bermuda Bay; Birthday Bash DSP

Retiring Series: I Like You and Park Lane

The new catalog is coming... But before we get there, I'm highlighting some of my favorite retiring stamp sets and retiring DSP. I Like You is one of my favorite stamp sets. I love being able to customize the coloring of the flower bunches. This has so many possibilities! For this card, I took my colors from the Park Lane DSP. I went with Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, and Calypso Coral to complete the flowers. Layering the flowers onto some basic coordinating cardstock makes them pop against the busy DSP background.

  • Stamps: I Like You
  • Inks: Blackberry Bliss; Mossy Meadow; Old Olive; Crushed Curry; Calypso Coral
  • Cardstock: Blackberry Bliss; Calypso Coral; Crushed Curry; Old Olive; Park Lane DSP
  •  Accessories:
  • Tools: Circles Framelits

Retiring Series: Hello There and Flowerpot

The new catalog is coming... But before we get there, I'm highlighting some of my favorite retiring stamp sets and retiring DSP. I love both this stamp set and this paper. It just makes me happy! I knew I wanted to feature all the different patterns on this card. Because of all the layers and patterns, I kept the sentiment very simple. I inked up the big sentiment in Garden green and layered the DSP all around the sentiment. So pretty! And the small flowers really stand out in person.

  • Stamps: Hello There
  • Inks: Garden Gree
  • Cardstock: Night of Navy; Flowerpot DSP
  • Accessories: Candy Dots
  • Tools: Ovals Framelits; Petite Petal Punch

Sunday Haul #15

A small box arrived this week; a box that I completely forgot about. I had ordered two $5 Freckled Fawn kits. Supposedly they are kits with defects, but I haven't noticed anything off about them. I'm just excited about some cute new PL embellishments.

Retiring Series: Hip Notes and Flashback

The new catalog is coming... But before we get there, I'm highlighting some of my favorite retiring stamp sets and retiring DSP. Hip Notes is one of those great sentiment stamp sets that I find myself using a lot. I will miss the stamps, especially the large block "Thanks."  This card features a ton of layers but is a great way to highlight the different patterns in the Flashback DSP pack. I stamped two of the Hip Notes sentiments onto a piece of Very Vanilla. However that piece still seemed a little plain. I added three candy dots in Pool Party, Crushed Curry, and Real Red and suddenly the card was perfect.

  • Stamps: Hip Notes
  • Inks: Real Red; Pool Party
  • Cardstock: Crushed Curry; Smokey Slate; Flashback DSP
  • Accessories: Candy dots

Retiring Series: Itty Bitty Banners and Sweet Dreams

The new catalog is coming... But before we get there, I'm highlighting some of my favorite retiring stamp sets and retiring DSP. For Itty Bitty Banners (can't believe this is retiring!), I decided to make two baby cards. I have so many friends that are pregnant right now that I need a ton of baby cards on hand for showers and deliveries. Right now the boy/girl ratio is about 50% so I made one girl and one boy.

The girl card features some patterns from the Sweet Dreams DSP pack. I love the fun geometrics in that pack! I added a few banners and a stamped flower to top it off. Very simple but fun.

For the boy card, I went with a cute little design I saw on Pinterest. Check out this sailboat! All made from various pieces from the Work of Art stamp set. I finished off the card with a little "sweet baby" banner.

  • Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners; Petal Potpurri
  • Inks: Marina Mist; Pistachio Pudding; Wild Wasabi; Calypso Coral; Hello Honey
  • Cardstock: Sweet Dreams DSP; Marina Mist; Pistachio Pudding; Crisp Cantaloupe
  • Accessories:
  • Tools: Bitty Banners Framelits; Flower Medallion Punch

5 on 5

1. Sorting through all my SU DSP that's retiring come June. I've still got a fair amount of paper leftover. Need to do something with this.

2. Getting our craft supplies around for preschool on Thursday. We're painting tea towels for Mother's Day.

3. Choosing my color palette for May's Project Life pages. I'm thinking yellow, pink, and purple with lots of florals thrown in.

4. Pulling out my newly printed pictures to finish April's Project Life pages. Only two more pages to go!

5. Admiring my pretty new bags from Thirty-One Gifts. I just joined as a consultant a few days ago and am so excited to get started selling!  If you want your own pretties, please follow the link to my first party. While there, check out the great sales going on in May.  https://www.mythirtyone.com/1680775/shop/Party/EventDetail/8186877

Currently...

Watching: Our server is down right now so I have to content myself with Netflix selections. I'm back to watching Hart of Dixie.

Reading: I wrote this list last night while I was still reading Witchcraze. I have since finished that book and started Seducing an Angel by Mary Balogh.

Listening: Really digging Florence + the Machine's new songs. Can't wait for the entire album.

Making: Attempting to finish up my April Project Life pages. Almost done, but I need to do another small photo order.

Feeling: I've been grumpy all day (Sunday) for no good reason. This morning I am extremely sore. I think I pinched something in my side. Lots of stabby little pains.

Planning: Trying to collect the information for the October retreat. I'm running the info meetings next weekend and Wednesday.

Loving: Sunday was sunny but cool and breezy. Perfect snuggling with the toddler weather.

Sunday Haul #14

I put myself on a craft supply buying ban for April. I did fairly well, but I forgot about preschool at the beginning of May. So I had to buy supplies for the craft. We are going to make painted tea towels for Mother's Day. I can wait to let the kids go crazy with paint! I even bought them mini smocks.
