I Love Candy Canes!

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card with something from the new Holiday Catalog. As a demo, I could start ordering from the catalog on August 1st, but I was good and just snagged a few sets to play with first. For non-demos, the catalog goes live on September 4th. For your consideration, I present the Candy Cane Season bundle! A cute Candy Cane themed stamp set and coordinating punch. I love a good coordinating punch and this one is perfect. For my card, I started with the special Dashing Through DSP, added a fun shimmery doily, and stamped and punched some candy canes. Look close and you can see I added some cute green and white enamel dots from the new Santa's Workshop Enamel Shapes pack.

Retreat Weekend Tags

Every time I host a weekend retreat, I always make cute little goody bags filled with treats. And those goody bags must have some kind of tags. I've been packing my craft area and didn't want to buy anything new, so I went digging in the leftover supplies and came up with these:

I pulled out a bunch of leftover Project Life cards to use bases. From there, I coordinated some cardstock from my Stampin' Up! stash to use as punched name tags. I added a die cut butterfly for texture. And you don't see it on the picture below, but I added some pearls, candy dots, and rhinestones to the butterflies to give the tags a bit of bling.

I attached each name tag to the goody bags using bits of leftover ribbon. I think I did very well in using random supplies to create very cute retreat tags.

A Variety of Vases

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using the Varied Vases stamp set from the Annual Catalog. I love how fun this stamp set can be! For this card, I created two shelves of vases to feature. From there, I added a piece of Garden Impressions DSP. Then I focused on filling in the vases with a variety of coordinating colors. Two the vases I actually stamped and cut out from cardstock to add a bit of texture.

Sunday Haul #16

I ended up putting in a small Stampin' Up! to maximize my Bonus Coupons for September's Bingo order. Just a box of paper and some special gifts for attendees. I'm featuring the All is Bright DSP and Toil and Trouble DSP as part of the make-n-takes. To coordinate I also bout the Frosted Floral CS (DSP is currently backordered) and All is Bright CS.

Tropical Butterfly

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card using our favorite DSP.  I always love working with SU's beautiful DSP, but sometimes packs fly under the radar for me until I see them in person. The Tropical Escape pack falls into that category. I liked it, but was lukewarm until it was in my hands and I could flip through the stack. Oh my goodness! This stack has such beautiful patterns! I knew I had to focus on this stack for today's card. I ended up creating a fancy folds card to feature a few of the patterns in the stack. After choosing my patterns, I chose a coordinating sentiment and a die cut a beautiful butterfly.

Birthday Stripes

Today’s card was featured at August's stamp club meeting. I wanted to do a simple birthday card featuring some great DSP. And I came up with this card! I started by cutting and arranging strips of the Broadway Bound DSP. From there I added a few layers and a sentiment. The finishing touch was a heat embossing punched butterfly from the Pop of Petals Stamp Set.

Reading: Finally picked up Little Bee by Chris Cleave. It's been sitting on my shelf for years!

Watching: Loving this season of Bachelor in Paradise. Way better than The Bachelorette.

Listening: Downloaded and working my way through Crooked Media's podcast The Wilderness. In some ways it's very depressing, but in other ways it fascinating and somewhat uplifting.

Making: My next craft project is prepping birthday thank you cards for the boys's birthday party.

Feeling: J and the boys were all sick this past week. While I've escaped most of the sickness, I've had to deal with three sick people in my house. I am now exhausted. Here's hoping I don't catch it now.

Planning: I've gotten the decor, activities, and goody bags worked out for the party. Now I just need to finalize our menu for the day of.

Loving: Cooler mornings were made for coffee and couch snuggles. Loving the bit of cooler weather we've had this past week.

July 2018 Memory Planner

July was a weird month. Either we were incredibly busy or we did absolutely nothing. Made for a strange month to document.

Sunday Haul #15

I went to Michael's, Joann's, and Hobby Lobby looking for science paper and stamps. I didn't find a single one, but I did find all this great stuff instead. Lots of planner goodies, some envelopes, coffee cup paper (project undetermined right now, but oh so cute!), and a birthday paper stack to make thank you cards out of. Most of the planner stuff was from Joann's. I never go to Joann's, but I'm glad I did on Friday. All of their Happy Planner supplies were Buy 1 Get 1 50% off. I snagged some things that Michael's doesn't carry. Score!
