Step It Up

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. The challenge was to create a card and then create another stepped up version! For my first card, I focused on recreating the example from the Tin of Cards instruction sheet. I didn't buy the stamp set so I had to improvise with Chalk Lines. Overall a cute card, but not super special.

For the stepped up version. I added a few more layers: polka dot overlay and strip of gold paper. And I added some pretty white and gold hearts to add some bling. There was still a bit missing so I added some color on the sentiment circle. Love it!

Lovely DSP

Today’s card is featured over at Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration and features my other attempt at creating my own DSP. This time I repeated the heart stamp from Chalk Lines covering the entire paper. The darker strip I heat embossed with gold embossing powder. (I know it looks black here, but I promise it's a very shiny gold) The spacing didn't quite turn out like I wanted, but overall it's a cute idea!

A Minty Birthday

Today’s card is being featured on Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration. Our theme for today was birthday cards. I've been relying heavily on the bright palette of the Cherry on Top DSP stack. But today I wanted to try something monochromatic and subtle. I decided on a Mint Macaron, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, and Whisper White color palette. And I love how this turned out! I even challenged myself to use multiple embellishments and it actually turned out great. I can't wait to give this card to someone special. (It could also double as a wedding card!)

Chalkboard Style

With my last stamp club order, I chose projects all related to the chalkboard style. I saw some really cute cards online and wanted to use them as inspiration. The first card was made for my New Products class. I wanted to showcase one of the new stamp sets: Friendly Wishes. This set is perfect for the chalkboard style. I layered a few pieces of DSP to help highlight the chalkboard paper. I also layered a few different stamps to create the main focal piece. Lastly, I added some rhinestones to finish the card.

  • Stamps: Friendly Wishes; Chalk Lines
  • Inks: Yellow Citrus Chalk Ink; Aquamarine Chalk Ink; Rose Coral Chalk Ink
  • Cardstock: Coastal Cabana (retired); Chalkboard paper; Best Year Ever DSP (retired)
  • Accessories: Rhinestones
  • Tools:

The second card is my homework for stamp club. Pam gave us a sketch and we had to create a card from the sketch. For this card, I wanted to highlight the chalkboard paper in a different way. I created the tag, but realized that that it looked a little plain just stamped. So I added the stars punch and everything started to come together.

  • Stamps: Friendly Wishes
  • Inks: Rose Coral Chalk Ink
  • Cardstock: Bermuda Bay; Chalkboard Paper; Birthday Bash DSP (retired)
  • Accessories: Gold 1/8" Ribbon; Orange Polka Dot Washi Tape
  • Tools: Confetti Stars Punch; Scallop Tag Topper Punch

Sunday Haul #18

A small craft supply purchasing week, but I did pick up a few items. The other day, Arthur and I were early leaving the South Bay area so we popped over to Michael's. I picked up some snail (always need snail), but of course I got some other things. I grabbed another pack of white paper, some enamel dots, a photo pictures paper pack, Heidi Swapp planner stamps, and a fall-themed word stamp. The fall-themed word stamp was a complete impulse buy but it was on clearance plus an extra 50% off. Had to grab it!

I also picked up my May stamp club order from Pam. I ordered the chalkboard paper, yellow citrus chalk ink, rose coral chalk ink, and chalk lines stamp set. I had a specific card in mind for these items.
